Racist Or Advocate, You Decide?
This audio is the basis of Jonathan Taylor's claims for targeting Mrs. Ennis as a racist. Was she being racist in her comments or was she advocating for the residents and businesses on Lake Street? You decide.
Hardly racist, more like a concerned citizen asked an honest question!
This is always a problem with growth and renewal. I fought long and hard to keep a group of elderly working people in their owned homes when a developer wanted their property. Today that developer has those properties but not until the owners could no longer live there.
And there's a property that comes to mind over at the hospital, the house that sits in the middle of a parking lot and growth. That owner to has the property for life.
These are the proper ways to manage growth to ensure the rightful owners are not displaced. Now it there are tenants, well that is a different matter. Again, I think Mrs. Ennis was asking a fair and honest question.
Joe, Why do you even give PigBoy any thought? The "Welfare" mindset of him believes EVERYTHING working people have, he should have for free. I guess he's not satisfied with subsidized rent, food stamps and medical care. If the city wants that property they should pay top dollar for it IF the owner wants to sell.
As I understood the audio, Mrs. Ennis was stating concern for the displaced and/or relocated residents and businesses of Lake Street. And Mrs. Ennis simply asked Shanie Shields what had she done to advocate for the constituents that Shanie represents. Rather than be concerned about the Inner Harbor in Baltimore which is none of Shanie's business, Shanie should be about her own business in District 1. Mrs. Ennis simply said that it was black folks in Shanie's District that said to her "that Tom". And many of Shanie's constituents feel that way, including me. Remember, Shanie only got one half plus one of the votes cast. Evidently Jonathan Taylor has problems understanding English. I still question the validity of the recount.
Racist for sure! Why do people need to make every problem they have with anything or anyone a Black and White issue? This is what's wrong with our country today everyone thinks they are entitled to what ever they want.
I listened to the audio several times, and I did not detect any racists comments. Why did JT have a problem with it? Many of Shanie's constituents believe she is a Uncle Tom, and they are mostly black folks. What has she ever done for her district in her capacity as City Councilwoman? She is all about what Louise Smith, Gary Comegys and Barrie Tilghman want. That is why she is perceived as a Uncle Tom. Nothing for her own district except what they will allow. Accepts the crumbs and gets the credit.
I would think that not wanting residents to be displaced from their home is advocacy not racism.Alot of old West side neighborhoods have been lost to progress in the past.
If this is the same woman that drove that Freightliner you all got it all wrong. It sounds like her voice on the recording. She ain't no racist. She worked hard for minority truckers around here. Sweetpea stood with us when we went on strike at IA to get a better rate. She was one of the ones that help bust up all the contract fraud around here. She ain't no racist whoever said she is don't know what they are talking about.
That's why Gary Comegys hates her, SHA was turned upside down by the fraud investigation ESCA brought on them. Heads rolled. Calling Sweet Pea a racist is the funniest thing I heard.

But I did not hear an answer.

Anon4:52PM, you have missed the whole point completely.
