Was Your Mailbox Disturbed Too?

This morning I was traveling down South Division Street in Salisbury and the mailbox on the corner of S. Division and Coulbourn Drive was open and all the mail was on the ground and some appeared to be open. Then I noticed all the other mailboxes and the doors were open on those as well. Hopefully there is nothing missing for that family as that could be a real mess.

Lowes is where we bought a mailbox that is like a "safe-deposit" box.
Mail goes into the slot and than you need a small key to retrieve your mail.

I live in one of the developments off of Colbourne Mill Rd. and there have been problems with this for years. Mailboxes smashed, cars broken into (around Christmas) and even windshileds bashed with a bat - mine included.

I'm headed to Lowes, that mailbox that you need a key sounds awesome

This happens every summer around Lincoln Ave. It is usually a precursor to break-ins. A full mailbox is a sign that the house is probably vacant.

A guy I know got tired of people smashing his mailbox, so he took a small mail box and placed it inside a larger one and filled the buffer area with concrete. Once it dried up and set he put it on his post like a normal mailbox. A nice solid surprise for anyone sticking a baseball bat out of a moving car.
