MDE Nails Z's Country Store In Parsonsburg

Some time ago the Quick Stop, (also owned by the Z's Country Store) was required to removed the old gas tanks and the MDE found they had leaked pretty bad and the soil was contaminated. The MDE made them remove the soil and it was required to have a plastic liner underneath and over top of the contaminated soil. The above image is that soil and as you can clearly see, it's not covered.

The above image is a shot from a different angle of the same piles of dirt required to be protected and it is not.

If you think that's bad, WAIT, it gets even worse. Recently en elderly farmer in some way or another worked out a deal to take away what he thought was simply dirt. He showed up with a front end loader and started taking the dirt away and then placed it on different right of ways in Parsonsburg, (shown above).

The same farmer also started storing this same soil on his farm, not knowing it was contaminated, (above).

Once again, Salisbury News breaks exclusive stories the Main Stream Media has no interest in. Here's what's most concerning. Many properties in Parsonsburg have very shallow wells. I'm talking wells that are only 20 feet deep.

The MDE (Ross Kelly) is on the scene right now as I publish this article. The MDE has confirmed that the soil is contaminated and before the property owner could do anything with the soil, it was to be tested, (as required by law) and the results sent to the MDE. The MDE has absolutely no record whatsoever of this soil being tested and will demand it be done immediately.

Because the owner has not submitted documentation, the MDE has to assume the soil is contaminated. No one is permitted to take the soil and it is to be quarantined. We already know the soil has been removed and spread on local roads. The owner of the property could face huge civil fines.

I'm sure there will be more to come but if you live close by you may want to contact the MDE and have your water tested.

OMG look at that big puddle of water. Is that contaminated too? I'm going to have my well tested. I can't have my family drinking contaminated water. This is serious BS. What if they test it and find out it IS contaminated? Shouldn't the state have teams out there limiting the exposure to the ground water?

Another RETURN VISA, do you really think they xcare about our country or our citizens?

Anonymous said...

They were the ones arrested by the FBI for trying to bribe a customs official to get a VISA for someone. The FBI raided their house and found several people here from Pakistan illegally. This happened during the same time the chiken man in Snow Hill was raided and seized for alleged connections to terrorism. What a JOKE! Run them out of here before they reduce OUR country to some third world hole in the dirt like those that they're accustomed to.

I think they're right next to where the new P-burg FD is being built. I hope they get a DEEP well.

They won't do anything to them because they're foreigners!
They can do whatever they want in this country. Most of these stores don't even pay taxes so where's the money going to come from for cleanup?
Not from them! You and I will be paying for this!

My only question is this both of these stores prepare cook and handle food which they have to use water to do wash the veggies etc. And both stores have public restrooms so are any of us in harms way for eating the food or washing our hands in the bathrooms. Please Joe find out we have eaten there several times lately and our friends kids have eaten there please find an answer for us Thanks

That's is true they for a fact are running those stores thanks to america tax free the pburg quick stop 7 years tax free ran out 2 years ago so they passed it to a relative in Snow Hill and now they run it tax free for 5 more years as wheras they will then pass it to another relative and so on and so on. Sad

why would you ever eat in a dump like that. support locally owned establishments.

Anonymous said...

Not only would I NOT eat at that place, I wouldn't ever buy anything from there. Why would I want my money to go overseas to a place that funds terrorism and is used to kill our American Soldiers. Now they may be poisoning our water supply system. How eff'd up is that?

I live just a few blocks away but when I need something quick, I drive right past quick stop.

I don't always buy american made... but I only buy from americans.

Did you bother to stop and ask?
I did. The dirt was rotated 4 times. And tested and cleared for topical use no more than 6 inches deep.
It has been cleared for such use by MDE.
It is in air stage of contamination and is by 96% less petrolem filled than a paved road.
Facts are everything in news.

Mr. McMichaels, perhaps you didn't read our article well enough. The MDE has NO RECORD of this soils being inspected.

Of course you'd state that there's less petrolem than a paved road. CYA, we call it. Are you a politician. If not, you'd probably do very well at it.

The dirt was also not properly stored. Nice try.

Leaking tanks were plentiful all over America. It's not a big deal. MDE makes a big deal out of everything, it's called job security for them. Enviromentilist are going to ruin this nation. We can't even store a little chicken crap on a 1000 acre farm now without it being covered. We have to much regulation and when it's home for you, you will have a different point of view.

Isnt a farmer spreading contaminated soil what killed the town of Times Beach,Missouri?

Anonymous said...

The contaminated dirt is usually hauled off and incinerated. Fine them twice the estimated cost for intentionally skirting the law.

Anonymous said...

Good point bluetojthetotmon, where is the logic to keep it covered until you spread it over all the farm.

Run them out of town Parsonsburg. Don't buy there - don't eat there, pretty soon they'll leave.
