Subject Robbed At Bear Area ATM Machine



Location: Wachovia Bank ATM Machine, Governors Square Shopping Center on Route 40, Bear, Delaware, New Castle County

Date of Occurrence: Friday, October 16, 2009, at 7:30 p.m.

Suspect(s): Black male, thin build, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt

Resume: Troop 2 patrol officers were called to investigate an ATM robbery which occurred Friday night in Bear.

This investigation revealed a male victim had responded to the Wachovia Bank in the Governors Square Shopping Center to make an ATM withdraw. While he was conducting the transaction, and facing the ATM machine, a male suspect came up behind him and placed a handgun against the victim’s back. The suspect threatened the victim, demanded cash and the victim complied.

The suspect was last seen fleeing the scene southbound through the parking lot, across Route 40 and towards Glendale Plaza.

There is no surveillance video available.
