CELEBRATE DOWNTOWN SALISBURY! CITY HOLDS THIRD FRIDAY EVENT

Salisbury Mayor James Ireton, Jr., invites the public to downtown Salisbury this Friday, September 18th, to join in and support Salisbury’s Third Friday Celebration. A number of businesses located within the Arts & Entertainment District in downtown Salisbury will open their doors at 5:00 pm for this event.

Participating venues will have balloons at their entrances to denote their involvement in Third Friday. To date, participants for the September event include Uptown Chef, Chesapeake East & Yum Café, Parker Place, Pottery Guild, Body Pro 1, Anthony’s Deli, Perfect Dress, Velvet Pearl, Season’s Best Antiques, Market Street Inn, Market Street Books, Kuhn’s Jewelers, Art Institute and Gallery, Sushi De Kanpai, Flavor’s Italian Grille, Enza’s and PNC Bank.

There will also be refreshments and live entertainment at the Salisbury Marina. Refreshments are courtesy of Coca Cola of Salisbury, Sobo’s Wine Bistro, Market Street Inn, and Vinny’s LaRoma. The live entertainment will be provided by the band Riot Act – Act II.

Bands scheduled to perform at this Friday’s celebration will be the Near East Family, performing in front of the Government Office Building (125 N. Division Street); Alex Wersen & Friends, performing in the parking lot of Amber Nicole’s Bridal (corner of Main and Baptist Streets); and Lime Green performing in Parking Lot 10 in front of Season’s Best Antiques (104 Poplar Hill Avenue). In addition, there will be several performing and visual artists along the street. There will also be lots of fun kid’s activities along the street. A great evening for all ages!
Urban Salisbury’s Arts & Entertainment Steering Committee is assisting in this effort as part of the revitalization of Downtown Salisbury. Similar celebrations are held monthly in Arts & Entertainment Districts in Berlin, Cambridge and Snow Hill.

Mayor Ireton says, “The work of Urban Salisbury and its spirited group of volunteers is paying off. Watch for my YouTube videos promoting the events! Please join us to celebrate. See you downtown Friday night!”
