"While our people were protesting outside, here is a report from inside the hall..
I was in the auditorium, and there did NOT seem to be many union people. In fact, the Union members were a group of about a dozen people. I was about the last person allowed in the auditorium. The media took up several rows of seats for their cameras. Also, there were some seats that were reserved for Cardin staff members and elected officials.
Believe me when I say that the overwhelming number of people were against Obamacare. The audience was loud and passionate, and a few hecklers. There were also very cogent questions asked from the audience mikes, and one of my colleagues was asked by Cardin to meet with him afterwards (as in set up an appointment) to contribute some of his ideas about transparency by doctors, hospitals and the like.
Whatever you guys were doing outside, we were hard at work inside doing the same thing!

About 20 of us ambushed Sen. Cardin has he tried to escape out the back door. I asked one of his police escorts if there had been a group of 200 or so union members taking up a portion of the 500 available seats. Supposedly the Acorn and Union people grabbed seats early as they were there for one of their meetings (slick story) and then stayed for the town hall meeting. Even FOX heard reports on the bussing in of Acorn and union members."

I WENT TO BUTTERFIELDS TOWN HALL LAST NIGHT...
HE WAS A LOT MORE OUTSPOKEN WITH HIS BUSSED IN PAID MERCENARIES THERE ...
CARRYING THEIR PROFESSIONALLY MADE SIGNS.....
WE WERE 50 /50 LAST NIGHT SO HE FELT QUITE EMPOWERED. THOSE WHO WERE FOR THE BILL NEVER MADE FACTUAL STATEMENTS OR ASKED QUESTIONS..
THEY GAVE "TESTIMONIALS" AND SAID..IT IS A "RIGHT" FOR ALL AMERICANS TO HAVE HEALTH CARE.
CITIZEN OPPOSERS WERE EXTREMELY WELL SPOKEN!
LOTS OF BOOS, AND A FEW SHOUTS..NO VIOLENCE .
HE STILL SAYS THERE IS NOTHING ABOUT ILLEGALS IN THE BILL....NOW HE IS PLAYING WITH WORDS.
BECAUSE THAT WORD "ILLEGAL" IS NOT SPELLED OUT.
OR BETTER YET..IS HE UNWITTINGLY SAYING THAT ILLEGALS ARE GOING TO SOON BE ON A FAST TRACK TO CITIZENSHIP..AND THEREFORE WILL BE "LEGAL" BY THE TIME THE BILL PASSES
THIS IS PROBABLY A FIGHT WE WILL SOON BE ADDRESSING.
OUR GROUP IS NOW THE ROANOKE VALLEY PATRIOTS AND OUR MOTTO IS "ACTION NOT APATHY!"

By arranging and holding these town hall meetings, it seems that there is an opportunity to discuss the good and bad of this program. By acting rude and agressive the opponents are just looking like they're just mean spirited, and have bad intent.
If you have good questions, good reasons to oppose, they will still be good if brought forth in a mannerly way. There seems to be nothing gained by the rude and nasty approach to getting your point across.
When people at home see someone screaming and ranting at a US senator they are so turned off it makes the otherside look good.
These blokes are not acting like civilized adults. They should mind their manners and debate diffences respectfully.
3:31pm-how did Code Pink or environmentalist look good during the Bush years? They were carrying signs comparing him to Hitler and some with a gun at his temple, that didn't seem to affect the media or their numbers. This is one-sided campaign to discredit those who have something to say, the fact that they are out in numbers, with their walkers and canes in the heat of summer is telling. They are getting loud because our Representatives aren't listening. They have written letters, made the phone calls and gotten the same automated response. Every group has the extremists and while I didn't agree with the Kratovil effigy, it wouldn't have stopped me from attending a protest,what stopped me? I had to work.
I do not advocate yelling at these elected officials however I do reason with the folks having to do the yelling and in no way does it make me look to the other side. For one thing if our officials would clean out their ears and start listening to the people that put them there these folks wouldn't have to yell to get their point across!
Seems to me the very people we elected to oppose this crap and represent us have turned death ears on what the majority of Americans are trying to tell them.The main ones stirring the pot and causing problems are the hired "guns" trying to make it look like the people actually caused the problems.
