Joe, thanks for posting this. More people need to know that most Pet Stores get their pups from Puppy Mills, or through the broker. People need to stand up to demand our Representatives put a stop to this inhumane greed filled practice !
Remember, a reputable breeder will want to know who is purchasing their puppys & where they will be going, along with a health guarantee to the purchaser.

Pet Smart stopped selling puppys in their store & are to be commended for doing so.

I have been working with dogs resqued from Puppy Mills & I can tell you it is a disgusting business!!! They never know what it is for their feet to touch the ground, living in filth, no socialization, no vet care, fed cheap food , & bred every heat cycle, starting while they are still puppys themselves.

I can't tell you what it was like to foster the first dog from a mill. It is a real wake up call! She didn't know what grass was, was afraid of just the small mist of rain & had to have 3 surgerys to correct the harm caused her from neglect! Did she pull through?---You bet she did. She was a little fighter----Was she spoiled ? You bet she was & still had love to give after what the vet guessed at 8 yrs of living in a mill.

Please remember the next time you or anyone you know wants a puppy or dog, check out your local Humane Sociey, Rescue groups, & reputable breeders only. If you can't see the parents of the animal or it's living conditions & health guarantee----Do not buy----Most likely they are from Puppy Mills. You can help stop them by buying responsibly.

A society can be judged by how they treat their animals

Yes, & it shows just what has happened to America----People don't care anymore---with the attitude, "It's not my problem."

That is the mentality that needs correction. It is a community problem that people need to get involved in----just like the crime that goes on here. They figure if it's not happening on my street then let the ones who have it on theirs take care of it. WRONG---It ALL filtrates into an entire community. Unity is needed!
