Bank Robbery


Location of Incident: WSFS Bank SR 24 west of Long Neck Road Millsboro

Date and Time of Occurrence: August 10, 2009 just after 4 pm

Delaware State Police State Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred at a Long Neck area bank

A black male suspect entered that bank just after 4 pm today and approached a teller. The suspect displayed a weapon and demanded money. The teller turned over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect before he fled on foot. The suspect was seen getting into a white contractors van. The van fled the parking lot and was later found abandon a short distance from the robbery scene.

We were working in the area at the time, and noticed all the police and the helicopter searching, but didnt see anyone leaving in a van, we thought that someone had tried to rob the bank due to the police presence

Joe, here is some news that maybe you knew or maybe you didn't. Maryland Troopers are on the chopping block. On the table by Omalley, is the cancelling on the current academy class, firing of the last class that graduated. Up to 10 furlough days as well as loss of the take home vehicles. There is already rummors of masses of junior troopers quiting and going to county agencies across the state. Also being considered is the consilidation of the Maryland Transportation Authority police and the Troopers with MTA chief Marcus Brown taking over the show and Colonel T. Sheridan being terminated.
