Salisbury Police Department Press Release


On May 28, 2009 at approximately 10:12 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department received a request to assist the management of the Chesapeake Inn with an eviction from a room.
The officers responded to the room and made contact with the tenants, who are listed below. While meeting with the suspects the officers observed suspected controlled dangerous substances throughout the room. The substances were seized and the suspects were placed under arrest.

ARRESTED #1: Rochelle Lynn Russell, 20 years of age
Salisbury, Maryland

ARRESTED #2: Joy Ellen Cabral, 28 years of age
Fruitland, Maryland

CHARGES (both): Possession of “crack”/cocaine with int. to dist.
Possession of “crack”/cocaine
Possession of cocaine
Possession of marijuana
Possession of CDS/paraphernalia

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

On May 29, 2009 at approximately 6:53 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department received a call to respond to the Giant Pharmacy for the report of a fraudulent prescription. Upon arrival the officers met with a pharmacist who advised that the below listed suspect had presented a fraudulent prescription to be filled. The pharmacist made a check with the physician and confirmed that the prescription was fraudulent. The suspect was placed under arrest.

On May 29, 2009 at approximately 10:30 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police were contacted by a victim in reference to a robbery that occurred near his residence on N. Division St. Upon meeting with the victim, the victim advised that while walking near his residence he was approached by several suspects that physically robbed him and took an amount of U.S. currency. Officers checked the area and located the below listed suspects who were positively identified by the victim.

ARRESTED #1: Kevin Lamont White, 33 years of age
Salisbury, Maryland

ARRESTED #2: Wayne Lorenzo Ayers, 24 years of age
Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES (both): Robbery
Conspiracy to commit robbery
Second degree assault
Conspiracy to commit assault
Theft (over $ 500)
Conspiracy to commit theft

DISPOSITION: Both released to Central Booking

On May 29, 2009 at approximately 11:03 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police were on routine patrol in the area of Waverly Drive and Middle Boulevard and stopped a vehicle operated by below listed suspect # 1 for traffic violations. As the stop was conducted, the officers observed suspected marijuana in the front area of the vehicle. The suspected marijuana was seized and both suspects were placed under arrest.

Salisbury, Maryland

ARRESTED #2: James Gregory Meadows, 18 years of age
Eden, Maryland

CHARGES (both): Possession of marijuana
Possession of CDS/paraphernalia
