How about we start with your thoughts on the Ethics Board Meeting today at 10:00 at the Salisbury Fire Department against Debbie Campbell & Terry Cohen. I'll start by saying, why wasn't Shanie Shields brought into the picture. After all, she was carrying two health insurance policies and flat out screwing the City of Salisbury Taxpayers out of close to $10,000.00 a year. When will a Citizen of Salisbury file a complaint against Shanie?
My feeling are, this is clearly an attempt to bash Terry & Debbie, since the Fat Man didn't include Shanie into a clear violation and Barrie, Gary, Shanie, Louise and others are more than likely behind the entire thing.

These people are a damn joke, they respect nothing. When people refuse to respect things on their own the only thing left to get them to respect rightful things is fear.

What a waste of tax money! Debbie has a great attorney though, so it will be clear that this is a sham once it is all laid bare. Glad I don't pay city taxes!!
I don't think they are entitled to free benefits, but if they want to purchase them through the city, then so be it. Especially if Debbie's husband has a pre-existing condition, no insurance company is going to give her a great policy price- one that the taxpayers may ultimately end up paying.
They are part-time employees and should be treated like part-time employees just like every other business. Sure, you may argue that they put in full-time hours, but they were the ones who campaigned for this job knowing full well what it entailed.
I do think it was a breach of ethics to vote for something that you'll directly benefit.
These people (theseveral you mentioned) are a vindictive bunch who believe they can run the two sesible council members out of town or at least off the council. Debbie and Terry are the only true and faithful members of that council. The ethics committe I think should be able to see through they're shame and do the right thing. The other's don't need health insurance because they already have it, and I don't blame debbie and Terry for wanting what they should have!
So the FAT boy filed this accusation???

With respect to the anonymous commenter @ 9:17, this website hasn't set a very high bar in terms of respect. It is, in my opinion, very difficult for the organizers of this website to claim a moral highground in Salisbury politics.
How long does it take them to make a decision usually? Will we know the results today?

Jonathon Taylor is nothing more than a puppet for the election losers, and he seems to have a real grudge against Debbie Campbell. He had a disgusting picture of Debbie Campbell on his website where she is trapped in an anchor. He's sick, possessed, or delusional, and maybe all of the above. I find it amazing that he has not be stopped by court order or public outcry!

Contrary to what has been said, the City Council members are NOT classified as part-time employees. They are "salaried" employees and do not have a requirement for hourly work. Name any part-time employees for the City who are on salary.....c'mon, I'm waiting. Oh that's right, there are none! You don't put part-time employees on salary.
I find it amazing that the Fat Man was the one who did this KNOWING he's collecting Disability checks just for being fat and lazy. He's also living in section 8 housing which WE pay for. Also don't forget about the Food Stamps which We also pay for.
If someone wants to talk about ethics, Fat Man YOU clearly need to be investigated in so many ways. You manage to be anywhere you wish to be without any problems getting there. There are many disabled people in this world who wish they could do the same. Are you to good to work? Don't you want some self respect by knowing what you pay for is being paid with money you earned instead of stealing from the government?
Seems your wife would be embarrised to live with you. Can you imagine what it must be like when she's at work? Those she works for bragging about their husbands, their homes, etc. while she either outright lies about her so-called happy life OR quietly smiles in shame knowing how she lives.
Terry and Debbie are honest, hard working and caring women. They don't deserve the crap they receive. I wish I were a Salisbury resident so I could show up at the council meetings and be able to voice how I feel about whats going on. I might not be able to do that BUT I certainly can contact Social Security and the local offices concerning the con you've got going. As for your wife, I took my business elsewhere when I found out where she works. I can't voice my opinions at the council council meetings but I can there. I have too much self respect to do this in public. Instead, I called her boss and explained why I would not be back.

I also learned that council is considered as part of the entire "class" of eligible city employees. To 11:19, as a matter of policy elected officials qualify for the benefit, whatever their names are. They are also required to pay the same portion of their coverage as any other city employee under the city plan. I believe that the same is true for the county.

they do. That was explained today. They and any other council members, including Shields, already pay the same as any ohter city employee who has the city's insurance.
Inquiring minds want to know.....why did Shanie Shields accept health insurance from the city when she already had state health insurance from her deceased husband as a benefit? TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS A YEAR of the taxpayers' money WASTED. Perhaps she filed claims with both insurances to make a profit. The City Council seems to have double standards.
