Last weekend we experienced one heck of a storm on the Eastern Shore. Above is just some of the damage caused by the heavy winds. It's also clear why many of the roads became flooded. When you have the volume of storm water hitting an area so quickly, litter and even door mats covered storm drains blocking the expected normal flow of water into the sewer system and sadly, directly into the river. I guess you could day without the grates on the streets filtering some of the floatables the River could have looked worse than it did?

joe, not sure if your are aware of the storm drain problem in salisbury, but I have picks from friday night, I happen to live on smith street, and the water was neer 3 ft. deep in fron of my house, and would have floated my car away if I did not move it, it has been a problem for years, and the city has still not returned calls,

The ISSUE is City & County DPW maintenance & upkeep of drainage systems .... After 6 weeks of street closure to install a new catch basin on my residential st. @ 8 PM Fri. my street was barely passable .... a drainage canal is aprox. 120' from the road - does anyone check to see if the outflow pipe is clear & free from obstructions, trash, leaves, overgrowth, etc. ?

JR have you ever heard what goes around comes around i THINK YOU MAY WANT TO WATCH WHAT YOU SAY ABOUT PEOPLE CHILDREN.
