The Truth Behind Pulling The New Ladder Truck Out Of Service

Even though some Firefighters got on her and lied about why the new Ladder Truck was pulled out of service, the truth is that another driver hit a light pole or telephone pole with the rear bumper and did some serious damage. Enough to pull it out of service anyway. To those Firefighters thinking they can get away with claims like it was pulled for service work, we will find the truth and it will get exposed. That being said, do you really want to continue to cover things up and lie to the public?

As long as SEE & GORDY are in the dept, there will continue to be coverups. If I were those men I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight due to tomorrow election.

The truth has come out, just ask Pierce. The truck has a long rear overhang, when you turn, you also have to watch that overhang "swing out from behind". I was very surprised when Richards came on here and told less than the truth. Thats not like him. The truck is to darn big for 2nd class drivers. They are training people to drive that shouldn't be. That's the truth from the inside.

These drivers need more time in the seat of a big truck, and why don't they practice with a cheaper one?

It takes more than a few trips around Salisbury to get comfortable driving a new truck.

Have any of these drivers even driven a big truck for a living, or do they jump in the seat and think they can handle a big truck?

Anon 11:17,
Due to legal reasons, maybe he can't? I was wondering about that myself...

Lying never pays, because it is not reality and you need reality to make the best decision. Lying is easy and stupid. It's take a bigger better person not to lie and stand up for the truth. This area lacks that, I am glad to see Ireton running, he likes the truth.

Bull Joe! One driver clipped one pole 4-5 weeks ago. The only damage is one marker light and a diamond plate bumper cover which was fixed with other warranty issues. There was a punch list of items in need of warranty repair that are being taken care of. Again there is no serious damage to the truck. The only damage are the feelings of the one who was driving.

for that kind of price tag, I expect the vehicle to be virtually flawless! I seriously doubt that any damage was replaced under warranty without any additional costs!

Too much truck for this area. This fact was brought out long before in the planning stages to aquire a new truck. The higher ups did not listen for they had their own agenda.

I feel bad for the person driving too, but he shouldn't feel bad, because it is the first of many to come. That piece is too big for the streets we have in the City of Salisbury. You are unable to manuver a vehicle up and down the streets off Camden, and off Newtowne. It shouldn't have been built so extravegant. But Gordo and See had to prove a point. Look now, they are both bailing out.

The Truck absolutely did not hit another pole. It went to Middletown del. and Singer & Asso. did warranty work on several items. If you doubt me, then call them and ask them.

now that is a comment worthy of a post!

Its not worhty of a post when its not Steve White. This is a person impersonating Steve and expressing their opinion that is false. Mr Layne has done this before. Chief White does not express himself this way and is being falsely represented.

may be they had normal wear and tear first month maintenance they had to do? i know with regular vechiles after so many miles you have to have them serviced maybe thats the reason.
