Wicomico County Sheriff's Office Press Release

Incident: Assault / MDOP
Date of Incident: 10 March 2009
Location: 22000 block of Royal Oak Road, Quantico, MD
Suspect: 17 YOA juvenile, Quantico, MD

Narrative: On 10 March 2009
at 9:53 PM, deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residential youth facility in the 22000 block of Royal Oak Road in Quantico, MD for a reported juvenile who was out of control, attacking the facility’s counselors. Upon their arrival they learned that one of the counselors instructed the juvenile residents it was time for bed when one of the residents refused to cooperate. When informed of possible sanctions for his behavior, the juvenile became belligerent with the counselor and threatened to kill her. Because of this juvenile’s behavior, the two counselors present retreated to their office. When they attempted to close the office door, the juvenile attempted to force it open, forcing the counselors to struggle to get the door closed, which they managed to do.

The juvenile then exited the residence and began damaging the first counselor’s vehicle by jumping up on the hood and smashing out the windshield and a side window. The juvenile then smashed the office window from outside and climbed into the office where the two counselors were. Once inside the office, the juvenile then threw a computer monitor and a filing cabinet at both counselors. One of the counselors managed to exit the office, went outside and discovered the damage to her vehicle. The counselor then entered the vehicle in an attempt to get away, but the juvenile then began punching the counselor through the open broken window.

The juvenile was placed under arrest and transported to the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office where juvenile authorities were contacted. The juvenile was detained by the Department of Juvenile Services in the Lower Shore Children’s Center pending court action.

Charges:
Assault
Malicious Destruction of Property

If you don't know the name of the facility, how can you know it happens a lot there?

Well smarty, just how many youth facilities can there be on Royal Oak rd? I am sure I have seen half a dozen or so reports for this facility, and I dont know the name of it either. Maybe this goes to show that you cant just hug a person into being a normal and productive citizen. Even if that is what our liberal society would like you to believe.

That's why these kids are there , DAH !. Some are out of control and some need to be in jail with other prisoners. Don't give me that poor kids crap.

Move this one into the jail so there's room for the rest of the Bloods and Cryps' draftees.

Things similar but not quite this bad happen in classrooms with only one teacher present and lots more kids to "fuel" the hoodlum. We need to take back the schools.

No, you can not "hug a person into being a normal and productive" citizen. Thankfully, they do a lot more than just hug the clients at Maple Shade. These are children who are a product of their environments. You cannot blame them for ALL of their actions. They are shown a different and better way to behave and socialize. People can change. For those of you that think this is not so, please stay behind your facade of perfection, and shove it!

just shoot 'em.

The police visit this facility frequently and the sad fact is that it is simply a staging area,a training camp if you will, for future DOC inmates.
And they do not need any more "help"-they need structure,self-respect and above all,REAL disclipine. The kind of help they are getting is not working, because there are no consequences to their actions.A good arsewhippin' never killed any of us growing up but today we are told to put kids in "timeout" and talk about their feelings, all good things but not worth a darn if there is no discipline to back it up.

15 mins behind the woodpile with a 32 inch baseball bat would go a long way towards his "rehabilitation"

Yeah, try to do something more than warehouse these juvniles, and you'll be facing indictment like the DRILL deputies. I doubt any of those troubled juveniles at the Lower Shore DRILL Academy faced any harsher treatment than any current or former member or our military, but Chief Webster and Barry Tilghman have done everything they can to use the DRILL to divert attention away from the mess they have made of the city and its PD. But I digress...

Keep electing liberals and this is what you will get--Warehousing and talking, but no action or results.
Hug a thug.

=============================

Problem is that any physical disipline like a spanking or arrswoopen as you put in todays society is deemed as chiled abuse.
I have had neighbors come to my my house just because I told my daughter she cant watch tv for the night and she screams!!
Lay a hand on your child anymore and you will get in trouble. that is what is wrong... a spanking isnt a beating... children should be made aware of consequencious...(ok... that is spelled wrong) are they? I dont think so.
So sad a parent cant disipline children the way they deserve anymore without the threat of going to jail. I wasnt a perfect child and learned my lessons by the licks I took from parents. Time out? What the heck was that? Sometimes I wish I was told to go sit in the corner or my room...

What the hell do any of you know about being in a cage?

Anonymous said...

Hmmm, that would most def require an a$$ beating...oops i didnt say that.

A little Singapore caning is whats needed here , that will break that sh** up !!!!

i agree, there is no discipline anymore. My sister was out of control for a long time and whenever my dad would give her a spanking she would call social services, and run away to the neighbors house and tell them my dad was beating her and that he broke her jaw. Then the police show up pissed at him when he just spanked her. wtf. and of course they believe her lying arse because dad had a drink or two that night.

and now she is 17 with no job living in a shack (basically) with her boyfriend and new born baby. wtf.

why does the county handles calls at a state facility? shouldn't state police handle these calls?
