Two SPD Officers Escorted Out Of Police Department?

Word on the street is that a Cpl and a Lt were asked to turn in their guns and badges and were escorted out of the Salisbury Police Department today.

One source says they heard their was some suspensions today. The Roman Empire is crashing Folks. The SPD must be down quite a bit of Officers at this point and certainly Mr. Comegys can't actually believe the Department is fully staffed, as he likes to claim and Forums and Debates.

When I hear more in this I'll let you know.........

keep digging, Joe. there is more to the story.

Joe, moral is bad enough over there - now this? Can you picture someone considering a career in law enforcement chosing SPD to work at? I can't. Who in their right mind would want to work for those pea brains? The once "place to work" under Chief Dykes has gone down hill in conjunction with the "mare" and her vendettas.

Tilghman still holds tho ropes, and those who are for Truth, Justice, and the American Way can go down the road. She's got the power for 2 more weeks. Maybe Mike Lewis can pick them up. Thanks, Barrie, for graduating two more to higher ground, where they can keep an eye on you out there in the county OR the city!

Lt. Davis and Cpl. Oliphant....suspended WITHOUT PAY is what i heard. Must be bad bad bad.

Anonymous said...

someone must know. due tell PLEASE. we are dying to know!!!

Anonymous said...

Must be a felony to be suspended without pay. There obviously is more to this story. Oliphant yes he has been a pos since day one but davis is a good guy. I heard he was jockeying for the chiefs job so go figure

Two police officers do something that apparently was egregious enough to warrant immediate suspension isn't an indication of the "Roman Empire crashing...," it's simply two employees suspected of doing something they shouldn't have been doing. Happens more frequently in police departments than you think. That's why every agency has an internal affairs.

Wow 7:44... you must be on the inside if those are the officers that are being spoken of. Hope neither of them call you friend

Anonymous said...

they are suspended WITH pay.

Lt Davis is long overdue for the crap he's done for so long. Oliphant is the good guy.

Will the Daily Hatchet Job be covering the details? hmmm Stinks already.

I hear there wad a third officer ewing got escorted as well

9:20 There will be no details forthcoming from the department or the city since personnel matters are protected matters. And 8:05, cops are notorious squeelers, especially with anyone associated with the media or anyone that can bring embarrassment or humiliate upon their agency. They look at their action as a way of getting even for some wrong they think has been done to them at some point in their career. That's one of the reasons why the last people I associated with socially were the cops I worked with. Most had a lot to say in the shadows, but didn't have the pelotas to voice that same opinion in front of anyone of rank that mattered. As big and bad as they thought they were, many were nothing more than gatitos.

anyone can say what they want thats why i love this country but i wouldn't point fingers at anyone until its on the table i know both personally and couldn't imagine either one of them doing anythin to warrant immediate suspension. i mean i've had my share of IA'S but never been suspended so my thoughts and prayers go out to them wishing for a quick investigation cause having anything held over your head is not fun especially when you did nothing wrong

3 less officers? Oh yeah I feel a lot safer!

Anytime something comes up at the Sheriff's department the paper seems to know the names and some details. I'm not saying we should get full disclosure but taxpayers should know that something has happened and we are further strained with city public safety.

Is this Rev Elmer Davis?

Suspended with pay. - Isn't that called vacation?

Anonymous said...

Ehich is it suspended with or without pay?

Cramer was suspended with pay last year for BS and put on FTO. We ALL knew something was not right and the third floor was trying to fire him when that happened. Stuff just started rolling down hill after they fired him for sub-standard performance. BS that guy did his job, showed up on time, asked questions about anything and everything. He backed me up many of times and I'v backed him up as well. I would have him backing me up more than 80% of the azz kissers here. Lt Davis is a good person. Comes off a bit pissed off but after a while, you do your job and not screw up all the time, he helps you out. Cpl Oliphant, good person, just dont go over his head. He is a supervisor, so go to him. He may run his mouth but he does answers your questions. BTW, another SPD officer is leaving. That is 4 for this year. Maybe the new guys would start growing some B*lls and doing police work.

AND no, suspended with pay isn't vacation. You still have to show up. Work with Maria the ADD female who has been there since Jesus times.

i certainly hope whoever the new mayor is that they get rid of the chief he is no good i can't believe they hired an internal investigator to be the chief of police i sorry but that was a horrible job only reason i can see he waqs hired was he had no connects on the shore therefore good ole mayor barrie could pull all the strings she wanted with him. please whoever the next mayor might be please get rid of that chief and hire from within the department someone who actually was a cop and would be proud to be the chief and more importantly be proud to wear the uniform

Anonymous said...

yes, that's it. they loafed. they actually took a little rest during night work. oh the shocker! does that mean 3 good officers should be reprimanded? I think not. what a waste of time. they need to be out there protecting the city from the drugs and the gangs and the mayor!

As a former police officer with SPD I am bothered by the fact that somebody would actually throw names down of these officers. It is an internal investigation not a criminal investigation. Whoever ran there mouth and put the names out there wouldn't want their name or names out there if they were being investigated for a internal matter. No matter how much you are soured by the PD or administration, to run there names was wrong. You embarrased not only those officers but everyone you work with and have worked with.
I had my share of I.A's some warranted many not. They cause undue stress that most if not all in the private sector don't deal with. Many times false complaints are lodged against officers because the complainant is trying to get out of charges. The department will investigate and find the complaint as unfounded or not sustained. They won't go after and file criminal charges against the complainant because they feel that it might keep other people from coming foward and filing a complaint in the future.
I loved my job and miss it greatly. I don't agree with everything that happens there at the PD and have a lack of respect for some of the command and supervisor staff knowing that many of them did the same thing they judge others for. As for Chief Webster - No chief is perfect including former Chief Dykes. Both of them have and had good and bad qualities. There were times in my career that I had run in's with both of them. I wouldn't change any of it as they helped me see qualities in both of them that I strive to achieve and other qualities I know I never want. Being a Police Officer is a thankless job. In my career I think I only had 5 people thank me for the work that I did, including Imogene Wise, Ellen Perry an unknown woman who approached me after 9-11, and maybe two more. That is after 18 hard years of police work that has forever changed my life, the life of my family and friends and some on the streets. For those of you who criticize the officers of SPD and those of you in SPD who have never been there just come and walk a quarter mile in my shoes from the time I started at SPD till the end of my police career. Maybe it would open your eyes. For those of you wondering who I am, my name is Rusty Savage retired SPD #146

Anonymous said...

Rusty are you saying Ellen Perry is an unknown woman? Unknown to whom? Every cop in 3 counties knows her. Ask Ivan Barkley how she lied about him in court.

Anonymous said...

I dont know her and I work in Somerset County? Who is she?

Anonymous said...

Rusty Savage,

Lol, funny i wouldn't trust a word out of your mouth.

Rome is Burning

I agree, throwing the names out there is a bit bitter. It will come out in time. Joe, this PD needs to be investigated starting at the third floor. Good officers are leaving. Joe, ask why officers are leaving. Do a poll! Wonder why people dont leave WCSO like SPD.

I have been warned by a probation officer to basically keep my mouth shut, brought forth by Chief Webster. Yes, I have my 1st amendment rights but I heard very loud and clear what was said to me and for now I'll do as suggested. You guys know how it is and has been. You don't need me to say it. Grow a pair and make your comments.

So are you saying that the Chief has silenced you and you are scared of him?

joealbero said...

Oh yeah, shakin in my boots, you know me.
