Disposition: Remanded to custody of the Wicomico County Detention Center

On Sunday, March 22, 2009 at approximately 0100 officers responded to S. Camden Avenue in response to a domestic assault complaint. Upon arrival, officers observed the complainant to have several bleeding scratches on his nose and around his eye, scratches on his chest, neck, back and stomach area and a bruise on his back. The complainant advised he was in bed when his girlfriend, Joy Ellen Cabral, came home after having been gone for several days. He advised that Cabral began doing drugs in the bathroom and wanted to use his cell phone in order to get some more. The complainant refused at which time Cabral launched into a tirade that resulted in the complainant being punched, scratched and struck with fists, hands and thrown objects which included knives, forks and a radio.

During the course of the investigation, officers observed a glass pipe containing CDS residue which had been used and left in a chair by Cabral when she returned home.

Cabral was arrested and charged with Domestic Violence and Violation of CDS laws.
