Another City Crime

Joe

Just a few minutes ago an ambulance was dispatched to Back Street Grill for a subject that was assaulted in the area and walked to back street grill for help. This on top of the college student that was assaulted yesterday shows that crime is out of control. We need to keep this information in the public light as I am sure the Police department will not release this information during the campaign.

Joe just to correct this I heard the same dispatch and it was last night(Saturday night 3/28)and not a "few minutes ago." Regardless the issue is crime in the city that goes unreported. This is a very unsafe city to live in. We can thank the Tilghman Administration, Comegys, Dunn, Shields, Cathcart, Smith and the slumlords.

Thanks

I know of a middle school student, a nice kid that was walking to pick up his brother after school. He was jumped by 3 gang members and was beaten until a male citizen stopped to help. The boy's face was unrecognizable. This happened very recently.

11:58, if one of my kids gets beat up by a gang, come tell me to my face about getting hysterical.

This is a scary place to live. I don't own any guns because I have small children, but I am forced to go out and by some so that I can protect my family. I encourage everyone to do the same before Obama outlaws our right to bear arms.

The city needs a 10 o'clock curfew

ACLU would be all over any curfew. Thank them for being part of the problem as well.

I hope all of the people Barrie hired as replacements for GOOD department heads submit their resignations. It's the only honorable thing to do. Barrie entered office and immediately began chopping heads.

Fired Coulbourne Dykes.
Replaced with Alan Webster

Fired Bob Eaton, Attorney
Replaced with Paul Wilber, Attorney

Fired Roger Baskerville, no late audits and could tell you immediately anything related to the city's finances.
Replaced with Pam Oland,(friend of Barries daughter) late every year with audit, can give no solid financial information when requested.

Position created for Lore Chambers. A minimum $85,000 annual waste of taxpayers dollars.

These four should be the first resignations on the mayors desk April 8, 2009.

Curfews have been deemed Constitutional we had one here in Salisbury when I was a kid although can't remember why.

Anonymous 7:44 pm The last curfew I remember was in 1966 during the racial riots.

12:42 Crime happens in every urban setting. The majority of people do their business in Salisbury every day without incident. When a crime does occur I would hardly say that crime is "out of control." If you want to eliminate all risk from your and your children's lives, stop driving and lock yourself in a closet.

Forced busing in the late sixty's brought some violence here. It was Cambridge that H. Rap Brown was to blow up the court house? I don't remember actual riots like those of Watts outside of L.A. but there was some civil unrest.

I made my own taser out of an extention cord and jumper cables LoL

Crime in Salisbury is 'out of control' in the sense that it is far to high for the number of people living here.

The Obama bashers - I hope you realize that when you take local problems and turn them into an opportunity for you to just talk trash about the President because you don't like his race or party affiliation, you add to the problem.

We need a Salisbury task force to simply clean it up - start offering SERIOUS sentances for even the petty drug busts, and the criminals will move back to Sussex County and Baltimore.

I lived outside a huge midwestern city my entire life. I move here and within the first year my car is vandalized and personal property is stolen and my wife and I are verbally assaulted at the Salisbury city park by some local "thugs". We will be leaving this sh*thole as soon as the housing market rebounds, which isnt soon enough. If others are smart they will do the same. This area has ALWAYS had crime issues. My mentioned problems occurred in 01, its 09 now and nothing has changed. There is no teamwork here amongst the general public. The locals dont like "come-heres" and nearly 24% of Salisbury residents live below the poverty level. Low income, high poverty and tons of rental properties and you think this will change???? Good luck. I'd bet in ten yrs things will only be worse and the locals will still be screaming that crime isnt bad compared to last year. The easiest solution to the problem, moving, simple as that.
