Don't Pee On My Head And Then Tell Me Its Raining

Only in Salisbury can you find something, no, anything, to bring to every one's attention and feel the immediate need to "fix it." I know, why not wait till the economy is so bad, let's throw in another project no one can compare it to, (so no one has a clue what a contractor should really be getting) and piss away $135,000.00 and we must do it NOW! Boy, it sure does make the Marina Project look tiny though, doesn't it?

So how do YOU feel City Taxpayers? Are you OK with pissing away $135,000.00 to sure up the foundation, (PLLLLLEASE) and clean and paint this thing inside and out? It's a stupid Pipe/Tower. Oh well, the Tilghman Administration says that's what it will cost, then that's what it is. Just like that 3 or 4 million dollar Fire Palace cost $14,000,000.00. It is what it is, what can I say. Hope to see YOU at tonight's City Council Meeting because this will be yet another part of their 3-2 vote, as usual.

I truly wonder why the City of Salisbury can never seem to land those sweet deals like buying a $40,000.00 Ladder Truck for $5,500.00???????????????

so this is saying that we are cleaning inside and out something that we do not use? What for. To remember the good ole days, take it down sell the scrap.

Joe:

Please don't bash the future home of the Barrie & Bubba Memorial Library. The shape is perfect, too (just think about it).

When were bids solicited for this? I've been looking for projects like this and it hasn't been on the city or public sites.
Who "won" the project????

it's simply a thread, one of many on the BIG SCREW
......the last big screw she's gunna give this city and it's people before she's gone

so what do all the candidates think about this. What did Bubba do on this. The bid should be for tearing it down and taking to a scrap yard for the metal. What a waist. Is this another "oh we can't it's historic" crap. Or is this padding a friends pocket deal.

Any idea how much it would cost to tear it down? Might be more than fixing it.

Another option might be to fence it off if its dangerous, but then if kids break in and get hurt that'll be a lawsuit.

Hopefully options will be considered at the meeting.

Some would pay for this thing. It's a prime example of architecture of the period, and there probably aren't many left standing.

Put an ad in Architectural Digest.

Sell it on eBay.

But don't sink another penny into this big hole, unless it's money that's been privately raised for its preservation.

ill paint it for 1/2 that price

Fill it with cots and a small kitchen with 2 refrigerators full of precooked food for use with the microwaves. Let the homeless call it home and let Barrie be the Madame or whatever in charge.Men upstairs and women downstairs. No hanky panky allowed.

Man, didn't Bubba make a fool out of himself last night! He was really stumbling over his words worse than ever.

And Shanie too--she couldn't even answer Debbie's question. Shanie has her 'idears'--how many times did she say that word! Her District voters hopefully will throw her out.

I'd rather see the money go to the marina. A marina does at least bring people to the City, I wonder how many people will ever visit the standpipe?

Now we have the answer to "Why we need the expensive ladder truck at the SFD." The paint crew will use it to paint the tower.

btw, the new truck was rambling around the streets yseterday...no fire or accident to attend. what, going for an oil change, already?

Have you ever heard of driver training? The men and women of the SFD need to be trained on all equipment before it goes in service. It does not matter if you live in Salisbury or not, you should be glad these fine man and women give their time to help all of us in a time of need. That Tower truck and any peice of the SFD fleet might be coming to save your butt one day! So tell me ... HOW MUCH IS YOUR OWN BUTT WORTH?

And if you are brave enough to answer that please be brave enough to sign your name!

PS: If you would like to see some nice clean up close photos of this very nice Tower-16 feel free to vist my site. On a side note I will not pass out photos that I have taken to ANY site that will allow negitive bashing towards the SFD or any fire department for that matter. This is not directed at Joe himself, it is directed at all the blogs. I have had request from other blogs to use the photos and I have said no because I did not want my photos involved in a pissing match between uninformed people.

Now back to the topic of this tread!

I can see that right now LoL

Add a picture of Bubba in the ladder bucket painting the tower with a roller.

One word of advice, it you're going to lift Bubba up to that height, make sure you get a diaper on him to reduce avoid sewage spill.
