not the first time I have heard that about him.

Surely you don't mean that the owner died!

I took a friends dog there one time to be put to sleep b/c of old age any medical problems. He did the deed and brought the dog out to me wrapped up in the blanket I brought. Put the dog in my arms and it was still moving and breathing. I almost flipped out! Had to call him back out and ask him if he was sure the medication worked. Told me it did and that it would take a while for it to stop moving completely. Kept moving for a while. Maybe he just put it in a plastic bag so it would suffacate. Sketchy!!!

What is our local active Humane Society members saying about this? Who is head of it? We need some leadership spokesperson taking an interest in this case.

His name is Dr. Death and he has had that title for years.
We had him come out to put our horse down and he said he would be around if any problems. HA! She didn't die from his care. After laying there for HOURS and he did not answer his phone we had to shoot her because she was having seizures. Thanks Doug for nothing.
We now have a vet that truley cares and even comes to shows to see us.

I have been taking my animals to Dr. Nolte for over 20 years, he has always been very curtious and professional. Never have we had any problems. I recently had to have my 18 year old cat "put to sleep" he has taken care of her, her entire life and when it was time, he brought her to me as I requested in a blanket, wrapped like a baby. What else could I ask for? It's unfortunate there are some cases that turn out negative, I'm sure there are many in the veternarian field as well as medical profession that have had serious issues (that's why the cost of malpractice insurance is so high for the medical field). I feel compasionate for the families that this has happened to, but I felt I needed to say I have only seen the flip side, as he has cared for 4 dogs and 3 cats very nicely AND he is affordable unlike some other vets.

I have tried to warn everyone about this guy. I took my baby Brutus in there to be fixed 3 years ago. When I picked him up in my work van I put him in the back because it was easier than picking his 100 pound self up. I am thankful I did because he bled all over the place. I could not believe an animal could lose that much blood and live. I called the vet and he assured me it was fine. He is a clown.

I can tell you he's been my vet for over 20 years, I've never had ANY problems or issues with him. He's always been very caring and kind.

He's always been honest about what he can do and the cost of that. An example, a tiny kitten, a foundling, badly mangled by a rogue tom, apparently the mother abandoned it. The kitten was alive, he took good care of her, we brought her home and she's very healthy, now two years old and busy, tormenting our other cats.

I know he could have charged us a lot more for her care, opting for surgery she didn't need, but he didn't. Some of the damage really wasn't fixable on one of her paws, but mostly it healed on it's own.

I've never had a bad experience with Doctor Nolte and he'll be my vet as long as he's in practice.

I brought my sick cat there a few years ago. I kept calling for a few days and never recieved a return call. I finnaly went there to see what was going on. They said they didnt know what was wrong with her. The next day my wife went to get her. The Doc wasn't in. The girl at the counter went to see the status of our cat. She said she looked like she had a stroke and was probbaly dead. And couldnt teall anymore. My wife was very upset. She left the office called me and I went to go see the cat. When I got there they were closed early. There was no after hours contact number so we called the sheriff. Eventuly they got in touch with him. He had the girl at the counter open the place for us. Turns out he sedated the cat (not a stroke as the girl said) I went to take the cat and the girl said I couldnt. I took her anyway. We took her to another vet. She said this cat has recieved terrible treatment and was misdiagnosed and might not survive. After 1 week she came in perfect condition. Dr Nolte's office gave terrible customer service, couldn't tell me any information, the Dr was never there.

Wow!
I just watched the news. This is disturbing to me. I was to take my two labs there in a week or so. I have taken my dogs there for years and have had no problems. I would think that if he was to save his reputation he would comment or atleast respond to some of the inquiries. Does not doing so "admit guilt" or is it more of a legal thing? I don't know what to do with my dogs.
Does anyone have any suggestions on a new vet?

Thank you 11:19. I will call tomorrow, my labs need to get into a vet office within a week or so to get rabies updates.

Salisbury Animal Hospital is the best. Ask for Dr. Haberstroh or Dr. Todd.

We have several animals and have tried many vets in Salisbury (fortunately we never visited the one that's the source of this blog).

IMHO you can't go wrong with Dr. Wolinski and the crew of Healing Hands. They're on Main St in Salisbury and are very loving and caring.

This man needs to be seriously investigated. My family had been taking our animals to him for many years. Then a few years ago my cat had begun to have seziures. I called dr. Nolte and they told me to bring him in right away. Dr. Nolte gave him a shot and he seemed to be ok. Less then an hour later he was having seziures again. I made several attempts to call the emergency number for his office and to call him directly. I got no answer and no response for at least 1/2 hour. I then took my cat to another vet and told them what Dr. Nolte had done for my cat. I was informed that there was no "shot" for seziures. The next day I called to get my pet's recoreds transferred and Dr. Nolte's office told the new vet that they had little information on my pets and that they had not had any vaccines. Dr. Nolte had fixed both my pets and one had a severe bladder infection. So how could they have not had any or little records on my pets???!!!!
After my experience I found out about many others who had bad experiences with him. I now warn everyone about Dr. "Death" Nolte.

Hey 9:39,

That is pretty funny!

Maybe Dr. Nolte could offer a group rate to Webster, See, Gordy, and Hoppes.

They could all be dropped off by the new ladder truck.

Is there an image of Dr. Nolte? My female Jack Russell Terrier was spayed at the Humane Society and I was very frustrated and disappointed in her care. She became infected and had a bulge around the incision. I asked to bring her back and the Dr. just walked out and looked at her from about 4-5 feet away and said "she's okay". I then had to take her to the Pet ER for the infection. This was in May of 2005.

I have to chime in and say that while I have also heard the "Dr.Death" tag before,I have used his services in the past and was satisfied with him.Not endorsing or condemning him, just relaying my personal experience.
Also,my husband was on dart league with him for a long time and he seemed like a decent enough guy...I hope whatever problems he is having he gets them straightened out.Apparently something is wrong or they would not be investigating his practice.

Stay away from Pet Medical Center in Delmar. We've had serious issues there too!

Dr. "Death" Nolte should be reported to the State Vet Administration for discipline. Itiseems he does not like animals and has no compassion. Maybe an accidental fire will burn his office down and encourage him to move to Iraq.

wow i've heard so many bad things about him but he's taken care of 4 of my animals an i've never had a problem, he is reasonable and kind he doesn't spend loads of time with you but he's always returned my calls and when i had to put my rotti down 2 yrs ago i asked him to please make it painless for all of us he came out to my truck and talked to her and gave her the shot and she went to sleep tell me a vet who will stop what they are doing and do that on a sat afternoon...
