How much did the Chamber soiree cost?

This will be a great opportunity for See and Gordy to meet influential people. They will get new ideas about how to spend money and organize the department. It will be a chance to show others our beautiful fire department facility. We should all be very proud.

This "New" fire station is starting to get a little ridiculous...It's a friggin FIRE STATION folks! It's supposed to basically be a garage to park fire trucks with a few ammenities to accomodate on staff fire fighters. There doesn't need to be a mini museum, a glamorous website, industrial kitchen, expensive electronic technologies wired throughout the building, or many other things that they have over there on Cypress street. Let's ask the best of the best, NYFD, what they think of the new station-I'm sure that they would call our fire fighters a bunch of fruitcakes too worried about having a fabulous fire station than they are about fighting fires and other hazards...

How long have they been at the new location? It's got to be atleast 6 months by now, right? When are the tours going to end? When do we get to stop wasting OUR tax dollars on hors d'oeuvres for these "meet and greets"? I can tell you this much about all the Chiefs and officers, THEY ALL KNOW EACH OTHER! There will be no "meeting" and "greeting" others for the first time at this even. More or less, it will be a reunion party.

Hey Cheif See, it's a shame that you have this nice HUGE fire station, but no money left to fill it with fire apparatus! Every dollar counts, cut out the B.S. spending and start worrying about protecting this City instead of showing off your new toys...

how many people are we talking here? from out of town? will they stay in our hotels? eat at our restaurants? buy our gas?

As long as it's not more than $1,000, it's OK, but it will probably be much more than that.

Inquiring minds want to know!

This has already cost plenty. See flies all over the country to their other meetings and is gone for days. They have been spending your tax dollars getting a NEW station ready for this meeting for weeks. The funniest part of the whole thing is that See hates Volunteers and always has. This is the Volunteer section of the IAFC for goodness sakes. If they only knew his history.

You know its gonna cost somebody to feed these people while their here. They'll probably hook the volunteers for the bill as usual. I'm sure See and Gordo will thump their chest and bragg about their volunteer retention program. They can tell them about the thieves and mental cases the have kept on board. The situation is a joke and a slap in the face to good volunteers. They keep these crooks on the roster just to show numbers. They cant get any good people over there in that 10 million dollar palace. It's smoke and mirrors at its best.

The biggest crook retained is Gordo's son who he made an "acting" Lieutenant. He is not qualified to polish a real lieutenants boots. He has absolutely no training and is now a ranking officer because of who his daddy is.

I hope the new Mayor makes some changes. Wink, Wink!!

$1000 is OK??? Have you lost your damned mind? A nickel is to much for this feel good event. Since you think a $1000 is ok then you need to pay it. By the way sign your name next time.

Be funny to have a demonstration across the street during the "meet adn greet."

Anonymous said...

All these events are costing the Volunteers money. We are like a damn bank everytime See and Gordo get am idea in their head. The Volunteers are told to pay up or they'll snatch their Charter. The public would not believe the amount of money that the Volunteers are putting out. This is just another case of funding their gig at our expense.

If your want a laugh come by and visit their meet and greet. The joint will be filled with a bunch of executive firemen who never faught any fire. White Collar firemen like See. Dogg had the right idea for a demonstration across the street. Let these guys know how See has always hated Volunteers.

This will give Gordo a chance to wear his "I'm in charge Fire Chief uniform" Will he do all See's talking for him like the Council meetings.

Anybody got any idea WTF that means?

See’s going to tell his buds what a perfect little fire department he has. Ha little do they know what a liar the bastard is or how he despises volunteers. You think Gordy will run around like he owns the place?

Anonymous said...

Oh great another way to waste the money I work hard for everyday. You know Gordy and See have their puppets ready and rehearsed for the show. What are the chances of them parading the new million dollar ladder truck around. I’m getting sick thinking of it.

Gordo has assured the Chief that the new Tower 16 will be there to show off. They will put on a show no doubt.

How much did Gordy milk the volunteers for on that ladder truck? Are they broke yet?

I don't know but I heard they have changed the paint scheme again to Black and Red. Not only is the new ladder truck getting the new paint scheme, but all the fire trucks are being sent out to be painted black and red. Heck, they are even painting that junk ambulance and junk fire truck in the upstairs training room. They are even paying to have new scotchlite reflective stripes applied to the junk training props that know one uses. They have spent thousands on dollars on those old training props to show off to the VCOS morons that are coming to this crime infested city. Joe these are the training props that you posted pictures of while the station was being built. Could you please show those pictures again. There are a lot of p!ssed off employees that are working their butts off to make the February 1 deadline to impress See's and Gordo's cheefy buddies from VCOS.
