In a previous post titled Deputy Chief Gordy, All Smoke and Mirrors, Joe said,
"Once the brand new Fire Trucks come in that they had ordered, (actually they're in, just not in service yet) they'll be sending TWO Fire Trucks back to Pierce to have them retrofitted with a brand new paint job to match the brand new vehicles they just got in. They'll be adding new light packages in as well as decorative rope lighting throughout. They're spending money like there's no tomorrow and the Volunteers aren't happy at all! Oh, if you think this is bad, wait till you hear this. The two vehicles they'll be sending back, they got them in April of 2006 and Gordy is trying to claim they're not up to standard and that's why they're being retrofitted!"
My question is WHY? Why do these trucks have to go anywhere to be painted? We have a number of body shops right here in Salisbury that are quite capable of doing good paint work. Barr International has a paint shop that can accomodate commercial vehicles, why not use them? They can also install light packages. They do it daily on big trucks, why not fire trucks? Exactly how much is it going to cost the city to send the trucks, 2 men per truck, out to Wisconsin to get paint jobs? Any warranty work required on the engines or drive trains can be done right here at Barr Freightliner. They are certified to do warranty work on CAT, Cummins, Detroit and Barr International is certified to do warranty work on Navistar. So, why are these trucks leaving the area and taking our taxpayer dollars with them? How much is it going to cost in fuel, tolls, wear and tear, and per diem pay for the fire men to take these trucks to Wisconsin and go back out and retrieve them?
I'm sure the administration is not going to have answers for any of these questions, at least not honest answers.
Remember, Gary Comegys is a retired volunteer fireman.
Remember, Gary Comegys voted for an increase in the retirement fund that he will draw from, if he's not already drawing from it.
Remember, Gary Comegys voted to spend all of our tax dollars on the Fire Palace.
Remember, Gary Comegys voted to purchase all of these new toys for the Fire Department.
Remember, Gary Comegys said the volunteers won't contribute if they don't get any toys.
Remember, If the Fire Department wants it, Gary Comegys is going to make sure they get it. No other departments need apply.
I hope you remember all of these things when you vote in the primary in March and again in the general election in April.

I almost want to move to smallsberry just to not vote for this Comegys guy. If it wasnt for all that "Crime" I would.

No manufacturer is doing warranty work on a 2006 fire truck with that many miles recorded. These items are pure waste. They are merely a wim that Gordy got while at Pierce last month. The changes are painting the cabs black. Moving the folding ladder and making a new bracket. Changing to a new swing out traffic light bar on the rear. Rope lighting in all compartments. Removal of dings in doors and fresh paint in those areas. Now can you tell us what was a warranty issue in these items. ZERO, NOTTA. These are frills with no substance. Gordy has your pocketbook and your holding the bag.
I don't know about fire trucks but my 550 Cummins has a 5 year warranty on it. The body also has a 5 year paint warranty on it.
This makes me sick. Nuthin' but the best for Gordy and Bubba while the rest of us got bled dry when we're trying to keep our heads above water.
Enjoy polishing your chrome knobs, boys. I hope to hell people don't vote Bubba into the mayor's seat.

I will probably vote for Comegys because he is/was a firefighter as opposed to Ireton who has done what??? Caldwell I am considering also, just don't know as much about him yet.

Please tell us, the citizens and taxpayers of this city why these fire trucks have had 3 different paint schemes since Bill Gordy, David See and Rick Hoppes came into power? Why??? Please explain to us why we need the fire trucks to now be painted with black over red? Why??
Bill Gordy and David See are both rejects from the Delmar Fire Department and they stole the last paint scheme from them who also stole the idea from FDNY.
Now Gordo, See and Hoppes is changing the paint scheme to black and red which happens to be the same color scheme as the Chicago FD which also happens to be a trend stolen by the Laurel FD just North of Delmar Delaware. Can't these Three Stooges come up with anything on their own?
Please tell us the reason why it is so important to change the paint colors again and HOW MUCH is it costing?

The power he does have is to completely cut out any funding to the three stations of the Salisbury Fire Department. All citizens in Wicomico County should be outraged by these thieves. Rick Pollitt and the Wicomico County Council are also thieves for not doing anything about it. Hey Ricky boy and your friends on the County council, does 2010 ring a bell???
Wagon Driver 16 thank you for your input. In case you don't know what a Wagon Driver is he is someone who drives a fire truck. With that said this is evidence from someone from the inside of Station 16, someone in the know with credible information. Gordo, Sea and Hopeless your days are numbered!!! Your ship is sinking!!!

WTF are you talking about??? Bubba comagees has never been a firefighter. He is scared to death of fire. I was a firefighter when Bubba was a "member" of Station 2 in Salisbury. He was inside a fire one time and got so scared that he came running out so fast like a freight train that he knocked people over. That fat pansy was nick named "choo choo" after that. He is a flaming p_ssy why who has never been a firefighter.
I have an idea: why don't we just go ahead and boycott the gordy stores? Why don't we? because we are stupid embacilles, and we deserve everything we get from these pathetic rich people. You can't put out a fire any better in a freshly painted firetruck than you can with one that's looking a little ragged. You'd better believe that if my house were to catch fire, I wouldn't give a hoot what the paint job on the firetruck looked like.
The economy is going down the drain. I've noticed that the Mall and a local grocery store are removing light bulbs, making things less brightly lit, in order to save money (and maybe to go a little "green"). But Salisbury is going to spend time, money and manpower to pretty up their firetrucks? News flash: firetrucks don't gotta be pretty and have fresh paint to put out a fire!

I doubt that anybody with spelling and grammar as atrocious as yours is in charge of an office. And what you have just stated is illegal to do in the workplace, even if you claim to own it, which I'm sure you'll do next.

What, don't you think Assistant Chief Bragg is qualified to be the fire chief? He is just as qualified as Hoppes and Tull if not more qualified.
