Let’s put this rumor to bed. Jim’s office was closed for two days for him and his staff to undergo orientation with PRMC. He is selling the practice to PRMC, but he’s remaining on in the same role that he now has – Immediate Medical Care and Occupational Health.
At some point his office will move to the new Peninsula Orthopaedic Center Building located off of Route 50 and Tilghman Road. He will practice there and will be able to treat all of us as he has done so well in the past.
So if you get any questions at all about closing – kill the rumors!!

This is great news. I was really worried if I would be able to continue to be a patient of Dr. Burns.
He is an excellent doctor. A lot of other doctors in this area could learn a lot from him.
I wish him and his staff all the best as they transition into their future with PRMC.
It would have be nice if someone had posted a note on the door to this effect. Also, when calling the phone just rings. A recorded message would have also been helpful. Hence the rumors!
For me personally, I would have said it was more concerned citizens more so than rumors.
This is good news. I just hope that PRMC doesn't dictate to him what his charges and services are....but they probably will.
Oh thank you I am so glad. Nothing like getting that old small town doctor in our big city. Dr. Burns and his wife are the best.

That new CEO at PRMC is nothing less than a WITCH. Ask any of us that work there? Dr. Burns worked for PRMC before and it didn't work out, hopefully he got a good price for his practice and things will work out this go round otherwise I hope he'll open another practice on his own when she comes to put the screws to him. Give her time, she will do just that.
1. Peggy Naleppa is a wonderful person with a job to do. She is definitely not an Alan Newberry. Give it a rest.
2. Dr. Burns may be a terrific doctor -- however, he is not affiliated with Peninsula Orthopaedic Associates and will not be practicing in their building in the Woodbrooke complex. PRMC is developing an adjacent building, this is probably what the prior comment meant.
3. Be grateful for the independent practices that can stand on their own without PRMC's help and not be beholden to anyone except the patients they serve. It is a short list, but POA is on it.

Who paid for POA building? We are not stupid, if PRMC name is on it than you all, POA, worked out a sweet deal. I personally know how it works.
POA does a lot for PRMC and was smart, they got them to pay for the new building. Docs at POA would not put up w/ much of the crap but...
Standing on your own? Not really if PRMC is paying for your building. Smart business but be very careful who you "sleep with".

I hear POA's doctors' lounge is like a sports bar--flat screens and all. How could any practice afford a sports bar is todays medical climate--where insurance reimbursements continue to plummet and federal regulations continue to multiply? I'll tell you how: if one of the largest entities in town guarantees t you years of high rental payments. Sweet deals go very far for a select few. The good old boy system--ya got a luv it!

Here we go with the misguided, misimformed, uneducated whacko's throwing out rumors again.
Look BOZO you are clueless so get your facts straight. The good doctor you are referring to worked with ESA - Emergency Services Associates which had a contract with PRMC to supply Physcians and PA's to the Emergency Department.
First, the building is not the same building that POA is in it is a separate building in the same area. Second, I agree Dr Burns is a good doctor and better than most in Salisbury. Third, ask his staff if they all still have jobs because my understanding is that it wasn't the hospital that determined who stayed on when PRMC took over it was up to Dr Burns and his wife, Jane Burns, CRNP. That is why the phones are on a steady ring. they are short handed.
Dr Burns is the worst. First Impressions are lasting ones, I went there one time and almost walked out he was so rude. Never again.......
POA BUILDING IS OWNED BY THE DOCS!
I can attest to the fact that POA doctors do not even have a lounge. They do have small individual offices that are very modest. There is a media center with a projection screen, but this is used for meeetings and training.
In fact, the large screen TVs (2)are in the patient waiting area, for their enjoyment.
