BREAKING NEWS! Two More Candidates Apply For City Council

Bryan Brushmiller has filed for District 2 and Cynthia Polk has filed for District 1.

Ladies & Gentlemen, we have a race on our hands.

NONE of these Candidates have attended Council Meetings. That bothers me.

Bryan ran for County Council the last go around but was unsuccessful. Nice guy, very personable but again, he hasn't attended Council Meetings. Bryan feels he can bring the community together and negotiate with business people to relieve all the tension on the Council.

Muir Boda is also running for the District 2 Council Seat but IMHO this is a waste of time. I can't take this guy seriously as his Website is just a simpleton display of information taken directly from the book, "Running for City Council for Dummies." He has clearly teamed up with Louise Smith, Gary Comegys, Shanie Shields and Barrie Tilghman and we have already caught the man in lies he cannot retract.

Cynthia Polk is more involved in her community and the cool part about Cynthia Polk and Tim Chaney running is more than likely the two of them will knock Shanie Shields out of the Primary. More to come on Cynthia.

You know what Folks, we just may see some real life coming back to the City of Salisbury. More to come......

UPDATE: I was informed that Von Siggers considered running again for District 1 but she failed to register in time.

I did have this Post up last night but chose to move it up as it deserves some attention today.

Joe,

PLEASE stay on Muir Boda for his associations with the vile Anti-Albero bloggers.

Sorry Muir but you lost any chance at winning when you jumped in bed with those immature disgusting jerks. Wait until the truth comes out. And believe me when I say it is coming out.

I have no respect for Muir Boda due to his association with Mr. Nasty, but I do wish everyone else good luck on the campaign. Let's keep it clean, honest, and focused on the issues! Congrats to all of those who stepped up to the plate to run.

Bryan Brushmiller must be taking a page out of E.J. Pipkins "I Don't Know What Elected Position I Want" book.

Does this mean that mare dinglebarrie hasn't filed for re-election or is that top secret?

Dear Joe ,
I am signing off forever. I am confused. I have been out of the political arena for 50 years. It is
a sad me and my family. I will leave it up to you guys now , it's very taxing for me. I hope Salisbury will come back to life ,
as it has died for 10 years.
I have a lot of faith in you and
and your opinions. With out you
this place is dammed . So , keep up the good work and I wish you and yours the very best.

This is going to get quite interesting. Cynthia Polk is a wonderful person. She or Tim Cheney will serve the city well. I don't know Bryan Brushmiller so I'll reserve my opinion of him until I have further information and hear him speak.

hey joe,

is this the brushmiller, maybe around 30years old, lives off of camden ave near north or middle blvd? if so, check his arrest record. from what i know of this particular person, i would not want him on the city council...if they are one and the same that is.

Bryan Brushmiller is a really wonderful guy. I was very impressed with him last time and hope he is successful this time around. I think he can bring a fresh view to Salisbury, which we are desperately in need of.

Yes that is him, he is listed 3 times on the Maryland Judiciary Case Searh. One criminal, one traffic and one citation from the city of Salisbury for failing to paint his home.

Joe:

I don’t know Ms. Polk so can’t comment about her.

When he ran for the Wicomico County Council, I listened to Mr. Brushmiller and met him. He seems sincere, but has no significant experience for the position, and has been a constant “no-show” at the meetings. Also, it seems that he may have the same genetic makeup as Don Ewalt – “if there’s going to be an election, I’m running.”

I doubt that Mr. Brushmiller will defeat Ms. Campbell, which would be a real tragedy for the City, so I must question his motivation and ties to SAPOA-landlords and business/development interests.

I don't know Brian Brushmiller and he may be a very nice person. No idea on his qualifications.

But I am SO sick of people saying they are running to bring "getting along," "civility," and any other such term to the city council.

Because until we get people OUT of there like Barrie Tilghman, Gary Comegys, Louise Smith and Shanie Shields, there is no hope for "getting along."

Debbie Campbell was just plain brutalized by that (bleep) Michael Dunn, with Comegys as the Repeat of that Pete and Repeat show. Who can possibly get along with that mentality?

Terry Cohen came along, and she didn't promise to get along, but she did talk about "keeping personal out of policy" (something like that, I forget the exact words). She's done a pretty good job of that, I think, but I've noticed, especially after today's Rag article that they seem to be poking her with a stick again to see if they can make her snap or something.

Although Ireton's not running for council, he's talking about not pitting one group against each other. That I can live with, because he's not making that his "reason for running." Sounds like that's just going to be his plan for how he'll break a sick cycle here in Squished Berry.

Don't know Chaney or the Polk woman, but sounds like nobody has an ax to grind, so that's good.

I don't care if council people and mayor knock each other's teeth out as long as they stop raping the citizens and retaliating against them every time they open their mouths. Make some intelligent decisions, doggone it!

Delmar votes people in all the time who have never attended a Council meeting.
Seems like that's the way around here.
I, personally don't get it.
How they can expect people to vote for them when they don't know who they are, but it seems to work, simply because people just want new people even though those new people might just be worse than the ones they want to get rid of.
Best person you can vote for, in my book anyway, is the one who promises you NOTHING because I've never seen one keep their promises.

The last county election you had Rick Pollitt, John Cannon, Bill McCain, David McCloud, Sheree S. Hughes and Joe Holloway elected to serve and neither one of them attended council meetings. Looks like that is the norm for local politics.

Gary Comagys and Louise Smith never attended city council meetings before being elected either.

Does it cost anything to file for election in the city?

I am so glad that Bryan Brushmiller has decided to run for Council. He ran a very close, race for County Council, as I recall. I am a neighbor of his and can attest that he is a fine person. 7:36: Are you saying that it would be a tragedy for the city if Bryan cannot defeat Debbie? If so, I agree. (Yes, I am one of the few who read and contribute to this blog who feel that it's time for Ms. Campbell to go.) Bryan Brushmiller would be a real asset to the City Council.

This is once again a call to arms. Everyone with a brain get out and vote for Council Members and a Mayor who will work to make things happen. Read through the bull and know only work will make this city worth while, no magic wand will bring back pride or jobs so vote for people who will work for us not more puppets for the on going show!!!!

really? a neighbor that thinks brushmiller is a fine person? wasnt it one of his neighbors that had to call the police on him a few years ago? it was his disrespect for his neighbors(and police) that ultimately got him and his wife arrested. i dont see how that would make him a real asset to the city council.

Does it occur to you that's much of the problem -- electing persons who don't follow things before they are elected?

What name(s) or alias(es) does Brushmiller's spouse use???

10:27, I don't know Bryan Brushmiller, but I have a question for you and others who think it's time for "Debbie Campbell" to go:

Has anyone ever imagined a) what things would have been like if Debbie Campbell hadn't gotten elected in the first place, and b) what Debbie Campbell could have accomplished and been like if she hadn't spent 2 years as a lone voice with the rudest group of rubber stampers in the city's history and and another year as one of two voices with the second rudest group rubber stampers in the city?

My answer to a: is that there would have been NO protection for citizens and NO transparency for us without her. Just the sound of pounding rubber stamps and the sound of coins falling out of our pockets.

My answer to b: is if we'd had 5 reasonable people, not just 2, this city would have been much better off. Debbie Campbell wouldn't have had to hit brick wall after brick wall getting information (unless the mayor wanted 5 people to hit the wall instead of just 1 or 2).

When people slam Debbie Campbell, they are buying the fiction sold to them by a vindictive mayor and a patsy rag of a newspaper that somehow it's all her fault.

Let's get some more nice and smart people on that council and I have no doubt Debbie Campbell will shine. Nobody looks good after being bit by a thousand mosquitoes the way she has been.

I don't blame Von for not running, I wish she had however I wish the best to Cynthia Polk, Tim Chaney and Ralph McIntyre.

Joe, keep an eye on Brushmiller, I think he will be great for the city.

His eyes were awakend last time about the crime issues and I know he knows what he is getting into here.

Good luck

bryan is a great young mind, VERY professional, a Rotarian, and would do anything he could to help anyone. VOTE BRUSHMILLER for sure, and you wont be upset.

anybody that would compete for Mrs. Campbell's seat...is either deaf dumb and blind, COMPLETELY out of touch with reality, OR purposely being a stick in the spokes!

Consider yourselves lucky she's even willing to run again, NO ONE could be more dedicated to our city!!!

Didnt Cynthia Polk have an altercation of sorts with the Mare a few years back?Am I remembering that right? Her and Tim are the only suitable people to run for council so far.

Blutomom, that was Rachel Polk. I don't know if she and Cynthia are related. But Rachel was attacked, kicked in the groin, by the mayor's daughter.

Enuf sed.

I believe Cynthia is related to Rachel. She will also add some fresh air and civility to this election.
