Final Election Layout
Here is a great link to a map. It not only shows the USA but you can click on each state and it will give you the results on each county in that state. http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/results/president

Sp what does this mean, that teh country is run mainly by a little portion of areas? How is this possible?
Just shows that the Democrat controlled "machine" cities, with their patronism, corruption, and racketeering are controlling the electorate. The cities are all bankrupt and crime ridden. Soon the cancer of democrat control will kill this country.
It's possible because of population density. The rural areas of states overwhelmingly voted Republican. The more densely populated metropolitan areas voted Democrat. Unfortunately (in my mind, anyway)the metro areas had the greater numbers.
It's kind of hard to understand that map unless you rationalize that the blue portions are areas of high populations...Big cities
I would question the accuracy of that map. With the way it looks John McCain should be president but he only won 20 states while obama took 30 and one example would be nevada where Obama clearly won you show Mccain winning!
Heres a better map in my opinion include it if you like: http://www.npr.org/news/specials/election2008/2008-election-map.html#/president?view=race08
Good future reference. The next republican candidate needs to work harder in the big cities of america. By the map, one would think that McCain should have won since he claimed a majority of america's land mass.
I think that chart is very interesting. Joe, you should now post a chart that shows the crime rate in this country. There should also be a third chart that shows how many of those cities have a Democrat as mayor.
ANONYMOUS 10:10- That is the most rediculouls thing I have ever heard. So because I rent and have 2 children in the school systems been on my job over 10 years and pay my taxes that means I cant vote? Do you know how dumb you really sound?

That's not an election map. It's map showing the stupid democrats where all of our $$$ is going to be re-distributed.
The Map is a COUNTY MAP, not State

I'm feeling mighty blue, but very red in the face!
Joe:
Maybe the electoral college should be based on acreage, not persons! And after that we can bring back the poll tax and IQ test to vote.
Anon 8:20, land mass doesn't vote, people do, which is why the Democrats won. They received the votes of most of the people.

You should have to own or paying on a home to be able to vote.
Looks Blue to me.

Wait a second, I thought Obama won in MD? I see no blue at all in the state of MD. Eastern or Western shore.
If I read that wrong I'm sorry. I just didn't see any blue in MD.
Ok, nevermind, I just woke up. I'm working overnights. Lol. I made a mistake reading that map. I've answered my own question.
