Another Robery IN Salisbury

Hi Joe,

As you may already know, I work at East Main Street, Salisbury. Friday night one of our clients left the building just after 5pm, and much to her surprise was thrown up against her car by two men w/ hooded jackets/shirts and had her purse stolen. I didn't see it happen, but those are the details she gave me when she immediately came back in the building, very emotionally shaken up. A Salisbury Police officer was on scene in about 10 minutes, and a report was filed. I don't know if her purse has been recovered. I'm surprised (still not sure why) that no local news has reported it (or maybe I missed it). Anyway, I think it would benefit the community to know this crime happened right on Main Street in Salisbury, right next to a church, and most importantly it's just not safe to be in that area by yourself at night. I don't think it ever has been. I'd like to remain anonymous on this topic for the time being should you post anything on your website, if you don't mind. If you have any questions or would like to contact me that's fine. My main goal for sharing this info is in hopes that other people will learn from this and be very cautious in that area, as well as all areas of Salisbury. It could've happened anywhere! I searched wboc, wmdt and delmarvanow.com and couldn't find any information on this story. That should be disappointing but not surprising right?

As usual I'll be checking my email if you have any questions.

Thank you for your time!

Crime is down 4%, eh Chiefy? BS! If the crime is unsolved, it's not a crime, I guess?

Ten minutes for a officer to show up for a Robbery. Shame Shame, the robbers could have ran a mile let alone driven out of Salisbury in that time. Isnt it a part of their CALEA standards to resond within a set number of minutes. I know it use to be four minutes. I've said it several times and I keep saying it, This department is an emabarrasment to the memory of the great people that built it. Chief Dykes and Mayor Martin. These clowns Tilghman & Webster have to go, and 1/2 of the department will need to go especially the administration. I didn't leave for more money in-fact I took a pay cut. I left becuase Dykes was gone and the new administration was terrible, no pride in the department, no pride in the uniform and they just dont care about the community. I can remember going to training all over the country and other Officers saying amazing things about Chief Dykes, the department and the TAC team. Now all other officers do is laugh, especially about the Non-uniform wearing Chief and his thousand dollar suits from the BIG CITY OF Baltimore coming down to Salisbury to tell us hicks how to do police work. Well guess what Webster, big city policing or the lack of policing does not work here. I've gone from being proud to have started at the Salisbury Police Department to not mentioning it. I hope the new Mayor brings in a new Chief who is a local and cares about our community.

All woman out after dark should have their keys in their hands ready at a moments notice to punch the bad guys in the eye and a can of pepper spray in the other hand.

All women and teens should be carrying old style can openers to cut the would be robbers and a can of mace. I'd rather see all women carrying Smith & Wesson air weight .38's. That would put a stop to a lot of these criminals.

And the song remains the same. It was at least ten years ago that my company decided that the bank we would use is Bank of America, Main Street branch. I refused and insisted that we use the Rt. 50 branch because no way was I sending employees downtown after dark to make deposits. It was too dangerous then, and is obviously still too dangerous now.

When you change the crimes reported to lesser crimes the stats go down........ crime is not down at all.

Check out our stats for yourself, then go to the FBI's site. easy to find out for yourself...just have to look. Example, have you ever seen so many prostitutes in Salisbury in your life???

to 9:34AM.. Yes Coulborne was a great Chief. The best chief was Chief Payne... I had the privilege to serve under both of the them... However, the Salisbury Police became a spend off of Baltimore City.. Stephen B Tabling was the chief for little over a year. I saw the sop manuel double in size. You had to ask permisssion to get gas for the police car. So the damage was done along time before Chief Webster came to the department. Besides he works for the QUEEN...

If you injure the so called robber , you could end up being the one prosecuted. That's how the system works !!!

Did anyone read Sundays Times, about the woman who practically solved her own mothers murder?Maybe thats what they mean by community policing-do it yourself.Be careful what you wish for, people are tired of being victims.

In a court of law if there is not any witnesses, it's my word against the dirtbags. Self defense isn't against the law. The burden of proof is on the state to prove it wasn't self defense, but a well thought out premeditated assault.

I know someone that shot and killed someone that was attempting to do harm to him in a local bar. It happened behind the bar not in the bar. You don't have to be in your own home to protect yourself. The case was ruled self defense.

there is no self-defense law in maryland. The very liberal state can prosecute you for defending yourself if they want to.

Anon 3:04- are you refering to a P38 (used to open C rations I think). The only way to really get someone is if you get them in a major artery. Otherwise you just inflict a crapload of pain. P38's are pretty sharp
