It is a trash can, trash goes in a trash can and then it gets dumped. Now if you had a pic of trash all over the ground, and blowing in the corners that would be worthy. Now I know you don't like Comgeys, but this is just pure BS. He has nothing to do with this at this time, he has little to no controll with the current Mayor in office so what do you really want him to do about this? What did you do about this? did you take it to a dumpster, bet not. So let's not go busting on Comgeys over trash on the plaza find us some real dirt by golly.
As the Post stated two or three years ago Gary and Mike Dunn stated on PAC 14 that they were going to do something about it and now you're blaming it on the Mayor? As I agree the Mayor is just as responsible, Gary and Mike made a point that this problem with tenants using the trash cans on the Plaza was out of line and the TAXPAYERS were footing the bill for the trash ultimately going to the Dump.
As for your other question, there are no real dumpsters on the Plaza, that's one part of the problem. Secondly, I'm retired and I'm not a trash collection person. However, while walking in that direction I did pick up two Daily Times plastic bags blowing around where someone had taken out the paper and threw the plastic on the ground. That did make it into the trash by me personally.
I do my share every time I walk through the Plaza, as everyone should. Gary Comegys made a promise, (once again) he could not and would not keep. Just ask any business owner on the Plaza how bad things are.
OK....so why doesn't one of the esteemed idiots CURRENTLY at the GOB spend a little money on larger dumpsters (to hold the trash effectively)with lids to keep rain/animals/children, etc. out of it (you know....like we learned to do after the Dark Ages). 10:48.Shame on you for being an "idiot" (by golly)!!
Joe , Many more people live, than the public thinks, on the plaza. They pay city taxes, or at least their landlords do, but yet have no real areas of disposal. It's hard to encourage interest in downtown when, because of the cities' lack of foresight, it begins to resemble a land fill.
As many times as the Chief of Police rides through there, maybe he could grab a couple bags and run them out to the land fill. It could be his way of taking the department "GREEN".
The city does not provide trash service for apartments or businesses in the city. Why doesn't the city go through the bags to produce evidence of the responsible parties and fine them.
On another note, those trash cans are quite ugly and shouldn't be on the plaza.
Wouldn't great to have a busy main STREET with people walking along the sidewalks and cars riding by the businesses. It works for Easton and Cambridge is giving it a shot. Instead we have a trash filled , crack laden, often mentally challenged filled, horticulturists' nightmare. Two way traffic is the answer. Activity breeds activity. When I've brought visitors to the plaza they ask.."what in the world is this supposed to be?". My answer is "the road to hell is, in this case, is NOT PAVED with good intentions." It was a 30 year old vision left to crumble.
The city should provide trash receptacles for any city resisdent. Go through someone elses trash? Sounds like you have way too much time on your hands!
If someone stuck Joe Alberos name in the bag it would necessarily mean it was his. How about just providing a proper place for disposal with a keyed alike lock for plaza resisidents. Looks like there is room near the big city parking lot out back.

Actually it sounds like you are one of the tightwads that is putting your trash on the plaza. I hope they go through the trash and lock your ass up for littering.
