While we've spent close to a trillion dollars at war in Iraq, while Homeland Security is out there buying Boats, Motor Homes, Trailers, Helicopters, you name it, is it time for all of us to allow a $700 Billion Bailout?
Spending and accountability is a lost subject to the wealthy and our Federal Government. There's no doubt in my mind that there will be yet another financial scam found from the Homeland Security funding as well as a $700 Billion Bailout.
The IRS can't even keep up with people truly paying their taxes, let alone some agency keeping track of $700 Billion! Oh, that's right, Congress will keep a watchful eye out on that funding, PLEASE!
Just like there was an organization taking care of oversight on the Mortgage Industry and let's not forget the Dot Com Industry! Sorry Folks, we're screwed in the biggest way this Country has ever been screwed.

I don't always agree with you, Joe, but you've hit the nail squarely on the head with this one.
AND, the MOST shameful thing I've heard about this "bailout" bill is that, as dire our straits are right now, some Senators felt the need to tack on such things as subsidies for toymakers (??), tax relief for Puerto Rican rum makers, and several other entirely inappropriate things. We need identify and out the creeps who did this, so that their personal constituents can vote them out of office.
The 700B credit relief bill is a necessary evil. Like it or not doing nothing would cause the economy to grind to a halt. Do you have any idea what that means? People stop spending money, jobs evaporate, trade stops, welfare, unemployment and all other government assistance programs collapse under the weight of the demand for services. It ain't a pretty picture.....but at least we wouldn't have given another dime to those shitbags on Wall Street right? Come on, get a grip this was not a "Wall Street Bail Out" it was more a Main Street protective measure. This is a crisis folks. WAKE UP!

Granted, they may lose their homes and have to start over again. They were mainly living in a dream world with interest only loans anyway.
Property values will drop like there's no tomorrow, GOOD! We can start back where we belong anyway but if we go for this crap it FORCES values to stay high in order to very slowly come back. In the mean time local goverments will cry wolf and raise taxes anyway. They need to fold too!
Again, do you believe Wicomico County NEEDS another Park right now in this economy? You use your head and WAKE UP. If it doesn't fall apart this year, it will fall apart in 5 or 10 years. Sooner or later we're going to financially fail anyway.
Oh, that's right, we're at war for all the right reasons and it was stupid investors that lost out in the dot com failures too. Call me stupid?
Don't forget that it was TWO GOVERNMENT mismanaged institutions who are at the center of all this mess, coupled with corruption in DC & greed on Wall St.
So why should we trust 700 billions of our hard earned money to the government and the gang that brought to this in the first place???

Here's another one for you Pal. I signed a document, (without knowing it had a residential address and didn't have an address on the page I signed) and I was arrested for perjury. President Clinton lies on television and clearly states he didn't have sexual relations with a woman and didn't get anything for perjury?
It was simply a document and an error on my behalf. Because of the Mayor and Chief of Police getting involved, as a milti million dollar tax payer in America I get arrested WITHOUT ever hearing from the Comptroller that there's a problem?
Yeah, the America I knew in the past would have come forward and said, we have a problem here Joe, were you aware you signed this document? Nope, not today. When you're politically connected with the Comptroller in Maryland, you get what you want and I got arrested.
When the States Attorney learned there was never a time in which I tried evading my taxes on that transaction, they knew they had made a huge mistake. However, the Mayor & Chief had their field day making my life miserable for several months. Yes Folks, your lovely Mayor was knee deep in the entire thing. Let the biotch deny it and I'll bring forth witnesses that will prove it. Speaking of knee deep, be sure you never tell the Mayor she's a waste of good sperm or she'll spend years coming after you any way she can.

I'll not get into my net worth but I will say I have been a multi millionaire sine 25 years old. It's not like I'm ever going to lose that status. Not in my lifetime anyway.

All week I have been emailing and calling my congressmen and Representatives(DE)and despite the overwellming number of Americans who also are AGAINST any form of Bail Out/Corporate Welfare. The Senate has passed this and the house probably will too. Obviously they don't give a rip about WE THE PEOPLE. I will not send a return vote to any of my politicians. -CAA

I am truly suprised how many idiots there are in this world. Most of the problems that we face are simple and most the answers are too. The reason why things can not get resolved is because the common American can't even think on a simple level. If you think that the bailout is the correct answer, then you fit into this catagory. You allow the greed of the people who put you into this situation create the panic that does not allow for a solution. I do not feel sorry for anyone who signed a document binding them to more money then they could pay back. The subprime lending was set up for people who are not qualified to purchase in the first place. Now it is coming back on all the participants that were involved during that transaction. The bailout program has been drafted to transfer the risk from the guilty party to the general public. The banks got themselves into this mess, they need to figure out how to get themselves out. The only government intervention should be to enforce proper procedure. The banks need to minimize their losses, not by putting it off on the government and walking away. They need to take proactive steps toward getting their money back. Give the struggling citizen a fixed interest rate they can afford and roll the past due balance into a thirty year loan. This would cut down the forclosure rate, stabalize the value of homes, and keep business open.
Can I get an AMEN!
I think that they should give the $700B to each tax paying American. We could all pay down some of our dept. This would help everyone that needs the money to save their homes. Screw the big wigs on Wall Street!!!
I have a credit card that I have had for 5 years, never late with a payment, I paid 16% interest last year which increased to 18.99% this year for no reason.
I received a letter yesterday that it is now being raised to 29%. These bankers are F...ing nuts.../

Here is another noble idea...why don't we just tell other world nations (i.e. China-who would be drinking sake and "turning japanese" without the American troops who gave so much at Bataan, Guadalcanal,Iwo and Okinawa-the Chinese recently forgave African nations of over 1.3billion dollars of debt yet I recall not a single African nation contributing troops subsequent to the "Rape of Nanking) we owe money to that we just declared planetary bankruptcy. I am doing the same thing with the student loan people...can't get blood from a stone, my friends.

Please think about what you are saying. You are merely repeating verbatim what you have heard on the television. This is how "brain whashing" works! All Americans are guilty of doing this. We need to think about what we believe, and why do we believe it. Why for instance, do we believe the politicians care about us? Why would we imagine they will do what is in our best interest? Don't we all realize, at the same time, that the politicians are corrupt? We are being told lies.
