Did YOU Know

The City of Salisbury spends more money on electricity for street lights than ANY other item on the City's budget!

Have you ever gone down Pemberton Drive at night? The sewage treatment plant is light up like Shorebird's Stadium. It is time for conservation but the government doesn't seem to care. Street lights are important for crime prevention but we can save in other areas.

Speaking of lights.. Ride by the park... They are setting up the christmas lights. However, you can't see them because of that stupid living shoreline mess.

I agree with tedh...the street lights are important for crime prevention. There need to be more in the Smith Street/ Waverly Drive area. Maybe then they wouldn't be so plagued with crime.

Martha, Look at the crime in Salisbury. Then ask yourself, (like Dr. Phil would say) How's the lights working for you?

Joe,
They deter crime but certainly don't prevent it. It has helped the Church Street area some but the crime there is still bad. We all know what really need to be done around this area to help the crime problem now don't we. Lights work fine but if nobody is watching what is going on under those light then they don't have much use.

That's my point...the lights are hardly ever on in those areas.

The city doesn't have a budget , at least it doesn't have a budget that they adhere to.
