Governor’s flag order for the Commonwealth of Virginia:
Pursuant with President George W. Bush’s Presidential Proclamation to lower the United States flag on Patriot Day, I do hereby order that the flags of the United States and of the Commonwealth of Virginia be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and throughout Virginia in observance of Patriot Day, 2008. The flags shall be lowered at sunrise on Thursday, September 11, 2008, and remain at half-staff
until sunset on that day. A copy of the President’s Order is attached.

September 11, 2001, was etched into America's memory when 19 terrorists attacked us with barbarity unequaled in our history. On Patriot Day, we cherish the memory of the thousands of innocent victims lost , extend our thoughts and prayers to their families, and honor the heroic men and women who risked and sacrificed their lives
so others might survive.
Since 9/11, we have recognized the threat posed by terrorists to the safety of the American people and worked to protect our homeland by fighting terrorists abroad. We are confronting terrorism by advancing freedom, liberty, and prosperity as an alternative to the ideologies of hatred and repression. Our Nation pays tribute to our courageous men and women in uniform serving around the world and the devoted members of our law enforcement, public safety, and intelligence communities at home who work night and day to protect us from harm and preserve the freedom of this great Nation.
Seven years ago, ordinary citizens rose to the challenge, united in prayer, and responded with extraordinary acts of courage, with some giving their lives for the country they loved. On Patriot Day, we remember all those who were taken from us in an instant and seek their lasting memorial in a safer and more hopeful world. We must not allow our resolve to be weakened by the passage of time. We will meet the test that history has given us and continue to fight to rid the world of terrorism and promote liberty around the globe.
By a joint resolution approved December 18, 2001 (Public Law 107-89), the Congress has designated September 11 of each year as "Patriot Day."
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim September 11, 2008, as Patriot Day. I call upon the Governors of the United States and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, as well as appropriate officials of all units of government, to direct that the flag be flown at half-staff on Patriot Day. I also call upon the people of the United States to observe Patriot Day with appropriate ceremonies, a ctivities, and remembrance services, to display the flag at half-staff from their homes on that day, and to observe a moment of silence beginning at 8:46 a.m. eastern daylight time to honor the innocent Americans and people from around the world who lost their lives as a result of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this eighth day of September, in the year of our Lord two thousand eight, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-third.

When I contacted the City of Salisbury today asking them why so many flags were being put up they replied, they weren't sure. They asked if they could call me beck and let me know and I agreed. An hour later they informed me that it was Public Works putting up the flags but "I don't know why." They did say that they assumed it was for September 11th.

I notice they still say "19" hijackers in the president's order! Unbelievable, even the FBI and CIA have admitted that 7 of the original 19 hijackers are still alive. One of the original hijackers had in fact died the previous year! But to date, no change to the official 911 fable.

Ok. So you refer to me as an idiot. You refer to my statements as a conspiracy theory.
But you fail to explain how I am wrong. You fail to address the accusation that 7 of the 19 hijackers are and were still alive on Sept 12, 2001. You fail to address the accusation that even the FBI has admitted this fact.
An idiot is a person who lacks knowledge of truth. An idiot is ignorant of the truth.
What if I am right? What if in fact the FBI has admitted that 7 of the original hijackers are and were alive on Sept 12, 2001? What then?
Here is a conspiracy theory: 19 hijackers took over 4 jumbo jets in one day, the Feds failed to protect the twin towers, and they also failed to protect, of all buildings on the planet . . . the Pentagon - the nerve center of the U.S. Military Operations worldwide. The hijackers did the deal with boxcutters. They turned off the plane's GPS beacons, and then flew hundreds of miles without the aid of radar or ground assistance, and struck 3 of 4 targets. They were led by a group of CIA trained military personnel from the caves of Afghanistan, who used lap-top computers and cell phones to orchestrate the plan.

I was an idiot. I was ignorant of the truth for a long time. Then, because someone got my attention, I chose to do some research. Then after educating myself on the unlikeliness of the official 911 conspiracy story, I began to realize that perhaps another 911 conspiracy story would be more believable. That story involves the idea of the U.S. Government lying to the American People about an outrageous hidden agenda. I found that story to be more believable. Now I know some of the truth. I am at least smart enough to realize that the Main Stream Media is lying to us, and in fact, is a tool of the Facist American Dictatorship which has siezed control of our lives.
I ask you: Do you really think Lee Harvey Oswald was the "lone gunman" who killed President Kennedy? Do you realize that when an object is struck by a bullet, the object continues to move into the direction of the travelling bullet? Has the Media lied to the American people? Has our Government lied to us?
Lastly, I will not call you an idiot. I believe you have been the victim (as was I) of a massive propaganda machine which is much more sophistocated than most Americans realize. I believe you are a good person who wants to believe in the America we all once knew and pledged allegiance in grade school. But sadly, that America is gone. I hope you will do some research now. I hope all Americans will question authority. There are none so blind as those who refuse to see.

Of course, he, like any of us would, screamed "sic semper tryannis," and jumped over the raling, breaking his leg. The police, certain he was the one, chased him and killed him. You are right. This commenter thinks just because she has learned something she believes to be a truth, everyone must agree with her. Most of us don't need to do any research. We KNOW our government doesn't lie to us! We KNOW our media is the greatest on earth! We KNOW our country is great and free. We don't need to question authority. It is these paranoid nut jobs who do all the questioning and investigating. We are AMERICANS, and PROUD OF IT!
