Chesapeake Trash Removal SUCKS!
"Good Morning Mr. Albero,
This morning my wife informed me of something both funny and sad; my McCain sign was squashed by one of Chesapeake Waste Industries Employees when they "deliberately" placed the can back from where they picked it up from -- approximately 4 feet from where they picked it up from. I'm all in favor for people having the right to think and say what they want but I do have a problem with with individuals who disrespect my right to say what I want or feel. I've included some pictures for your viewing
pleasure and I hope that other McCain supporters who use Chesapeake Waste for their trash removal do not receive the same care that I received from its employees. You will be able to see from the pictures that the location of the can is nearly 4 feet away from the spot on the corner of the driveway.
Thanks for all that you do and keep up the good work."

I'm a McCain Supporter as well as a customer of Chesapeake trash removal. If you would call them and complain like a normal person, I'm sure they would fix the problem. The guy probably just did not see the sign when he put the can back. If it was on purpose he would have just threw it out, not leave the evidence behind.
I like Chesapeake. I changed to them because they were such a good deal but they also do a good job. I'm sorry to see that some of their employees are showing their Obama support by trashing McCain. (pun intended)
If they were doing their job properly they would have known to put the sign in the trash can.
but your sign in the front yard not the side yard where you put your trash can for pick up. i can't believe someone is stupid enough to complain about this.
I hired Chesapeake over 18 mos. ago.Good price, good service, and mistakes happen. Just pick up ur damn telephone and call them. You will get results. The only problem I Complained about was when they changed pick up crews on my route. You should live in the city.take a ride through those streets and then you would have an honest complaint.
So if your mail box or flowers are n the trash mans way...to bad? He should be made to go get another sign and place it...maybe he'd see it next time! I too use their service...but, they should be made to fix those leaky trucks, they spill nasty stinking juice everywhere they go, it puddles at every stop! Maybe I'll pick up my damn phone n call the EPA!

When you buy cheap, you get cheap. Chesapeake is in a hurry. BFI took the time to close my cans and place them back inside my fence. Above and beyond the call. Chesapeake throws the cans one way, the lids the other and moves on. And I agree, they leave trash all over town during their collection in Delmar.
Don't put you sign in an easement zone. It's true, the county has a 6 ft easement from the curb. Simply move your sign back a little.
hahahaha, i love it... mccain is trash... i see that!
For the poster who said that the sign should be in the front yard I'd like to say that it is in the front yard. Chesapeake was contacted and the gentleman in charge apologized and said that he would speak with the crew in my neighborhood. As far as I'm concerned it's a done deal but I do find it both funny and disrespectful at the same time. If it was a mistake then it indicates a "lack of paying attention", especially after all the other times that our trash has been picked up and the can placed back exactly from where it was picked up.

My thoughts exactly !!!
I don't know man, I try to find deeper layers to human motivation and behavior. These guys are knee-deep in rotting, smelly stuff that you and I would consider a "pit of hell." Just try taking ONE load of dirty diapers out in the 90+ heat and you will realize that all you want to do is get your job done as quick as possible so that you can go home and shower (with bleach). I don't believe these people went out of their way to send you a protest statement-in fact, I believe this photo may be staged by a customer with an axe to grind, or a Repub trying to find a more creative way to promote his candidate (relax, I am voting for him too). Fact is, Chesapeake has always done very well in my neck of the woods..and in case you hadn't noticed-the last commenter (at least as I write) is the "aggrieved party", and even they stipulate their trash crew almost always "place the can back exactly where it was picked up." C'mon November...this election bickering (over really trivial crap-if a seagull craps on your precious sign does this mean SU is a Marxist front too?)is way too old, way too early.
They probably just threw the trash can over that way. God knows most trash pickers, like big rig drivers, aren't the most educated. If they were, they'd be working real jobs. Get over it.
The proper people have been notified and it will result
in someone getting fired , as well it should be . The county may have an easement 6 feet from the curb , but an easement doesn't give the county the right to remove or displace any or all of your property .
In all likelihood, somebody just got really careless.
Seriously doubt it's the great Democratic Trash Pick Up Conspiracy.
Like someone else said, just call the company and let them know so they can correct the problem with the poor guy who earns squat and made a mistake. Maybe he was tuckered out from his second job.
hahaha that pic is funny!!
well i can tell you they have thrown my trash can numerous times carelessly into my flower bed killing more then half. i have a paved drive way. i place it at the end. they empty and like someone says toss it no matter where it lands. I spend hours weekly in my yard and to have something so careless happen really upset me. but i moved on planted new flowers
C'mon ladies and gentlemen of our cyber jury....look CLOSELY. If the sign had sustained so much damage that it was bent/warped/cattle rustled-it would not still be standing (sort of like a "pristine bullet" for the conspiracy fans right behind the can. It may be trampled under, or behind (or as other readers note, IN the can), but it isn't going to get "Ike Turnered" like the photo suggests and still remain upright, immediately adjacent to the can (conveniently, with the company name and phone number so visible for the resulting tight photo shot). Isn't it the sweet Judge Judy who says "don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining."
Well now we know how much Chesapeake Trash pays there employees...
Man you guys are tough! Ragging on the trashmen! Let that be a lesson to you folks who put your political signs near the garbage.
I have had Chesapeake for about 2 years now. Sometimes the can ends up with one wheel in my flowerbeds, but as the other poster said I just move on. To those of you who are downing the trash pick up people? WTF? (I need Joes stamp). If you stop and think about what our world would be like without those that spend their lives cleaning up behind the majority? Street Sweepers, Landscapers, Trash Men, Dishwashers, Carpet Cleaners, Repairmen of all kinds....These people are the glue that holds our society together just as much as the bankers, lawyers, doctors and business owners. I would give money to see someone with a Harvard degree do any one of these "dirty jobs" for one week. I think a new respect would come from it.

With all due respect,BITE ME!My husband AND my father,as well as numerous other immediate family members, are professional truck drivers or "big rig drivers" and your comment was evident of how little you actually know about the profession. It is actually a tradition in my family and my cousin became the 1st female in the family to get behind the wheel last year. She is a college-educated woman who left a stifling office job for the open road.So much for your theory about intelligence....
The food you eat,the car you drive, all the sh*t that makes your life easier is transported by truck at some point on its way to you,the consumer. You try to do their job for one day.
I certainly appreciate all the fuss that you guys have made both for and against my sign being trampled but I don't harbor any bad feelings about the incident, I only wish that people would pay more attention to what they are doing. Driving a big rig takes skill, emptying trash cans requires a strong back and raising kids requires tremendous patience. I know that the collector probably doesn't even vote or if s/he does then it most likely will be for the Democratic candidate (judging by the resting place of my can). My problem is as I put it above, not paying attention to what you are doing (or maybe they did) and to not disrespect my yard or its contents.
Once again thanks for all of the comments.
I can see the cat doesn't look very happy about the event either LoL : )
Hell twist their arm for a free month of garbage pickup for destruction of property and for going to the trouble of getting another sign and all that good stuff. Can't hurt.
Anyone that thinks, for one minute, that the act of crushing that campaign sign was accidental has as much intelligence as the Chesapeake trash collectors. That was definitely deliberate! If his/her eyes are that bad...Chesapeake needs to get them off the roads.
i hope the "uneducated" trash collectors stop picking up your cans and let you "educated" folks get your hands dirty taking your own mess to the dump. what elitist snobs!! try taking your own advise and get yourselves a life and a real job!
