There's Nothing Better Than Great Friends & Maryland Crabs!
The ONLY thing that spoiled this unbelievable meal was knowing all the trees that were killed to use the Daily Times as a table cloth!
We were humbled to visit our friends Frank & Melissa down in Princess Anne the other day to enjoy absolutely fantastic, fat and juicy Maryland Crabs, Oysters and a Big Fat Cigar to top it all off.
I have neglected to mention last month my input on the food at the Tawes Festival. The Crabs Sucked! You could literally crush them in your hand and there was absolutely no meat in them. Granted, we were there for the fellowship for the most part but when we sat down to ear the crabs, they were NOTHING like what we had the other night! I was extremely disappointed in the crabs in Crisfield, I'm sorry to say. If you were there, what did you think? Only those people willing to sign their name will hold any credibility towards an answer to that question.
Princess Anne sure is a beautiful place Folks!

New to the SBY area. Would love to know if there is a legit place to buy a dozen or 2 steamed crabs??
I've seen Chesapeake Treasures, right off of Rt 50. Just not sure of where to go for a couple dozens.
Go to Saxis Island and talk to the watermen, they'll hook you up.
There is a place on Eastern Shore Drive you can get a couple dozen, then there is the place over on Old Ocean City Rd and then there is the place at the intersection of Riverside/Camden/Mill and Carroll Streets.
Hooper's just before you go over the 50 bridge in OC is having a "blowout" (as they called it) on medium crabs. A bushel is $80 and a half bushel is $49. We bought a half bushel last night and though they were on the small side they were very good. I don't mind a small crab as long as it is full of meat when you pick it.

Thanks for the replies. Guess if there aren't any local favorites then I'll just call and check availability and prices etc. Thanks again
joe, never steam the crab up-side down in the pot.
11:13 - I've never heard that. Why not?
anon 11:51 another tidbit. Never eat a steamed crab if the mouth is laying open when served to you.The crab was dead before it was steamed. You all know that seafood spoils very fast.Hardhead
anon 11:13>Watersman mith BAD LUCK
10:56am, go to Pinchers....across from SU. You can buy the "all you can eat" for about the price of 2dozen, their a few bucks less than old mill
hip.boots
Red Roost is better and cheaper than the Old Mill. Well worth the trip! Better atmosphere and service.
ANON 12:43 PINCHERS IS GOOD.BEEN TWICE.FIRST TIME CRABS WRER MEDIUM AND FULL OF MEAT.SECOND TIME CRABS WERE OF POOR QUALITY WATERY AND NOT AS FULL,SMALLER TO BOOT.ALL THE EXTRAS WERE ACCEPTABLE.TAKE ACHANCE.RED ROAST AND OLD MILL IS 15 MILES.HARDHEAD
I work in P.A. and love the people there. Frank and his wife I have had several dealings with thru work and they are 'good people'.
For crabs or any other seafood Beach To Bay right behind the Mcdonalds in P.A. Again great people and AWSOME food.
