On August 26, 2008 at approximately 9:28 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department arrested the below listed suspect following the investigation of the theft of prescription medication. It was reported earlier to the Salisbury Police that a victim had been confronted by the suspect, who was known to the victim, and made to give the suspect the victim’s prescription oxycodone and an amount of U.S. Currency.
ARRESTED: Jordan Paul Adams, 18 years of age Salisbury, Maryland
CHARGES:
Theft (under $500)
Conspiracy to commit theft
Possession of a controlled dangerous substance
DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 200800021426
On August 26, 2008 at approximately 11:45 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department arrested the below listed suspect on four (4) outstanding District Court Bench Warrants from Talbot and Caroline Counties, for failing to appear in court for motor vehicle charges.
ARRESTED: Toni Collier Womack, 42 years of age St. Michaels, Maryland
CHARGES:
Talbot Co. Bench Warrant – Failure to appear
Talbot Co. Bench Warrant - Failure to appear
Talbot Co. Bench Warrant – Failure to appear
Caroline Co. Bench Warrant – Failure to appear
DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 200800031679, 31690, 31694, 31696
On August 26, 2008 at approximately 6:00 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department were called to respond to the area of Jefferson St. and Harrington St. for the report of a large fight. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with the large crowd which began to disperse. The below listed suspect became disorderly, inciting the crowd, and caused the crowd to regroup and become violent. Officers took the suspect into custody, and in the process of struggling with the suspect, Officer Jonas Barry received an injury to his shoulder. The suspect was not injured. Officer Barry was transported to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center for treatment, where he was treated and released.
ARRESTED: Abrahim Elihy Muhammad-Bey, 21 years of age Salisbury, Maryland
CHARGES:
Second degree assault (2 counts)
Assault of a law enforcement officer (2 counts)
Resisting arrest (2 counts)
Disorderly conduct
Failure to obey a lawful order

It is hoped we have seen the end of nol pros and that some of these people will actually be brought to justice. Joe, have you any idea why the number of nol pros and stet cases is incredibly high? Some of the charges are very, very serious ones. What is the point in arresting them?????
Until the state's attorney's office stops making deals with defense lawyers and the judges start showing some " balls ", you will continue to see this travesty.Last week the Daily Times printed 26 district court cases in Wicomico County--only ONE was sentenced to serve time (53 days ), two pleaded guilty, two were aquitted, and the other 21 cases were "stet", "nol pros" or "PBJ". I don't know how the cops stand this crap !!
The reason for the high number of nol pros and stet cases is not only the prosecution, but largely because victims and witnesses don't show up to court to testify. Officers spend many of their days off in court only to have the victim recant their testimony or witnesses fail to show up. dinosaur 7:22, I don't know how they put up with this crap either! It is very disheartening.
There is something familiar to this suspect or was it a family member?
Wow-the whole area around Doverdale park has become thug-city.There were problems with large crowds in the streets in that area FIVE yrs ago and you see what happens when nothing is done.
I'm sure there are witnesses who recant or don't show up, but there are many of these cases involving drug possession, intent to distribute, driving to elude a police officer, DUI, etc., that require no witnesses. What is happening and how do we stop it? Should lots of us show up in court every day? I would be willing. Do we need to make appointments with prosecutors to express concerns?
