Do you believe in life after death?

Do you believe in heaven and hell, or any place like these?

What do you think happens after death?

I really don't know what happens after death, but I know I believe in neither heaven nor hell. I believe that we all have an energy essense, a soul if you will, and energy doesn't just disappear after the body dies. It must go somewhere, but where? None of us can really know. Perhaps it becomes reabsorbed by the All, for whatever purpose.

I want to say I beleive in a higher being, but when you die, your body gets devoured by worms and beetles. Period. We all know this. Now, what happens to your soul, well I am not sure.

We will all find out one day.....

The Bible clearly states that we can know for sure what happens to us when we die. We were created to be eternal beings, but in the garden of Eden man sinned and the punishment for that sin is death--for all men and women. But because of God's great love for us, he sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to be the sacrifice for our sins, even though He was perfect. All we have to do is believe that we are sinners, pray and ask God to forgive us of our sins and accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior. By accepting this, God's gift of salvation, He gives us a home for all eternity in heaven. If we do not accept this free gift, then we will go to hell for all eternity. You can have this free gift, it's your choice. Just pray and receive Christ--it's as simple as that.

I do believe in God the whole universe just did'nt appear. However, I also believe in evolution and although we like to think of ourselves as superior the sad truth is we are only animals with higher intellect. I really hope there is an afterlife but like anonymous said no one can really know but there has to be some kind of energy release.

Since no one alive today is capable of being everywhere in the universe at one time--none of us can know the mysteries of the universe from within our selves or even from the collective information of past or present human beings...that leaves us with basically two options...either we cannot possibly know about life after death because the information is "unknowable" or we must rely on someone who "inhabits eternity". I have chosen to believe the God who inhabits eternity regarding my "unanswerable questions". If God is not the source of information about origins and purpose and destinations--we are stuck taking the word or beliefs of temporary and limited beings and betting our eternal future on their finite wisdom--I cannot place my faith there. (And for those who suggest that my faith is naive or foolish--think about those whose faith is so strong that they can accept that everything we see in the universe, nature, and in our own marvelous body complexity--came from absolutely nothing! Their faith is actually stronger than mine--but I think also more naive and foolish than mine as well.)
Great question of the day--certainly a thought-provoker!

I don't know what the hereafter has in store for me or anyone else.It is not a concern of mine.I have some health issues that could be terminal or correctable. The next month or two of tests will answer that question.
I am not afraid of death. The dead are at peace. It is the living that have to suffer the loss.If my condition is terminal,I want enough time to be able to lessen my daughter's loss.

How very interesting the answers are to such a "deep" question. Your readers have surprised me with such their deeply profoound statements.

To me, the Spirit is the goodness in all of us, it is up to us how to live; a life of loving kindness or hate and anger. That is heaven or hell, and how we are here an now is how it will be for all eternity, Heven or Hell.

Do you believe in life after death?
Of course! "The amount of energy in the universe remains constant; it just changes forms." (Einstein)

Do you believe in heaven and hell, or any place like these?
Of course! Hell is right here on Earth where we keep being reincarnated & returning here go though "the fire" till we are good enough, or take the short cut though Jesus' sacrifice, to become pure essence with God!
(Soi.disant, modified Platonism)

What do you think happens after death?
See above!
