I don't mean to bore many of you with complaints but I just this very moment saw a Shore Transit Bus come past my Office on the Plaza where she had almost a complete load of people on the Bus, she was taking the hard curve with one hand on the steering wheel and the other on a cell phone, laughing her a$$ off in a conversation with someone.
I don't know about all of you but for me, the Driver better be OFF the phone while I'm taking a ride and paying for it and concentrating on the road! There has to be a Policy in that company forbidding such a thing, hence the Bus number on the title, hint, hint. If they deny it, look at their cell phone records for a call at 6:34 PM.
If you need any more information, well, you know where to reach me. Safety first, RIGHT?

Shore Transit hires low quality people at low cost. I have called their office to complain about those bus drivers speeding all the time and they do nothing about it.
Shore Transit gets County funding so voice your complaints to your elected officials as well.

I love the fact we have transit but the quality of the drivers is really bad. Phone and food in hand they floor it and move about. I will say the buses are very clean and I would rather be riding then walking. Note to anyone thinking about it: If the State Police have a bug up their butt you can get ticketed for hitch hiking

Our company has spent over $100K with Gannett advertising and they rarely ever got out an ad without a type O!
I have witnessed the drivers on the phone especially the Pocomoke to OC route.
Calling the office gets nothing done.
Other than a few free tickets to shut me up.
I wrote to every Mayor, Dept. of Tourism, Dept. of Economic Dev. and to all of the Commissioners in Worcester County begging for a 3am bus from OC to Pocomoke so that the nightclub and bar staff could get home instead of sleeping at the park n ride in West OC. Not only could people from the south end of the county work the nights in OC but think of how many people could get home safely after the bars close if they would provide such a bus.
I recieved two reply's one from a Commissioner, and one from Shore transit saying that they would take it under advisement.
My kids have ridden the bus for years and they are constantly complaining the drivers and their cell phone usage.
I've heard that that's how they get their drug deals going. I bet that if the sheriff would stop one of them un-announced? they would provably find much stuff that's for sure.
I just happen to know a driver for Shore Transit and He is more than dedicated, follows the rules, is probably too good of a man to work for them. Never calls in sick, works overtime - the kind of employee I wish I could have in my company. HE is one of kind, a jewel, never complains! Its too bad he has to work with some of the less quality folks!
TO WHOMEVER STARTED THIS: It is unsafe to talk on cell without a headset when driving, however someone always has to complain!!! Be blessed that you have that public transportation, if you have a problem with the driver being on the phone WALK!!! If the transportation wasn't available you'd bitch about that!!!
