I was just informed the ladder truck that injured Firefighter David Merrit that ended his career went out of service, again, this past weekend. Bubba For Mayor!

I guess your forgot about the recent inspection that posted about. The parts came in and now its in Hebron for the repairs
the truck was left in service , with only the ladder being out of service unitl the parts came in to fix the aerial device. The truck was still being used to bring tools, such as ground ladders and saws to the scene.
But if its in service it is in service as a ladder truck correct? Not a tool toter. so when next due calls for ladder it would be considered in service correct? Easy now i have allready talked to central on this.
What ladder truck was at the accident last night between Walmart and Wawa on North 13 around 6:00 pm?
I thought of you Joe when I saw this accident and wondered if you were on scene. Wish I had my camera to take a picture of it for you. There was one engine, ladder truck, ambulance and an SFD Excursion.
By the way I'm not from Salisbury. I'm from the Berlin/Ocean City area. So I have no bias against the SFD.

So you're saying it went back into commission and then pulled again for the serious repairs that should have been done, but weren't?

Very Cool Answer, thank you for sharing it. Well, at least we're up to date. Some of the "inside sources" should get their facts straight.

DONT YOUR ENGINES HAVE LADDERS AND SAWS ON THEM ? WHY WASTE THE FUEL?

The engines carry a 10' attic ladder, a 14' roof ladder & a 28' extension ladder. A ladder truck carries in excess of 200' of assorted ground ladders.
Do you see a differance here yet?
Wasnt the aerial ladder used at a house fire B Shift had this past Friday by Perdue. Then it was pulled out of service saturday morning?
I was wrong. Looked at the FITHP website and saw that 2 Truck was used. My apologies.
Engines carry 24' extension ladders! Check your facts before you post something.

200 feet? What is the tallest building in Salisbury? 70 foot?
Anon 8:49AM, please read ALL of the words. It said 200' of ASSORTED ladders. That means ladders of various lengths which totals more than 200'.
