Does Mike Lewis Owe The City of Salisbury?

Lynn Cathcart has always condemned people for criticizing but not offering any solutions. At a recent city council budget hearing Lynn took her turn at the podium criticizing everyone and anyone that does not choose to be taxed to death while living with substandard infrastructure, in America's 10th most dangerous city. Once she finished screeching like an owl, criticizing the citizenry, she could not walk away like the hipocrite she has become and not offer any solutions. In her infinite wisdom, Lynn Cathcart has single handedly solved the problem of the Salisbury Police Department being understaffed. She has decided, Mike Lewis.mp3 owes the city.

It's possible, in his spare time (yeah right) Mike will give your request some consideration. In the mean time, it wouldn't be wise to hold your breath while you wait for his response, the city can't afford to send a paramedic out to help you.

I'd say where Cathcart's head is, but the word in not appropriate on this blog. However, her skeletal flexibility is really something to see.

I bet she's voting for obama too, now that hilary's out

Where did that illiterate moron get that logic?? How does the Sheriff's Office owe the city of Salisbury the equivalent of 6 officers because they were "targeting college students."

We are so fortunate that Lynn Fatfart is no longer on the city council. She talks like she has a mouth fool of doggie doo!!

Yes, the city residents pay county taxes, they deserve to have county sheriff patrols and 911 responses. If they arn't going to get that service they need a county tax break.

Lynn needs to get a life! The city lies in Wicomico County and like it or not Mike Lewis is the supreme law officer of this county. If he wanted to do so he can over ride anything Chief Jack and Coke or Dingle berry says when it comes to enforcement of a law.

The county officers stay very busy in the corporate limits of Salisbury...Thank you, Mike Lewis and WICOSD, What Lynn said was insulting and inaccurate.

Has Miss Know-It-All stopped to look at how many calls the County Sheriff arrives at to assist, how many arrests they already make in the City? Maybe the City owes the County for all the Sheriff Dept.'s excellent service covering city law enforcement.

Lynns mouth engages while her brain is on hiatus. Is this her way of supporting Barries tax differential? She wants Rick Pollitt to hand over a pile of money so she can piss it in the wind. NOT gonna happen. IF, Rick and the County Council ever give a tax differential/set off or whatever Barrie wants to call it, they should offset the property taxes of every city property owner NOT give the city one red cent. You'll see smoke rising from the city side of the GOB if that were ever done.

8:14 --

Not only does the Sheriff Dept. do lots of police work in Salisbury, but the County gives big bucks to the SFD -- thru the vollies -- and that's how Salisbury can replace 5 fire engines this year. As far as a special tax break (it's called a "differential") is concerned: FUGETABOUTIT!

If Lynn Cathcart had her way Salisbury would have a gate all the way around it and no one from the county would be allowed in.

The sheriff deputies already do their fair share in the city. They caught those college hoodlums & when a wanted individual was seen next door, we called & they were there in SECONDS. (not minutes)

Each year the Wicomico County Sheriffs Office prepares a document which outlines all services provided to Salisbury City by the Sheriffs Office.
The list of duties and responsibilities is long and significant. To list but a few: Providing security to the Circuit Court which is located in the City. Serves all documents concerning land lord and tenant actions and over sees all tenant evictions, a very time consuming process. Deputies regularly serve warrants within the City limits in addition to making on site arrest within the city.
The list goes on and on with the bottom line being the City receives more in monetary value of services rendered from the Sheriffs Office than it claims it should received as a tax rebate.
In addition since the leadership of the Salisbury Police Dept changed some years ago the Police Dept., has withdrawn from a number of multi agency programs which were saving the city significant numbers of dollars.
For example Chief Dykes and the former Sheriff had and agreement to share the Cities Tactical Team and the Counties K-9 program. Each of these programs are very expensive to build and maintain.
One of the first actions of the Chief was to withdraw from that agreement forcing the County to establish it's own tactical unit. However the City still uses the Counties K-9 resources.
When the County and the State Police created the Combined Criminal Investigation Unit in order to more effectively investigate serious crimes in Wicomico County the City Police opted to not participate.
The only program of shared responsibilities which continues since its inception in the late 80's is the Narcotics Task Force. And although the City maintains a presence in that unit it has withdrawn a number of its personnel. For all but a few years of the existence of the Task Force the County has provided the building which house's the unit and the property it was located on.
Suffice it to say the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office owes the City of Salisbury nothing more than it is already receiving.

Dear Salisbury Residents,
My heart is breaking as I see this city failing and falling apart. It truly is becoming so much like Camden, N.J.. My wife wants to move and so do I. Last year a man was beat on the head with a baseball bat, robbed and his car stolen on our quiet street. We called 911 for the police and ambulance. The ambulance shown up in approx. 10 minutes and the police shown up 20 minutes after the call. WOW and the fu##*&^ ASSHOLES on city council say crime is managable. Our neighborhood is/was truly a retreat. Our neighbors have stepped up their alertness but we do need more police patrols. I see a cop maybee once every two months. I absolutly HATE Barrie, TheFat Fu##-Gary and the dimwit Shannie. How do these people get in office? Stick your heads up your a$$ and let the city go to hell. I know the answer can't be solved by "government" alone, but dammit get somebody in there who will be a realist and motivater. Signed - Heartbroken

To give credence to anything Cathcart and the other members of the so-called Dream Team say is laughable at best, dangerous at worst. She, Dunn, Comegys, and Shields are 4 of the worst council members ever elected. Now you can add Smith to that list. And the mayor-we all know nothing she says can be believed.

Hey Ms. Catfart:

If you hear a strange noise in your house, best call the sheriff, not the SPD, first.

I think maybe the Sheriff's Office ought to pull over the Catfarts to make sure they are safe and no violations on their vehicles to hurt anyone. It would only be for their safety.

County and city law enforcement officers work together extremely well together on the streets (definition for people that have never worked the streets or havent worked em in decades: they back each other up more than anyone knows and road officers from both agencies can tell you a time where a member from the other agency either saved their butt or was their back up in something). Thats how its supposed to be. The problem is when you go from law enforcment officer to law enforcement ADMINISTRATOR thats where the "playing well with others" has difficulties. My solution is county police force, forget jurisdictional boundaries, politics and focus on the problems to achieve solutions. Not create more problems that put up more barriers to solve crimes and apprehend criminals. But to be frank, that stuff aint going to happen cause to put it plainly no one will fight for the poor men and women that just wanna make a difference and protect and serve the public. It's ABM and IGM (all about money and I got mine) dont rock the boat cause they might kick you out

Me too, abolish the city charter and desolve the city administration. We would never again have to hear the whining and the term "Duplicated services."
