Child Attacked By Fox In Salisbury?

I'm being told there was a fox attack on Thursday afternoon at the church school camp east of Salisbury.

I'm told he was taken to PRMC and six shots were given to start the rabies treatment.

I do not have a confirmation on this and I truly have been trying to gain access to such information but no one is talking? I even have the child's name but of course I'm not going to produce that.

Can someone else out there confirm this to be true? Do NOT put up a name as I will not allow that to be posted. Thanks!

Is that really "in Salisbury" or the County?

Yes, it's true. It happened at the day camp on Hobbs Road. The camp is run by the church. There are 6 kids in a group, they were walking through the trails, supervised when a fox jumped out and attacked the boy. He was bitten 4 times. A gentleman with the camp shot the fox. The fox was sent off for rabies testing. The kids thought it was the coolest thing for this gentleman to come to their rescue by killing the attacking fox.

We can blame envirolmentalist for this.
The fox population has gotten out of control.
Trappers used to be able to trap foxes, and in several counties in Maryland you can no longer trap them.

One of the indicators is the decline in wild duck populations and more drakes than females, as females will sit on their nest to protect it to keep the fox from getting her eggs.

Fish and Game authorities need to take a hard look at the management of our wildlife. We have been deferring wisdom to a bunch of people who don't want to see anything be killed, but the balance must be kept.

We've had more problems with fox than anything else for the past 3 years. Running a chicken farm is not an easy chore when the fox population continues to increase. They are detrimental to our farming operation therefore we do what needs to be done to protect our livelihood. If DNR wants to come out and do it for us, great, until then, we'll protect what is ours.

More nonsense from wymzie. What do "envirolmentalists" have to do with rabid foxes? Perhaps we should just pave all the woods so they have no place to hide, eh?
