ADVISE TEENS TO STAY FROM OC

Not only are the travelers getting screwed by the oil companies for traveling to-and-from Ocean City, but also,of particular interest, is the staggering number of DUI arrest in OC as opposed to the other local localities.

For a six day period from June 2 - June 8 -(6 days)- there were 24 DUI charged in Ocean City alone. In comparison, State Police Barrack - (Wicomico Co.), reported 8, State Police Barrack - (Worcester Co.), reported 6.

So my advise to people who are considering traveling to an OC tavern is . . . better stay at home.

Stats speak for themselves:

GO HERE to see the actual arrests.

Are you sure those numbers aren't because of the crazy "June Bugs" It's crazy over here now... then the firemen come to Seacrets.

Hey, the purpose of a vacation is to relax and party. No law against that!! However there is a law against driving drunk. O.C. does provide bus transportation. What about walking?. I would expect more DUI's this time of year. O.C. it's much to crowed to drive in, even if your sober. Party on and be safe.

I would actually advise teens not to drink, much less drink and drive.
They don't act like this at their own towns, they just save it all for good ole Ocean City Md. Thank you very much! And have a great day!

My neighbor drives much more safely when drunk than when she is on her cell phone giving somebody hell.

Ocean City bills itself as a Family Destination. There are far too many bars for that.

I would advise not to drink and drive. Maybe that's just me though. Seems as though the PoPo in OC are on the ball and the rest might want to take notes.

Just a question- Didn't Worcester county or Ocean City just change or add laws that allow them to treat drinking crimes differently, making them local instead of state ordinance violations? I think it was the drinking in public laws, but it kinda makes sense that if the local cops are looking for drinking more closely, then they'll be more likely to find it. Oh, and I'm sure the fine payments are pumping up OC's coffers as well.

You are a dumbass if you go drinking in OC and don't walk to the bar or pay $2 to ride the drunk bus. While *you* may know *your* limits, you've also got to deal with drinking jaywalkers and plenty of drunk drivers on the road that can damage your car, too.

Lets us compare the numbers of 'teenagers' in ocean city, to the number of teenagers in worcester and wicomico county. I'm sure the numbers are right in line to the population.

That is totally neglecting the fact that it is senior week here, and 'teenagers' are making many bad choices on a daily bases.

I for one wish there was a much greater emphasis on arresting drunk drivers, whether they are teenagers or adults.
