This is good news, indeed! However, isn't it true that people who commit themselves to such a facility are also free to discharge themselves when they see fit?

When they enter a facility like that, they sign a voluntary comit form for 72 hours. The leaving AMA process takes about 24 hours in a metnal health setting, unless you are a threat to yourself or others and then they hold a hearing to see if you need to be committed by the state.

I know that a lot of students were concerned for their safety after the email yesterday. For the admin to be as vauge as they did, it raised alarm as to who, what, when, where, and mainly, why.

The rumor is not true. The doctor that Director Devinns had assigned misdiagnosed him. Therefore sending his to a mental hospital where they ran hundreds of tests for a period of 9 days. There, the many doctors that were testing him found NOTHING wrong with him. The investigation is over and has been over for about a week or so. There were false statements made and now there will be a price to pay.
