Breaking News Update On OC Fire Department

I have from a credible source that there is a different plan brewing between the OCVFC and the Town Offcials, after many hours of working with the proposal from the Mayor to Chief Larmore.

This new direction if accepted by the Mayor and City Council would not only retain OCVFC on the island, but signifcatly build the 103 year old orgazation in the future.

Futhermore, it would appease the City Manager and the Union of Paramedics that this plan does not require the Volunteer Chief to assume command over the current paid personel.

This story is developing, and trust that Salisbury News will have the facts first. Matter of fact, I predict we will find and produce the offcial plan first, long before the Daily Times.

Was this plan conceived in Western Maryland?

Will this plan keep a rift between the two organazations or will it unify them?

Of course there will be a rift between the two.
Any time you have union people and volunteers doing the same thing in the same place there is going to be a rift.
And you have the screwed up city council to thank for this mess.
Send your college kid over to OC to start a recall.

Who might this "reliable source" be?

Volunteer Deputy Chief supervises paid / career personnel in Salisbury with no problems. Why not in OC?

"Volunteer Deputy Chief supervises paid / career personnel in Salisbury with no problems. Why not in OC?"

Volunteer Deputy Chief must have qualifications to do so. Furthermore, the fire chief himself isn't a volunteer taking Officer I classes from the paid department he wishes to oversee.
