In for a Penny, In for a Pound ...

... Does John Pick have any shame? Yes, that question was obviously rhetorical.

There appear to be no depths to which the Tilghman administration will not sink in their attempt to obfuscate the truth regarding what many consider the worst financial report in the history of Salisbury. In today's Daily Times, City Administrator John Pick again claims that staffing is to blame for the Tilghman administration's abysmal record of fiscal stewardship:
It's easy for somebody to be critical, and nobody is saying we don't have a responsibility to do it right, but give us the tools to get the job done.
Is staffing at the city's finance office a problem? Yes. The auditor has clearly stated so for at least the last two years.

Has the city council refused to give the Tilghman administration the tools that they need? No. For at least the last two budget cycles, Councilwoman Debbie Campbell (and Councilwoman Terry Cohen this year) has repeatedly asked the Tilghman administration (and city finance chief Pam Oland in particular) if additional staff or resources were needed in order to do their job properly and get the city's audit out on time. In each instance the response was NO!

Any attempt by Tilghman, Pick or Oland to deflect responsibility by pointing to staffing or other resources is disingenuous at best. But this is Barrieland, that magical land were truth has no meaning and lies (at least those from the city's ruling elite) are given credence on the front page of your morning paper.

Has the city issued my tax rebate check yet?

GA, please refrain from posting these editorials. My lie-o-meter is smoking and will not hold up to all of this.

One thing the citizens can count as one of their greatest resources is G.A.'s political insights and the deftness of his writing skills.
We particularly need these now. Barrie has no one who can match him and his words cut right to the core of her rottenness. She can pummell others, but not G.A.

Barrie you've finally met your match in the cohesiveness of G.A., The Dirty Dozen and citizens who are saying "Enough Is Enough".

Give it up, Barrie, you've burned your last bridge with us!

You know what is comical Joe, I have a feeling you didn't write this report as there is the use of the word "obfuscate" which in and by itself is above your efforts. This is why I love reading what goes on your site. If you did write this then you had your coffee this morning and watched the sun come up with the horses. You are always good for a laugh. I even heard your site was the talk of the "local" coffee assemblage this morning. Thanks for being so articulate.

Joe..see if you can get a copy of the FY2007 budget request from the finance dept. You will see that an additional accoutant was requested by the dept. but denied by the mayor and not put into her budget presented to council.

I can't make it at 4:30 however I may show up before it's over. Better yet I have a new face that will be present at the GOB to take my place. Save me a bumper sticker Joe!

Kevin Griffin, the end of the post clearly states "Posted by G.A. Harrison" of the Delmarva Dealings blog, which is partnered with SBYnews.com.

So, we all know Joe did not write this, nor is he claiming to have.

Well this is fabulous news. People are talking. It's a start. Now if they would get off their collective bottoms and show up it would be a new day in Salisbury.

But kudos to Joe for all his effort in smoking out the rats in the Government Office Building.

GA & Joe -- one hits high and one a bit lower (cuts em' down at the knees).

If the Giants can beat the Patriots, we can stop Barrie and her Scheme Team.

Maybe if Hillary is elected, she'll make Barrie the White House pooper scooper!

I have been comming to this site for about a month now off and on, bottom line is this is NOT A NEWS BLOG this is just a bitch blog about everyone that does not sit well with Mr. Joe Albero. Easy targets to shout about TAXES!!! RAISES!!!! MAYOR!!!! I agree some things are worthy but a news blog this is not. Get over the zoo joe your wife got fired happens daily...leave the fire dept. alone you don't and won't serve, they won't have you. Quite bitchen and run for mayor of Delmar, I am sure you wioll have a ton of supporters. Insult the Daily times, you claim to be BREAKING news with a staff of one, yet you can't even cover a basketball game because you are bitching about the city you do not live in, or praising a sheriff that does not serve you. And a Andy Harris who is another come here who cares not about the Eastern shore, and just wants to get our vote not your vote joe but our vote. The mayor is not the best choice but your disrespect for the position, is repulsive, as well as for the Police chief, I don't like him but Irespect his position. You are a braggert about your money and your $ power, how did you make all your money joe? It is apparent you have no formal education or you would conduct yourself just a little more professional, at another level. Maybe you should attend the Peace fair being held joe at Parkside I hear it is for guys like you.
I know you won't post because this speaks the truth. take a Dale Carnige course joe it can only help you. I do think you bring forth some VERY important issues, you make people ask questions all good things your approch is imature and def uneducated.

Hey anon 10:32,
You have the right to call someone unprofessional, I respect that right. But, at least use spell check. Better to let those around you assume you are ignorant then to open your mouth and confirm it!!
Beside that issue, Joe did not even write this.
Get a life!! You obviously do not understand the brevity of this situation. That being said, you are probably one who believes the bs that this government feeds you.

the last post confirms the position of 10:32. If someone disagrees with you people you pull out the "Spell check" to put someone down. I have yet to hear one of you people offer anything but bitchen. I assume that most of you do not have a spell check on your machine, as most of the post contain some form of error. 10:32 was correct and was very professional in his disagreement with Mr. Albero, they both agree just not in the same manner, one is abusive one is a educated, or so it would seem.

Anon 10:32 does need to re-examine what he or she is saying about the Albero blog. If you like the mayor, as you seem to, or maybe you are the mayor?, then come right out and say your akin to her and believe her administration of this city has no problems. If that is your thinking, then you are a lot sicker then you try to make Joe Albero out to be!

Not everyone has a gift for the powerful words put out there by Joe, G.A., Bob Caldwell, Jim Ireton and of course our lovely sisters of rules and order, Terry and Debbie. The above I do believe have cornered the market on integrity.

This subject has barely just scratched the surface and before it is over I hope criminal charges are filed against somebody. The taxpayers have been robbed by atrocious money grubbing pimps and Ho's. And we ain't done bitchin' yet~!!

1:47:
both lack a command of English, whether or not "educated".
11:58 surely meant "gravity" of the situation as opposed to "brevity".
but we digress...

Would not those lauded by Mr. Chaney make a GREAT council???

Tim Spies also should be on that list, I don't know how I could have forgotten him.
