It turns out, Louise Smith has prepared a 2-page speech to showboat in very bad taste to the taxpayers they know will be showing up in masses this evening at 4:30.
Don't tell me those people don't read this Blog! They are in damage control like you've NEVER seen before and quite frankly, this is not the time nor the place to showboat and take center stage.
That being said, should Louise Smith go into reading a prepared 2 page speech in the beginning OR the end of the Council Work Session, I strongly suggest everyone get up out of their seats and leave the room immediately.
By doing so, this will clearly send a message that it is too late for excuses. We as taxpayers have had enough of their lies and mismanagement of our funds. Louise Smith fed everyone her BS about accountability during her campaign, yet she is NOT the one finding these errors and instead comes out AFTER the fact with prepared speeches.
This is not a game. There are no rules and they cannot tell us we cannot get up and leave the room.

Doing that (walking out) will only draw criticism and divert attention from the facts of the matter. Let Louise pontificate and/or obfuscate as she surely will and then we can replay her statement at the City Council meeting in Dec. when she said that she and Barrie had resolved all the concerns. And I would love to hear some of the promises Louise made about the City audit during those forums and debates held in the election campaign last year.
Great plan to show citizen solidarity. Hope the press is there to cover this peaceful protest against Louise/Barrie/Gary/Shanie. Louise, don't grandstand now 'cause we've seen you try this before. We've very tired of it. Talk to your minister, Louise, maybe he can help you.
Focus people...FOCUS! This is about 10 Million dollars gone missing while they raised the tax cap, then hit us for a 14% increase. This needs to be LESS about JOE and MORE about MONEY! Don't get up and leave when Louise talks...bring a piece of duck tape and put it over your mouth - Tilghman has silenced since 1998...say nothing in silent protest!
Please folks, be polite and show the minimal respect by listening in silence. I disagree with Joe this time, but still am thankful for his interest and effort in saving Salisbury from the Mayor and her clique.

I don't want to challenge you just to challenge you but here's my thoughts. First of all, I find it VERY interesting how all of a sudden, out of nowhere, a few people come on here respectfully disagreeing with my suggestion here.
OK, that's cool and all. However, IF it was any of the people I know, they would have debated this on the phone and or through an e-mail to me personally.
That being said, I personally believe this is Barrie Tilghman and or her followers trying to make this thing turn out far less important than it actually is.
I said, do what YOU think is right. If YOU feel Louise Smith is a day late and $19,000,000.00 short, walk out of the room.
Remember, it was $10.2 mil just recently and $8.8 mil through the water & sewer fund, equalling $19 million dollars that just disappeared in recent months. Yeah, if I didn't have a camera, I'd walk out.
I'm just gonna stand and turn my back on her to show that I have no respect and no confidence.

Barrie and her bunch would love to have a mass walkout on Louise, so why would they try to prevent it from happening? If it takes place they get a free trump card to play -- again and again -- don't do it or urge others to, please.
There aught to be an independant investigation of the Tilghman administration & it's mismanagement of public funds. If I was in Smith's shoes, i would demand it. Let's see where else can we find a few more million$$$

The mayor was heard telling Louise they needed to work on, "Her game plan?" Is it the mayor that sets the agenda and still pulls the puppet strings?
I still say it's a shame that we aren't still in the Dark Ages so that we can publicly flog them all live on PAC-14~! I guess PAC-14 in the Dark Ages amounted to an artist and a scribe.
I'm sure the city administration's shtick relies on Louise's ability to translate the ancient Pharaoh's hieroglyphics, that hold the key to how this city is managed from an ancient text~!
Louise... if you can't run a meeting you need to step down you are clearly incompetent~!

when this audit report first came to light, i wondered and said so in this blog, if the new found 10 mil. included the water & sewer 8 or so mil.
Still wondering????? Is it included, or is it in addition to this 10+ million?
If it included the water department surplus that was discovered many months ago, how could it have disappeared and once again appeared?
This new found money is new found money. The water and sewer fund is held in separate accounts. These 2 new accounts found by the auditors are a cash account $5.3 million and an investment account $4.9 million.
