DALLAS -- A motorcycle police officer preceding Hillary Rodham Clinton's motorcade was killed Friday after his motorcycle struck a concrete guardrail on an overpass just outside the city's downtown.

Dallas police identified the officer as Victor Lozada-Tirado and said he joined the force in 1988. He was married and had four children.

Clinton cut short her second scheduled event of the day in Fort Worth and gave brief and subdued remarks to a crowd gathered at First and Main streets in downtown Dallas. She told supporters she had spoken with police officials, who told her the officer was a 20-year department veteran.

Come on, this headline is waaaay over the top! The poor guy ran into a curb on his own, Clinton's motorcade did not kill him. Last year, the same thing happened to a cop in Bush's motorcade, and I din't see any headlines like this. Do not use a good man's death for political purposes.

This is a very managed newspiece. The early radio reports stated that the motorcycle escort driver hit a curb and then was struck by the motorcaid. Every news story globally is identical. Truth and accurate news items come in stereo or kaleidoscope. Fiction and lies are monochromatic. It is standard procedure for security details to continue moving ahead, even when death ensues. That standard maneuver most likely contributed to the death of the officer.

The Clinton campaign is well advised to continue managing this story. The voting public likely recalls the line where Chelsea Clinton referred to her Secret Service detail as 'Private Pigs'. There were many similar disparagements of law enforcement and military personnel during the Clinton CoPresidency.

The political necessity to manage this story is apparent. The fallen policeman is Hispanic, in Texas. Early voting for the Texas March 4th Presidential Primary is underway. Hillary must win the Hispanic vote overwhelmingly to keep her candidacy alive. Favors are called in. Google hit menus are routinely bought and sold.

The likely truth of the tragic accident is not all that bad. But the political necessity of managing the news coverage is quite evident. So far the press management is superb. The truth can out, as long as it waits until after March 4.
