Very professional letter and a very proactive businessman. I think he handled this very well. Bravo!
I'm thinking that would be a "she." She wrote a very professional letter, and she is a good businesswoman. Not to be too picky, but I'm sure here mother would like her to get credit!

Besides that, they admitted fault and are correcting the problem. I don't think this is going to attract many comments, b/c Joe, Lifestar admitted fault. No one can bash you for that, and lord knows, not many people want to express Thank You's.
Great job on making them see their mistakes and they took you article seriously. SBYNEWS is here to stay and is making a difference.

I can tell you this.... I have never met a Fowler I didn't like and I've met several.
Yes very nice letter, and just a note, i have had Lifestar transport my dad several times and they were very nice and took very good care of my dad.
I appreciate that last comment but please, put a name to it, even a nickname. It's so easy to come on here as one of the Staff there and make fluff comments. Make it real and add come credibility to it. That's the kind of comment NO ONE is going to attack you on anyway. Think about it and thank you.
What I've said all along , if you see something YOU deem to be unsafe be it a commercial vehicle, state vehicle, City vehicle or personal vehicle you should call it in. You would get a quicker response to your questions and some resolve made toward that perpetrator than to bat it around here on the blog. I had to do just that the other day because a Suburban propane truck was FLYING down my County St...I Called and They were able to track who was in that vehicle at that time....
About putting a name to a response... you could put anyones name
for the last comment his name was "John Kunie" he passed away this June, Lifestar had to transport him many times and they were very polite and caring to him and me as well,

Very professional, glad to see someone at the company actually cares.
We do need them in our community,I asked them to help transport my ill father to the hospital he was too sick to transport him ourselves (he passed days later).The only issue I remember having was over how far he lived from the disignation they were taking him.... (he was VA patient)
I think ALL emergency response vehicles should be equipped with a GPS solution like Lifestar has. Mrs. Fowler and her staff were proactive YEARS ago in having a real-time web-enabled GPS solution installed in all of their priority and non-priority response vehicles. Their vision for "issues" exactly like this sets them FAR apart from many municipal agencies.
Public municipalities usually shy away from GPS because it can tell way too much information and expose vehicle/employee misuse. Lifestar isn't afraid of hiding behind politics and fear of "big brother". They are business that is profitable. Unlike municipal agencies that continuously see deficits in budgets. All state, county, local and OF COURSE federally owned vehicles should be monitored by appropriate departments. Misuse, accountability, liability and out right stupidity should not cost tax payers any more money.
How many times have you been driving on Rt. 50 and seen 1, 2, or 3 Ford Crown Victoria’s blow by you with no lights, no siren??

Very good of them to respond, and in a professional manner. They did not accuse Joe of malicious intent or call him derrogatory names. They noted the complint, investigated, saw it had merit, and acted accordingly.
Now, if only we could get City government to respond the same way...
Kudos to Life Star for an appropriate response and addressing the issue.
It's about time Someone responds to you (Joe) in a positive matter. I love that someone has the backbone to point out all of the mistakes and problems in our City; (as well as the few fine points) and get the positive response this article recieved. At least someone out there cared enough about the safety of the people of Salisbury to look into this matter a little further, and is on the way to a resolution! Kudos to you Joe! Keep up the good work.

What seems to be over looked here is that this incident would have gotten the same careful attention and results had Mr. Albero contacted the company directly.
EXCEPT:
Contacting the company directly would not have enabled Mr. Albero to public ally bash the company, or by not naming the specific company in his post attempt to implicate the SFD. Nor would it have given him more fodder for his Blog.
Life Star is a very proactive and forward looking company for which the community can be proud, and even more pride comes with the fact they are "one of our own", from the community, not an outsider who came in and filled a need. I have had a few encounters with Jacki, Steve and Bruce, not necessarily all through Life Star, and have always found them to be professional, pleasant and friendly. They, and Life Star are a credit to Salisbury and the Eastern Shore. I feel very sure that whatever “corrections” Jacki stated would be taken, will be taken. She is a person of integrity.

Everyone on this post has seriously misjudged lifestar ambulance. Yes the letter was nice, but it is a joke. They really don't care, I know several people who work for them and they treat the employees that kiss ass like kings and queen, god help those who go to work and do their job with no if's and's or but's, but they forget the ass kissing part they treat those employees like crap. As for some of the other management people at lifestar I have heard two of them say Joe Albero is joke and they could care less about his post about them. The better buisness bureau needs to look into the practices done there.
Let's see, did I ever work for someone I didn't agree with all the time? No.
As for the Joe Albero comments being made about me. Think about that for a minute. I just nailed at least two people for screwing up and the company they work for did something about it. ANOTHER two dissatisfied customers.
You make it sound as if I should be angry because these two had bad things to say about me. That's not the case. I can't please everyone, respectfully and when you have a Site like this one, many people can become affected by such Posts.
A dear friend of mine caled me today and said, "You know what Joe, you just saved lives." I have to agree and hopefully others do as well.
Very Nice, Joe. They did a great job in handling it. Besides, you never said in your orignial post that you thought it was SFD, as the picture clearly says "LifeStar" This is a company that will, if issues are brought to their attention, apparently take corrective action.

Imagine that, someone caught red handed and they own up to it and take full responsibility, in Salisbury, where anything but the truth will do, Maryland. Good for you Jacki Fowler. There is hope for this area yet.
Your response to Joe Albero is quite refreshing and honestly, I for one never expected to read such an honest response. I wish you well and much success.
This is a company that must accept accountability, when their are problems in that field they need to be addressed post haste.
I give LifeStar a lot of credit for clearing things up, accepting the responcibility and making it clear that they didn't feel as they were being bashed.
You have to have a lot of respect for people that accept the problems and work on correcting them to make their service outstanding.
I know the company and the Fowlers personally. I also know most of their employees. To the person who said the letter is a joke and the employees are disgruntled or ass-kissers, my guess is you are an employee and one of the few that I DON'T know personally. If so, please do those of us who rely on Lifestar a favor: QUIT before your attitude endangers our loved ones. And to the Fowlers and their employees: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Thanks for being there for us all these years.
the guy that overdosed was hoppes' son who worked for lifestar. hoppes is high up in SFD!
I spoke with an employee about this incident the other day and all the driver of that ambulance got was a slap on the wrist. The people at lifestar will continue to speed and drive like maniacs they do it everyday. They don't have to be speeding to drive like crap just pay attention when you see some of their ambulances around. That place is a joke and a half.
ACTUALLY THE DRIVER WAS SPOKEN TO BY ADMINISTRATION ACTUALLY(MS. FOWLER & THE V.P OF OPERATION THEMSELVES) WHICH WAS A "VERBAL WARNING", WHICH MOST BUISNESSES OFFER THIS AS A FIRST OFFENSES. YOU DON'T HAVE TO SUSPEND OR FIRE SOMEONE TO GET YOUR POINT ACROSS..
MEMOS WERE ALSO POSTED MAKING DRIVERS AWARE THEY WERE ALSO MONITORING THE NAV TRAK SYSTEM VERY CLOSELY AS THEY NORMALLY DO. AND ADVISED EVERYONE TO BE ON YOUR P'S & Q'S SO TO SPEAK.
AGAIN ITS BEEN HANDLED AS STATED IT WOULD.
LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE..
To bad local citys / counties do not awared EMS contracts. Lifestar could bid on them and run 911 EMS.
