Who Raised This Smart Ass Kid?

After two days, a decision was made this afternoon on Doug Church's rental property. There were 3 votes in favor of letting Doug Church have his 4 exception and 2 against.

Kay Crouch and Dr. Neil Carey believed enough evidence was submitted and certainly as much as anyone could provide without a subpoena. Kay made a Motion to delay the Board's decision until after the Motion's hearing in the Circuit Court, since the other members went on about how there wasn't enough evidence. Dr. Carey seconded the Motion but the other 3 shot it down. Which is proof they really didn't want more evidence.

Next they'll go to Circuit Court and present their case. I doubt a Judge will be confused by the law or the fact that the City, Code Compliance and the Board all ignored or misinterpreted what the law actually said.

After the meeting (probably fearing exposure to the truth in Circuit Court) Doug Church, via his attorney Tom Maloney, offered to sell 428 W. College at fair market value to whomever would like to buy it.

It sure looked like Party Central with two Beer Meisters in the garage. I had to openly laugh out loud when Doug tried to tell everyone that one of his renters works in refrigeration. IMO, he's a smart ass, smart mouth kid. He's also a horrible liar. Doug, you didn't fool anybody, grow up!

nancynurse, I think you can contribute to the legal fund. This is going to Circuit Court, there will be filing fees and costs for a transcript. There are others out there who also wish to appeal their decisions but the cost of the filing fee and transcript is difficult for those living on fixed incomes. Once they file their appeals, we can easily join all the cases together. Speak to Joe, he can probably put you in touch with the correct parties to make your contribution.

First of all you all live on WEST COLLEGE. I'm sure the college was here before you! Secondly, if it wasn't for SU your town would be an even bigger POS then it already is. Screw you all for violating those poor students privacy. That house has done nothing to break the law and quit wasting your sorry ass time trying to get them out.

Chances are nobody is going to look at this, but just in case, I'll comment. The people challenging this house are not against students, though the landlords would certainly like you to think so. If that were true, we would be challenging every single rental house in the neighborhood, and we aren't. I happen to like the vast majority of SU students, including the current residents of this house. God forbid there is another fire in that house, because the last time it happened, the student living in the attic almost died. The attic windows are not big enough to use as escape routes (they are in clear violation of the law). Smoke and heat rise, and even a small fire in the lower floors may kill a sleeping person upstairs before they even realize there is a fire. Ask yourself whether the landlords are really the ones looking out for students, when they (unlike us) have a financial interest in getting as much money out of you as they can. In this case, they are willing to risk someone's life to make money, and that is both sick and wrong.

There were not 6-9 girls living in that house, there were only 3, and Eric Scholl most certainly was not trying to play the "Last Sultan", as he happened to have a steady girlfriend at that time. In addition, none of the girls were transient, they did have one roommate who moved out at the time, but there were never any who were "transient". It may have been a problem, but it was not because of transient roommates.

here is something for you to check out. TJ Maloney's house is for sale on Riverside Drive for $949,000. I went to the open house on Sunday and I remember this house before he bought it and it was a wreck. Beautiful now. He recently remodeled a junk shed on the property into a guest house with bathroom and extended it further into the Wicomico River. Isn't there a thing called the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act that needs to be adhered to? I was told that he also extended the rear yard into the river. How can someone does this without a public hearing and permit? I am not aware that he had either one.

nancynurse - 231 E. Main is not owned by Tom Lilly - he owns 231 WEST main street, where I happen to work.
