Attorney General Lynch Signed Off on ALL FISA Applications to WireTap Trump

The FISA (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance) Court is in the news this weekend after President Trump tweeted that former President Obama had petitioned a court twice in order to wire tap current President Trump when he was running for office.

In his first tweet President Trump tweeted:

Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my “wires tapped” in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!

He next tweeted:

Is it legal for a sitting President to be “wire tapping” a race for president prior to an election? Turned down by court earlier. A NEW LOW!

While flowers and chocolate are in abundance in Russia, which is marking International Women’s Day with public holiday and celebrations, some are coming up with quite unconventional ways to make their loved ones smile.

On March 8, millions of Russians rush to markets and shops to get fresh flowers, a traditional part of festive atmosphere of the day. Even the walls of Kremlin sported a holiday greeting this year.

There were those, however, who decided to bring about the holiday spirit early – including police officers seemingly taking part in a nationwide flash mob.

One of the iconic Kremlin walls has been spiced up with a giant light projection featuring a bouquet of red, white, and blue flowers, shaped to form the map of Russia. “To you, our beloved ones!” the visual postcard says.

James Rosen Recounts Being Labeled a 'Conspirator' by the Obama Admin

Fox News correspondent James Rosen recounted on Sunday when the Obama administration labeled him a "conspirator" and sought legal authority to look through his emails.

Rosen appeared on Fox News to describe his personal experience after President Donald Trump accused the Obama administration of wiretapping his phones while he was running for office. FBI Director James Comey reportedly asked the Justice Department over the weekend to publicly reject the president's allegations.

Rosen said he and his parents were not wiretapped but that the government did try to access his personal communications under the Obama administration.

While Barack Obama was president, then-Attorney General Eric Holder requested that a judge authorize federal authorities to look through Rosen's personal emails and obtain his phone records. The administration had designated Rosen a "criminal co-conspirator and a flight risk," the Fox reporter said, because of stories he published on North Korea that contained sensitive information.

Rosen recounted how both Obama and Holder were upset with his reporting after the fact and that what happened to him was unprecedented.

US Liberal Groups Paying Hush Ransoms to Russian Hackers

Russian hackers are targeting U.S. progressive groups, scouring their emails for embarrassing details and trying to extract hush money from them, reported Bloomberg. Some reportedly have already paid ransoms.

At least a dozen groups have faced extortion attempts since the U.S. presidential election, according to two people familiar with probes being conducted by the FBI and private security firms. They provided broad outlines of the campaign.

The ransom demands are accompanied by samples of sensitive data in the hackers’ possession.

In one case, a non-profit group and a prominent liberal donor discussed how to use grant money to cover some costs for anti-Trump protesters. The identities were not disclosed, and it’s unclear if the protesters were paid.

Hypocritically Demanding Evidence

On Saturday, Donald Trump released a series of tweets in which he alleged that Barack Obama had ordered “wiretapping” at his New York Trump Tower campaign headquarters. Trump’s allegation was met with a litany of Leftmedia finger wagging because he didn’t provide any evidence to back up his claims.

The Washington Post news alert read, “Trump, citing no evidence, accuses Obama of ‘Nixon/Watergate’ plot to wiretap Trump Tower before the election,” and the New York Times headline likewise stated, “Trump, Offering No Evidence, Says Obama Tapped His Phones.” CNN did the least to hide its bias, running the headline, “Trump’s baseless wiretap claim.”

For months now Democrats and the Leftmedia have continuously promoted allegations of supposed collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, and to date no actual evidence of any collaboration has ever been presented. Yet the mainstream media has the gall to call out Trump for making an accusation without evidence.

Nkechi Amare Diallo is back in the news. Nkechi who? One suspects only the most avid followers of the progressive movement’s labyrinthine efforts to alter the meaning of reality itself would be aware that Diallo was formerly known as Rachel Dolezal, the former NAACP chapter head who decided to “identify” as black, despite being born to Caucasian parents.

Perhaps no other human being better reveals the monumental dishonesty of progressives who embrace the “standard” of self-identification — but only as they define it.

Thus, while these self-professed enlightened thinkers champion the idea one can simply declare to be a member of one sex “trapped” in the body of another — utterly irrespective of chromosomal reality — they thoroughly reject the notion that the same standard can be applied to “trans-racialism.”

The result? People like Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner are trumpeted as courageous pioneers and rewarded with both a Vanity Fair cover photo and Glamour Magazine’s “Woman of the Year” award — while Dolezal/Diallo remains a full-blown pariah. A pariah the UK Guardian describes as “jobless, and feeding her family with food stamps.” The paper further notes that Diallo “has applied for more than 100 jobs, but no one will hire her, not even to stack supermarket shelves.."

Two Days After City, Union Sign Contract, Employees Submit Petition Seeking More Rights

OCEAN CITY — Just two days after the Town of Ocean City and its firefighter-paramedic union reached an 11th-hour agreement on a new contract, union officials submitted a petition at City Hall seeking a referendum for binding interest arbitration.

Last Tuesday with the clock ticking down on the negotiations deadline, the Mayor and Council and the Career Firefighter Paramedics Association of Ocean City, or local 4269, reached an agreement on a new contract which to some degree represented a compromise of sorts on the controversial shift change among other things. The contract also provides for employees to be advanced one step in the salary structure and to be awarded a 1.5-percent cost of living allowance (COLA) on July 1, 2017 and again on July 1, 2018, but the shift change issue remained a sticking point despite the agreement reached last week.

Most Ocean City paramedics currently work in 24-hour shifts, followed by 72 hours off. However, citing a variety of reasons, including potential missed calls, delayed responses and national trends, the town remained adamant about phasing out the 24-72 shift rotation in favor of an alternative 12-hour shift or some hybrid of the two. The contract agreed upon by the parties near the deadline last week represents a compromise of sorts, with two 10-hour day shifts followed by two 14-hour night shifts.

Judicial Watch Sues for Records Related to Intelligence Leaks

(Washington DC) – Judicial Watch has announced that it filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the United States Department of Justice and the Department of the Treasury regarding records related to the investigation of retired United States Army Lieutenant General Michel Flynn’s communications with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. The National Security Agency refused to confirm or deny the existence of intelligence records about communications between Gen. Flynn and Amb Kislyak.

Judicial Watch filed the lawsuit after the agencies failed to respond to a January 25, 2017, FOIA request seeking:

Any and all records regarding, concerning, or related to the investigation of retired Gen. Michael Flynn’s communications with Russian Ambassador to the United States Sergey Kislyak between October 1, 2016 and the present.

This request includes, but is not limited to, any and all related warrants, affidavits, declarations, or similar records regarding the aforementioned investigation.

For purposes of clarification, please find enclosed a CNN report regarding the investigation, which cites information that was provided to CNN by members of the Intelligence Community.

In its complaint Judicial Watch asks the court to order the agencies to search for all records responsive to its FOIA requests and demonstrate that they employed reasonable search methods; order the agencies to produce by a specific date all non-exempt records and a Vaughn index of all withheld records; and instruct the agencies to cease withholding all non-exempt records.

Judicial Watch: Only Crimes in Russia Scandal Are from 'Obama Gang'

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Government transparency activist group Judicial Watch has filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the United States Department of Justice (DOJ), and the Department of the Treasury (DOT) seeking records related to the investigation of retired United States Army Lieutenant General Michel Flynn’s communications with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

Breitbart News spoke exclusively to Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton, who said, “We’ve been looking into this story for months now and the only crimes connected to this Russian scandal we’ve been able to find so far are the illegal leaks of information and the violations of privacy by the Obama gang.”

Judicial Watch filed a FOIA on January 25, 2017 and only filed the lawsuit after the agencies failed to respond. The FOIA request was for “Any and all records regarding, concerning, or related to the investigation of retired Gen. Michael Flynn’s communications with Russian Ambassador to the United States Sergey Kislyak between October 1, 2016 and the present.”

Washington Post tech employee allegedly impersonated ICE agent

The FBI raided the Maryland home of a Washington Post tech employee last month and arrested him after he was accused of impersonating a federal customs agent.

Itai Ozderman, 35, was released on bond last month after the raid, according to news channel ABC 7 in D.C.

Ozderman, originally from Israel, was working at the Washington Post at the time in the IT division, the news channel said.

He allegedly impersonated an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent in Virginia multiple times, according to court documents obtained by ABC 7.

Glen Avenue Road Closure Announced

SALISBURY, Md. – The Eastern Shore Mission of Mercy will offer a free dental clinic for adults on Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11 at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center. Clinic will start at 7 a.m. each day and runs until capacity is reached. The event is open to adults 18 years of age or older. No one under 18 will be allowed in the building.

Glen Avenue will be closed from Thursday, March 9 at 9 p.m. until Saturday, March 11 at 9 p.m. to provide for the safety of volunteers, medical staff and patients. Patients may start lining up no earlier than Friday, March 10 at 12:01 a.m.

Alec Baldwin Says He'll Stop Playing Trump on 'SNL' Soon

Actor Alec Baldwin said he does not think he will continue impersonating President Donald Trump much longer.

Baldwin spoke with Extra and said the White House's attitude toward his playing Trump on "Saturday Night Live" is concerning.

"Trump just overwhelmingly lacks any sportsmanship. He remains bitter and angry, and you want to look at him and go, 'You won!'" Baldwin said.

"His policies aside, which you can hate, I thought he would have just relaxed and said, 'hey man . . .' There's a style the president has to have. The maliciousness of this White House has people very worried, which is why I'm not not going to do it much longer, that whole impersonation. I don't know how much more people can take it."

Cursive in School Comeback: More States Requiring Handwriting Lessons

Cursive is making a comeback in schools across the nation after taking a back seat for the past several years.

Alabama and Louisiana passed laws in favor of bringing cursive back to the classroom last year, joining a dozen other states that require cursive inpublic schools, according to Time magazine.

The country’s largest public school system has supported this move, as New York City schools — consisting of more than a million students — now require educators to teach cursive, starting in the third grade.

“It’s definitely not necessary but I think it’s, like, cool to have it,” said Emily Ma, a senior at Stuyvesant High School in New York City. Ma had never learned cursive up to this point.

New York state Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis thought it was time to put cursive back in the schools when she came across an 18-year-old at a voter registration event who wrote his name in block letters, Time noted.

Women Shouldn’t Strike

They inexorably joined with men to make society and the economy function.

Throughout American history, strikes have been used as a powerful negotiating tactic, forcing employers to recognize workers’ value and building public awareness of harsh working conditions. Organizers of the post-inauguration Women’s March want women to strike tomorrow, on International Women’s Day. They’ve called on women to take the day off from labor, paid and unpaid, and to shop only at women- and minority-owned businesses. This is supposed to raise awareness of discrimination, sexual harassment, and the low wages women allegedly endure.

Before joining the picket line, American women would do well to ask: Who, exactly, are we striking against? Given the targets, it seems clear the organizers see men, particularly white men, as the equivalent of management, ruling America’s economy, and therefore meriting a boycott.

Feds Busted 1,600 Medicaid Frauds Stealing $1.9B in 2016

Nearly 1,600 people were caught stealing $1.9 billion from Medicaid in 2016, a government watchdog reported Monday.

The state-run Medicaid Fraud Control Units investigated and prosecuted the cases; the Department of Health and Human Development's Inspector General reported the findings.

According to the Office of Special Investigator, California had the most convictions, with 173, followed by Ohio with 126.

At Mar-a-Lago this weekend President Donald Trump was filled "with fury" says The Washington Post, "mad — steaming, raging, mad."

Early Saturday the fuming president exploded with this tweet: "Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my 'wires tapped' in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!"

The president has reason to be enraged. For what is afoot is a loose but broad conspiracy to break and bring him down, abort his populist agenda, and overturn the results of the 2016 election.

At its heart is the "deep state" — agents of the intel community, their media collaborators, and their amen corner in a Democratic party whose control of our permanent government is all but total.

At the heart of the case against Trump is what appears to be a Big Lie.

It is that Vladimir Putin and Russian intelligence hacked the DNC and John Podesta's email account, then colluded with Trump's friends or associates to systematically sabotage Hillary Clinton's campaign. Therefore, Trump stole the election and is an illegitimate president. In this city, Trump is looked upon as a border-jumper, an illegal alien.

Yet let us consider the constituent components of the charge.

North Korea Says It Was Trying to Hit US Bases in Japan With Missiles

Nuclear-armed North Korea said Tuesday its missile launches were training for a strike on US bases in Japan, as global condemnation of the regime swelled.

Three of the four missiles fired Monday came down provocatively close to US ally Japan, in waters that are part of its exclusive economic zone, representing a challenge to US President Donald Trump.

In a phone call, Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe warned that the threat from North Korea had "entered a new stage".

The UN Security Council scheduled an emergency meeting for Wednesday after a request by Washington and Tokyo to discuss additional measures following the launch.

Under UN resolutions, Pyongyang is barred from any use of ballistic missile technology, and the US ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley, said on Twitter that the world "won't allow" North Korea to continue on its "destructive path".

For Trump and Netanyahu, a Budding Symbiotic Relationship

WASHINGTON — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel was sitting in his residence in Jerusalem on Monday, being questioned by the police in a murky bribery and fraud investigation that could put an end to his political career, when the telephone rang.

On the line was President Trump, who wanted to talk to Mr. Netanyahu about Iran and a few other matters.

The prime minister excused himself for several minutes to take the call, and later issued a statement in which he thanked Mr. Trump “for his warm hospitality during his recent visit to Washington and expressed his appreciation for the president’s strong statement against anti-Semitism during the president’s speech before Congress.”

It was the latest example of what has become a budding political symbiosis between the two men. The Israeli leader’s praise for Mr. Trump’s stand against anti-Semitism helped inoculate the president from charges that he had not responded swiftly enough to a skein of threats against Jewish community centers and the vandalism of Jewish cemeteries.

Trump to Planned Parenthood: Funding Stays If Abortions Go

The White House recently proposed a plan to keep funding Planned Parenthood if the nonprofit organization discontinued providing abortions,The New York Times reported.

The offer was rejected by Planned Parenthood officials.

"Let's be clear, federal funds already do not pay for abortions," Dawn Laguens, the executive vice president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, told the Times. "Offering money to Planned Parenthood to abandon our patients and our values is not a deal that we will ever accept. Providing critical healthcare services for millions of American women is nonnegotiable."

CHICAGO -- Gorging on bacon and burgers? Turning up your nose at fish, nuts or vegetables? These are among food habits that new research links with deaths from heart disease, strokes and diabetes.

Overeating or not eating enough of the 10 foods and nutrients contributes to nearly half of U.S. deaths from these causes, the study suggests.

‘A Day Without a Woman’ ignites backlash

It’s being billed as “A Day Without a Woman,” but apparently only pro-union, pro-choice, anti-Israel women who can afford to skip work need apply.

The one-day “general strike” is coming under fire from the right and the left for its mixed political messages, as well as the havoc caused by the closure of some schools Wednesday driven by anticipated staff absences.

At least two large school districts — Alexandria City Public Schools in Virginia and Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools in North Carolina — have announced that they will close in anticipation of hundreds of staff absences, igniting a backlash from parents.

A possible reason for the absences? The U.S. protest is being led by the Women’s March on Washington, whose partners include the nation’s two largest teachers’ unions — the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers, an arm of the AFL-CIO.

Conservative pundit Mollie Hemingway, who lives in Alexandria, posted phone numbers Monday for the school district along with the message, “Local gov’t schools are shuttering for leftist propaganda day. So thankful my daughters have better role models at their Lutheran school!”

4 Scams You Should Always Be Aware Of

In honor of National Consumer Protection Week — don’t worry; we forgot to get you a gift too — we wanted to take a few moments to remind everyone of some of the most common scams so that they can do their best to avoid them.

While scams come in all shapes and sizes, here are four big ones that never seem to go out of style, no matter how often folks are warned about them.

1. Lottery Scam

Lottery scams often take on different forms: In some cases, a fraudster will call or mail information to a consumer claiming to be a government official, informing victims that they’ve won a federally supervised lottery or sweepstakes.

In order to obtain the prize, these schemers will require the victim to provide a payment covering taxes or fees in order to received the supposedly won funds.

To state the obvious, however, there is no lottery. There’s just a large pool of people in Jamaica trained to work in call centers servicing the United States and Canada who figured out that scamming people was much more lucrative than collecting an hourly wage.

Just last month, federal prosecutors indicted a Florida man for his part in aJamaican lottery scam, collecting payments ranging from a wire transfer of $150 to a cashier’s check sent to him through the mail for $12,500. Prosecutors say that he would keep a portion of the payments and send the rest on to his accomplices in Jamaica.

The President's tweets regarding alleged Obama wiretapping of Trump Towers during the campaign is making a lot of waves this afternoon -- with the Sunday lineup of shills being interviewed on political discussion talk shows. From what we can gather thus far, the White House is calling for an investigation into the President's claims that Obama wiretapped his offices.

Rep. Schiff (D) calls the charges baseless and without merit, pointing out that Sean Spicer has said he would not discuss the matter further until it was investigated through the proper channels.

Former National Security Advisor General Michael Flynn gave a nicely paid speech in Moscow as a private citizen and was less than complete in explaining his conversations with Russian officials. And then there is the simple fact that Attorney General (former senator) Jeff Session, while a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, communicated with the Russian Ambassador—something senators do fairly regularly.

Examining these relationships is worth doing. Still, those pushing the narrative of troubling ties to Russia lose all credibility by wholly ignoring the far deeper and more troubling relationships the Clintons and their closest aides have maintained with Russian government officials for years, including while they were in public office. Unlike the revelations so far concerning Russian ties in the Trump camp, the Clinton deals involved hundreds of millions of dollars and enormous favors that benefitted Russian interests.

Trump claims that the Obama administration bugged Trump Tower before the election.

Perhaps ... but former Attorney General Michael Mukasey said that Trump is probably right that Trump Tower was bugged (by the Justice Department, not Obama personally).

And chief Fox News Washington correspondent James Rosen - who Obama's Attorney General Eric Holder ordered be bugged ... likemany other reporters for well over a decade - said he thought Trump might be right:

Washington's Blog asked the highest-level NSA whistleblower in history - Bill Binney - whether he thought Trump had been bugged.

Binney is the NSA executive who created the agency’s mass surveillance program for digital information, who served as the senior technical director within the agency, who managed six thousand NSA employees.

He was a 36-year NSA veteran widely regarded as a “legend” within the agency and the NSA’s best-ever analyst and code-breaker.

Binney also mapped out the Soviet command-and-control structure before anyone else knew how, and so predicted Soviet invasions before they happened (“in the 1970s, he decrypted the Soviet Union’s command system, which provided the US and its allies with real-time surveillance of all Soviet troop movements and Russian atomic weapons”).

Trump Does Not Accept Comey's Wiretap Denial: White House

Having thrown the Justice Department under the bus yesterday, it appears the FBI Director has not managed to pass the hot potato of blame/responsibility for Trump's wiretap accusations. As The Hill reports, a White House spokeswoman on Monday said she "doesn't think" Trump accepts Comey's denial of the president's claims.

As a reminder, a New York Times report Sunday said Comey asked the Justice Department to publicly reject the president's claims. Senior U.S. officials told the Times that Comey has said the president's wiretapping allegations are false and asked the Justice Department on Saturday to publicly correct the record. The FBI and DOJ declined to comment to the newspaper.

But, as The Hill reports, it appears President Trump is not buying Comey's denial that former President Obama wiretapped Trump Tower during the campaign.

"No, I don't think he does," Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Monday on ABC's "Good Morning America."

Public University Pays Students to Take Courses On 'White Privilege' and 'Black Lives Matter'

College lavishes incentives in exchange for Marxist indoctrination

An honors program at a public university gives students a scholarship and early course signup and lets them use laptops if they take classes on subjects like “white privilege” and Black Lives Matter, which both have community engagement components.

Sam Houston State University in Texas (SHSU) offers a scholarship of up to $2,800 to students who take these courses or others as part of its Elliott T. Bowers Honors College. Students who gain admission into the Honors College can sign up for courses earlier than their non-Honors peers, obtain access to a special computer center, and “automatically receive the Bowers Scholarship upon acceptance into the college.” The Honors students also graduate with distinction and gain usage of cameras, video cameras, and laptops for their class projects.

“Understanding Whiteness: Historic and Contemporary Viewpoints on Privilege,” asks SHSU Honors students “how might white people better understand white privilege and their potential role in dismantling systemic racism?” and requires students to “engage in personal self-reflection” and “educate others about white privilege through action research projects and community engagement initiatives.”

Oyster wars: Volunteers, watermen, vie over sanctuaries

The shoreline by St. Mary’s College in Southern Maryland is lined with riprap, not unlike developed waterfront elsewhere around the Chesapeake Bay. But closer inspection reveals something striking: A cornucopia of oysters, large and small, fill the crevices between the rocks.

Not far offshore, many more oysters can be seen just below the surface of the clear water, festooning reefs made out of concrete and construction rubble.

“The oysters are thick as can be,” enthused Bob Lewis, executive director of the St. Mary’s River Watershed Association.

The upper St. Mary’s River is an oyster sanctuary. Off limits to harvest pressure, this 1,300-acre area is brimming with bivalves. Lewis’s group has poured countless volunteer hours and $250,000 of donations into building new reefs and seeding them with hatchery-spawned, cage-nurtured baby bivalves.

The future of such protected areas is up for debate, though, as the Hogan administration weighs reopening some of Maryland’s 51 oyster sanctuaries to commercial harvest. Watermen say they need more areas to harvest because lethal oyster diseases are flaring up again, cutting into their harvest. And they argue that they deserve access to places like the upper St. Mary’s River. It was one of their most productive spots, they say, before it was made a sanctuary seven years ago.

Clapper & Brennan "intimately involved" in plot to derail Trump's candidacy

Former CIA analyst Larry C. Johnson says that according to his sources, the Obama administration worked with the NSA, the CIA and Britain’s GCHQ to disseminate information about Donald Trump that was illegally obtained via surveillance before the election.

Johnson joined the CIA in 1985 and was later promoted to become Senior Regional Analyst for Central America before moving on to work for the State Department.

The former CIA analyst told RT that the controversy was a “huge deal” and that Trump’s only real mistake was to call it a “wiretap” which was “technically inaccurate” and that those who have denied the charges on behalf of Obama are using semantics to fool the public.

“I understand from very good friends that both Jim Clapper and John Brennan at CIA were intimately involved in trying to derail the candidacy of Donald Trump, that there was some collusion overseas with Britain’s own GHCQ,” explained Johnson, adding that information on Trump gathered by GCHQ was passed to Brennan and illegally disseminated within the Obama administration with the green light coming from Obama himself.

The White House statement on “DeepStateGate” — President Donald Trump’s allegations that former President Barack Obama ordered surveillance on him during his 2016 presidential campaign — has the feel of cards and chips thumping down on the table:

The White House is placing a substantial bet on what Congress will uncover. Don’t expect those cards to be dealt swiftly because such investigations take time. The Obama administration was highly adept at stalling investigations until the Democratic media could pronounce them “old news” and ignore the outcome.

The Trump administration can distinguish itself by cooperating energetically with this one and helping it move forward quickly. Rest assured that no matter how long it takes, the media will never consider it “old news” as long as there remains any chance for anyone connected with the Trump 2016 campaign to get in trouble over contacts with the Russians.

It’s possible one reason Trump issued his explosive tweets on surveillance was to make everyone put up or shut up. That might already be working, as some of the more aggressive dealers in unsubstantiated innuendo are suddenly admitting they don’t have any actual evidence. There can’t be any hard evidence if Trump is super-duper wrong about Obama administration surveillance.

Trump signs new anti-terror travel ban without new fanfare

WASHINGTON (AP) — Without fanfare, President Donald Trump signed a scaled-back version of his controversial ban on many foreign travelers Monday, hoping to avoid a new round of lawsuits and outrage while fulfilling a central campaign promise. His order still bars new visas for people from six Muslim-majority countries and temporarily shuts down America’s refugee program.

The revised order, signed with none of the flourish of his first version, eliminates some of the most contentious aspects in an effort to surmount the court challenges that are sure to come. Trump’s first order, issued just a week after his inauguration, was halted by federal courts.

The new one leaves Iraq off the list of banned countries — at the urging of U.S. military and diplomatic leaders — but still affects would-be visitors and immigrants from Iran, Syria, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen and Libya. It also makes clear that current visa holders will not be impacted, and it removes language that would give priority to religious minorities — a provision some interpreted as a way to help Christians get into the U.S. while excluding Muslims.
