GSA wants to create a permanent home for innovation with new third service

The General Services Administration is going back to the future and creating a third service focused on technology.

GSA Administrator Denise Turner Roth announced May 3 the creation of the Technology Transformation Service, which brings together 18F, the Presidential Innovation Fellows program and the Office of Citizen Services and Innovative Technologies (OCSIT).

“This service will provide technology services to our partner agencies across the government, much as the Public Buildings Service and Federal Acquisition Service do in their areas of expertise,” Turner Roth wrote in an internal message to GSA employees, which Federal News Radio obtained. “By moving these programs into a new service, we are demonstrating a firm and lasting commitment to tackle this challenge. The importance of providing technology services is reflected in GSA’s mission: Providing the best value in real estate, acquisitions and technology to government and the American people.”

GSA issued a press release about the new TTS about an hour after Turner Roth’s memo went to staff.

Glen Avenue Road Closure Announced

Salisbury, MD –
The Mid-Atlantic Wrestling Association (MAWA) will host its Eastern Nationals at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center Friday, May 6 – Sunday, May 8. The tournament is expected to draw over 3,400 individuals including wrestlers, coaches and families to the WY&CC generating an estimated economic impact of just over $2 million.

The Eastern Nationals marks the third event brought to the WY&CC by Wicomico County’s Tourism Division within the last 30 days. It falls on the heels of the 84th Annual International Poodle Club of America Show, which drew 600+ poodles and their handlers to Wicomico County. Earlier in April, MAWA’s South Regionals brought over 3,000 attendees. The combined economic impact of the three events is expected to surpass $4.7 million.

Past MAWA Eastern Nationals have pulled participants from up to 17 states, mostly in the mid-Atlantic and northeast. They represent the top four wrestlers from each region (North, South, East & West) in each age division and weight class.

To protect the safety of participants and spectators, a portion of Glen Ave. in front of the WY&CC will close Saturday, May 7 and Sunday, May 8 from 6 a.m. – 8 p.m. each day. The closed portion runs from Civic Avenue to St. Albans Drive.

Justice Department Drops Bombshell in Hillary Email Investigation

Hillary Clinton always refers to the FBI investigation of her illicit email server as a “security review.”

If that’s the case, the Justice Department would have no problem complying with Freedom Of Information Act requests on the matter.

About that...

Fox News reports:

Judge Andrew Napolitano explained on "Fox and Friends" this morning that the Justice Department declined to respond to a Freedom of Information Act request related to the investigation because it involves "a law enforcement matter."

"We now know that it's not a 'security review,'" Judge Napolitano said.

He explained that whether it was intentional or inadvertent, the Justice Department has now publicly recognized the criminal nature of the investigation.

"This is the first time the Justice Department has acknowledged this is a federal law enforcement matter. But I doubt Mrs. Clinton will start saying that."

Border Keepers Suppress Drug Trade, Illegal Immigration

The border between the United States and Mexico is nearly 2,000 miles long. It passes through four states in the US, including California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. Along this often remote and hostile line, federal border patrol agents are responsible for ensuring the security of the border on the United States side.

They face a tough fight. Every year, more than a million pounds of illegal drugs pass over the border from Arizona into the United States. Unlike states like California and Texas, where the majority of illegal activity involves human trafficking, Arizona is ground zero for the war against drug smuggling, according to federal officials.

Nogales, Arizona is more than 1,600 miles from Birmingham, Ala. In many ways, the two cities are completely different. However, they share one very important problem: they've both been impacted by the trade of illicit drugs, most notably heroin.

Last year, heroin-related deaths were up by about 150 percent in Jefferson County, according to law enforcement officials. Heroin has been called an "epidemic" across our state by drug prevention groups. While not all of that product comes from Mexico, a large portion of drugs that make their way to Birmingham have been trafficked from out of the country.

There Have Been Over 100 Hate Crime Hoaxes In The Past Decade

Victimhood is profitable. On the internet, it can get you thousands of dollars in crowdfunding donations. In the media, it can win you national prominence and a cooing audience of credulous sycophants. On campus, it can get you attention and plaudits from fellow grievance-mongers.

Convince enough people you’re a victim, and everyone from presidential candidates to celebrities will come rushing to support you.

So it’s little wonder that charlatans and opportunists regularly seek to take advantage of our species’ natural instinct for empathy. False flags, in which people deliberately stage attacks on themselves to win the support of society, are as old as history itself.

That isn’t an exaggeration, by the way. They’re really as old as history itself.

Black Conservative Jason Riley Dis-invited From Virginia Tech

A prominent conservative intellectual and critic of identity politics has been dis-invited from a scheduled lecture at Virginia Tech over concerns about his race-related scholarship.

Jason Riley, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute and a Wall Street Journal columnist, was slated to speak at a lecture series hosted by the university’s business school, the BB&T Distinguished Lecture. But Virginia Tech higher-ups worried his controversial opinions would cause a scene.

“Mr. Riley, who is black, has attracted some negative attention since his publication in 2014 of Please Stop Helping Us: How Liberals Make It Harder for Blacks to Succeed,” wrote National Association of Scholars President Peter Wood in the pages of National Review, which broke the story.

According to a memo obtained by Mr. Wood, the head of the Virginia Tech Finance Department, Professor Vijay Singal, vetoed the speaking arrangement. He worried the campus was still recovering from the last BB&T Distinguished Lecture, which was delivered by Charles Murray on March 25.

Court Backs Sheriff Joe on Arizona Illegal Immigrant ID Theft Law

States can impose their own stiff penalties on illegal immigrants — or others — who steal someone’s identity in order to get a job, a federal appeals court ruled Monday, upholding Arizona’s strict law and dealing a setback to immigrant rights advocates.

The decision is yet another victory for Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and, more broadly, for Arizona, which has been a pioneer in trying to find ways to punish illegal immigrants, stepping into a void left by the Bush and Obama administrations.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit said that while there are still some questions about how police and prosecutors use the identity theft laws, on their face they do not violate the Constitution, nor do they trample on the federal government’s ability to set national immigration policies.

As long as the laws apply to anyone, including U.S. citizens who steal someone’s identity, they are allowed — even if the legislature intended them chiefly as a way to strike at one of the symptoms of illegal immigration, the judges said.

Obamacare's November Surprise

The last thing Democrats want to contend with just a week before the 2016 presidential election is an outcry over double-digit insurance hikes as millions of Americans begin signing up for Obamacare.

But that looks increasingly likely as health plans socked by Obamacare losses look to regain their financial footing by raising rates.

Just a week after the nation’s largest insurer, UnitedHealth Group, pulled out of most Obamacare exchanges because it anticipates $650 million in losses this year, Aetna’s CEO said Thursday that his company expects to break even, but legislative fixes are needed to make the marketplace sustainable.

“I think a lot of insurance carriers expected red ink, but they didn’t expect this much red ink,” said Greg Scott, who oversees Deloitte’s health plans practice. "A number of carriers need double-digit increases.”

Holy Father Attacked by Radical Liberal Mob

Liberals LOVE Pope Francis. Besides when they don't.

This week, Pope Francis used his Twitter to praise Jesus. Liberals responded like savage children. As the Mirror notes:

Pope Francis was subjected to the vile abuse just seconds after writing on his Twitter page.

He wrote: “Jesus Christ, the incarnation of God’s mercy, out of love for us, died on the cross, and out of love he rose again from the dead.”

However, below the post trolls launched a sickening attack on The Pope.

One person wrote “Smells like b******t” while another posted a emoji of a penis with a graphic insult.

Nice, right? The abuse continued:

Another user added: “f*** me with a the cross and get the devil out of my p****."

Liberals have a complicated relationship with the Holy Father. Pope Francis is a divisve character even within his own church. The media is quick to take nearly any statement he makes out of context as a sign that the Catholic Church will embrace the secular, unholy trinity of homosexuality, abortion, and socialism. They view Francis as an Italian Bernie Sanders, choosing to view Francis' calls for compassion and understanding for sinners as endorsement of their behavior.

But they also tend not to cover it when the pontiff puts out exhortations that include lines like:

"No union that is temporary or closed to the transmission of life can ensure the future of society”

and

“So great is the value of a human life, and so inalienable the right to life of an innocent child growing in the mother’s womb, that no alleged right to one’s own body can justify a decision to terminate that life, which is an end in itself and which can never be considered the “property” of another human being.”

The lesson here is simple: the era of "live and let live" and "tolerance" is over. If you're not willing to fully commit yourself to the secular fith that is modern liberalism, you will be subject to the most vicious slander imaginable.

NEVER SAID BETTER

Time is like a river You cannot touch the same water twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass again.

Franklin Graham was speaking at the First Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida in January, 2015, when he said America will not come back. He wrote:

The American dream ended on November 6th, 2012 in Ohio. The second term of Barack Obama has been the final nail in the coffin for the legacy of the white Christian males who discovered, explored, pioneered, settled and developed the greatest republic in the history of mankind. A coalition of blacks, Latinos, feminists, gays, transvestites, government workers, union members, environmental extremists, the media, Hollywood, uninformed young people, the "forever needy," the chronically unemployed, illegal aliens and other "fellow travelers" have ended Norman Rockwell's America.

You will never again out-vote these people. It will take individual acts of defiance and massive displays of civil disobedience to get back the rights we have allowed them to take away. It will take zealots, not moderates and shy, not reach-across-the-aisle RINOs to right this ship and restore our beloved country to its former status. People like me are completely politically irrelevant, and I will probably never again be able to legally comment on or concern myself with the aforementioned coalition which has surrendered our culture, our heritage and our traditions without a shot being fired.

The cocker spaniel is off the front porch, the pit bull is in the back yard The American Constitution has been replaced with Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" and the likes of Chicago shyster David Axelrod along with international socialist George Soros have been pulling the strings on their beige puppet, and have brought us Act 2 of the New World Order. The curtain will come down but the damage has been done, the story has been told.

Those who come after us will once again have to risk their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to bring back the Republic that this generation has timidly frittered away due to white guilt and political correctness.

Transgender Female’s Claim of Being Escorted from N.C. Womens’ Restroom May Be Hoax

A transgender woman who claimed to have been escorted improperly from a women’s restroom in North Carolina appears to have fabricated the story, according to a local TV report.

Last week Alexis Adams, who appears to be and identifies as female, claimed to have been escorted out of a public bathroom in the Durham, North Carolina Transit Center after being “discovered” not to be a woman.

Adams claimed to have been “speechless” and “humiliated beyond belief” at being escorted from the women’s facility by Durham police.

But no official has substantiated the incident. Further, no surveillance video has been discovered showing the alleged event took place. In fact, surveillance video does not conform to Adams’ account of the events that day, according to a local ABC affiliate, ABC 11.

N.Y. college students accused of fabricating racially motivated attack

(CNN)Three New York college students who said they were targets of a racially motivated attack face multiple charges for what prosecutors are calling a false claim.

A grand jury on Monday indicted Ariel Agudio, Asha Burwell and Alexis Briggs, all 20, each on a charge of third-degree assault and multiple counts of falsely reporting an incident, the Albany District Attorney's Office said.

Agudio and Burwell also face charges of harassment. Agudio also was charged with two counts of attempted assault.

The State University of New York at Albany rallied behind the students, who are black, when they came forward with claims that a group of white men and women attacked them on January 30 in a confrontation on a city bus. Students held a rally and university President Robert J. Jones said in a letter to students and faculty that he was "deeply concerned, saddened and angry about this incident."

Subject: Target Silent as Mixed Bathroom Disaster Threatens Sales, Stocks

Target’s Twitter account hasn’t emitted even one tiny Tweet since April 19, when the company triggered a nationwide boycott against itself by demanding that all of its customers use mixed-sex bathrooms and changing rooms to ensure respect for a few transgender customers.

The two-week silence from the Twitter account is evidence that the company didn’t realize the risks of changing their bathroom policies, said Jim Hughes, a veteran branding expert based in San Diego, California. If the pro-transgender plan has been carefully planned, and if it was expected to bolster the company’s support among millennials, then the company’s P.R. team would be trumpeting the good news via numerous channels, including Twitter, he said.

The CEO “would be out talking it up if it were a strategic move,” he said.

But the company’s public affairs page is silent about the issue.

Felony Suspect From NC Commits Suicide As Police Attempt Arrest

(BALTIMORE, MD) – A fugitive wanted for multiple felony charges in North Carolina committed suicide this morning after a multi-jurisdictional police fugitive team located him in Baltimore and attempted his arrest.

The suspect is not being identified at this time because police have been unable to yet notify family members. He is a 54-year-old man from Georgia and formerly of Baltimore, MD. He was wanted on a warrant from the Greensboro NC Police Department for charges including robbery with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer, and kidnapping.

Within the past week, investigators with the Maryland State Apprehension Team, a multi-jurisdictional fugitive unit, were contacted by detectives from the Greensboro Police Department who requested assistance in locating the suspect. Greensboro detectives said the suspect was wanted in connection with a series of crimes that occurred there on April 21, 2016. The crimes involved the armed robbery of a phone store, the intentional ramming of multiple police vehicles during a subsequent pursuit, a home invasion and kidnapping after he fled on foot, and the theft of a Hyundai Santa Fe from the home he had broken into.

The suspect was known to have previously lived in Baltimore and MSAT investigators began an immediate search for him in the area. At about 10:00 a.m. today, MSAT investigators were in the 6000-block of Loch Raven Blvd., Baltimore, when they spotted the vehicle stolen from North Carolina parked behind a residence.

Police officers from the MSAT Team, all wearing badges and outer clothing marked “Police,” surrounded the home. Officers at the front knocked at the door and announced their presence, advising they had an arrest warrant for the fugitive.

Minutes later, the fugitive exited the door at the rear of the home holding a handgun. Police in the alley behind the home immediately gave him commands to surrender, as he stood on the small porch outside the home. Without warning, the fugitive lifted the handgun he was holding and shot himself in the head.

A Letter To The Editor: Board of Education

I would like to thank the voters of District 3, Worcester County, for advancing me on to the general election in November for School Board. Please let me share my positions on what I believe are some core issues. I am a conservative. I have been opposed to Common Core since 2012, opposed to the excessive testing of our children and the data mining associated with it. I firmly believe that our teachers are the unsung heroes of this educational mess. We find the best talent and then inhibit any use of that talent. I will work to do whatever possible to regain local control because the Federal Government should not be in the education business, and that's what they've made it... business. In November, you will have a clear choice, a conservative vs. the status quo.

Clinton Campaign Made Payments to Hard Drive and Document Destruction Company

Payments could have purchased destruction of 14 hard drives

The Hillary Clinton campaign made multiple payments to a company that specializes in hard drive and document destruction, campaign finance records show.

The payments, which were recorded in February and March of 2016, went to the Nevada-based American Document Destruction, Inc., which claims expertise in destroying hard drives or “anything else that a hard drive can come from.”

“Our hard drive destruction procedures take place either at your site or at our secure facility in Sparks, NV,” the company’s website states. “This decision is yours to decide based on cost and convenience to you. In either situation, the hard drive will be destroyed by a shredding.”

“We have a dedicated machine for hard drive destruction,” the website continues. “We will also record the serial numbers of all drives to be destroyed to be kept in our records. A copy of this log can be provided to you as well.”

The routine services section of the site says that the company operates in 26 areas in Nevada and California, including Reno, Virginia City, Sparks, Tahoe City, and Carson City.

Sources: John Kasich to drop out

(CNN) John Kasich is dropping out of the Republican presidential race, two sources familiar with the plan confirmed to CNN.

Kasich's decision came after he improbably became the last challenger to Donald Trump, who emerged as the presumptive GOP nominee Tuesday night when Ted Cruz dropped out.

Even before winning his home state of Ohio in March, Kasich was facing pressure to get out of the race, with no clear path to victory.

His campaign never became more than a spoiler run, designed to keep Trump from getting the 1,237 delegates needed to win the nomination before a contested convention.

'Even I would've helped her': Donald Trump rips Ted Cruz after Carly Fiorina falls off stage at event

Donald Trump voiced his opinion on Monday about an incident that gained widespread attention on social media: Carly Fiorina falling off the stage at a Ted Cruz event.

"By the way, she fell off the stage," Trump said during a rally in Carmel, Indiana. "Did anybody see that? And Cruz didn't do anything. Even I would've helped her, OK?"

"Wow, that's really cruel," he continued. "She just went down. She went down a long way. And she went down right in front of him and he just kept talking. That was a weird deal."

Fiorina fell off the stage while introducing the Texas senator. Cruz last week named Fiorina his running mate in the event he is able to win the GOP nomination. Cruz is mathematically eliminated from securing the nomination ahead of the GOP convention.

7 Amazing Things America Could Have Bought Instead of a $1.45 Trillion Jet

All student loan debt could be eliminated.

The F-35 project has been one of the most expensive military projects in history, and will cost upwards of $1.45 trillion by the time it’s over. No, that was not a typo. The project price is trillion with a T. What’s more, it’s not even ready for service yet, and it’s already cost $400 billion, according to the Government Accountability Office, which is twice what it was supposed to have cost by now.

The planes are definitely cool, if you’re into such things—stealth, fast, sleek—but it’s not even that good by military standards, a think tank reported last year, and not worth the $135 million cost per plane, of which the U.S. stands to order 2,443. In fact the Congressional Budget Officerecommended that updating the stalwart F/A-18 and the F-16 planes would be sufficient—a move that could save around $48.5 billion.

The project was back in the news again last week, as the Senate Armed Forces Committee heard testimony. It didn’t go well: Sen. John McCain (R.-AZ), a Navy veteran, blasted the project as a “scandal and a tragedywith respect to cost, schedule, and performance.”

While some officials were optimistic about the project, Christopher Mimms of the Wall Street Journal fired off a tweet that noted that the plane’s projected opportunity cost (through will be 2038) could have provided 20 years of free college for every student in the U.S.

Dorchester: Under Inv. American Legion Cambridge

FIRE DAMAGES AMERICAN LEGION POST

CAMBRIDGE, MD. (May 3, 2016) – Deputy State Fire Marshals are investigating the origin and cause of a fire which was reported to Dorchester County 911 at 11:14 am today. The 3 alarm fire was reported at a commercial building known as The American Legion Dorchester Post # 91 located at 601 Radiance Drive.

The fire brought 50 firefighters from Rescue Fire Company and surrounding departments to the scene and took approximately 2 hours to bring under control. Damages to the 12,000 square foot structure and contents inside are estimated to exceed $ 900,000.00 dollars. The structure was occupied at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. The fire was reported to 911 by a passerby. At essentially the same time, the occupants of the building were being notified by the building’s fire alarm system.

The investigation has determined that the fire originated above the facility’s main banquet hall. The cause is currently still under investigation, but most likely can be attributed to a lightning strike to the structure Monday night.

Anyone with additional information in reference to this fire is urged to contact the Lower Eastern Region Office of the State Fire Marshal at 410-713-3780.

Do The Words 'Race Riot' Belong On A Historic Marker In Memphis?

A somber procession began on Sunday in the courtyard of the former Lorraine Motelin Memphis, Tenn., where Martin Luther King Jr. was killed in 1968. Everyone in Memphis knows about that piece of history, but until recently, folks were unaware of a massacre that happened in the same part of town 100 years earlier.

On May 1, 1866, Memphis was home to a massacre that left dozens of black folks dead and countless others injured. This week in Memphis, the city is remembering thatgrim chapter in its history — a 150-year-old atrocity that shocked the nation and was nearly forgotten.

Stephen V. Ash, a history professor at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and the author of A Massacre in Memphis: The Race Riot That Shook The Nation One Year After The Civil War, says newspapers of the era labeled what happened in Memphis a "race riot," mostly on the basis that it began as a fight between black Union soldiers and some Irish police officers.

Time Capsule Opened As Memorial Restoration Begins

SALISBURY — As part of the ongoing effort to restore a long-neglected War Memorial in Salisbury, a decades-old time capsule was removed and opened last week, revealing scrolls listing the county’s war dead from World Wars I and II and the Korean War.

In 1955, the Wicomico County War Memorial was completed and dedicated by the citizens of the county along with support from the local American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) posts. The memorial, a 32-foot obelisk rising from the surrounding plaza along Route 13 near the intersection with Priscilla Street, has fallen into disrepair because of neglect and indifference in the decades since, but there is a renewed effort to restore the War Memorial to its original glory.

“Over the passage of time, the significance and public awareness of the memorial has been eclipsed and after 60 years, the memorial is in need of renovation and re-dedication to find a place of honor in recognition of our veterans who have given the last measure of service to our country,” a statement from the 1955 War Memorial Committee reads.

The memorial was built and dedicated in 1955, at a time when the heartaches and losses from World War II and the Korean War were still very fresh. In the six-plus decades since, the War Memorial has fallen into disrepair and new conflicts have come and gone and the memories of those earlier wars have faded.

Maryland Man Sentenced to Prison for Role in Massive Identity Theft and Tax Fraud Scheme

Stole Identities from D.C. Government Agency for Use
in Filing False Tax Returns

A resident of Bowie, Maryland, was sentenced today to four years in prison after pleading guilty in January for his involvement in a far-reaching identity theft and tax fraud scheme in which he assisted in the filing of fraudulent federal income tax returns seeking more than $4.4 million in refunds, announced Acting Assistant Attorney General Caroline D. Ciraolo of the Justice Department’s Tax Division, U.S. Attorney Channing D. Phillips of the District of Columbia, Special Agent in Charge Thomas Jankowski of Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI), Inspector in Charge Maria L. Kelokates of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service’s Washington Division and Assistant Inspector General for Investigations John L. Phillips of the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

Marc A. Bell, 49, a former employee of the District of Columbia’s Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services (DYRS), admitted taking part in a massive and sophisticated identity theft and false tax return scheme that involved an extensive network of more than 130 people, many of whom were receiving public assistance. According to court documents, the scheme involved the filing of at least 12,000 fraudulent federal income tax returns that sought refunds of at least $42 million from the U.S. Treasury. The false tax returns sought refunds for tax years 2005 through 2013 and were often filed in the names of people whose identities had been stolen, including the elderly, people in assisted living facilities, drug addicts and incarcerated individuals. Refunds also were sent to people who were willing participants in the scheme. The refunds listed more than 400 “taxpayer” addresses located in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.

US Economy may be Grinding to a Halt

Lending standards for business loans are getting tighter, according to the Federal Reserve's "Senior Loan Officer Opinion Survey" (SLOOS).

"Banks have been tightening standards for both commercial and industrial (C&I) and commercial real estate (CRE) loans over the past few quarters and the latest data from the Senior Loan Officer Opinion Survey shows the most severe tightening in lending standards for these types of loans so far in the expansion," said Daniel Silver, economist at JPMorgan.

C&I loans are a catch-all category for loans that help finance purchases or upgrades of equipment.

Essentially, the Fed surveys people in charge of giving out loans at financial institutions and asks them if it's getting harder or easier to get a loan. For the past two quarters, these officers have been reporting standards tightening at a faster rate.

Congress May Finally Outlaw “Gag Clauses” That Block Customers From Writing Negative Reviews

Last December, it looked like federal lawmakers were getting serious about so-called “non-disparagement” or “gag” clauses in consumer contracts that forbid customers from saying anything negative about a purchase or transaction. The U.S. Senate quickly passed a bipartisan bill that would outlaw the practice, but the legislation has idled in the House since. However, a new, virtually identical bill may finally be evidence of movement on this issue.

A Viewer Writes: Subject: Raw Spirit Publications Scam

Hi Joe,

My mom lives in Nithsdale and was telling me about a man who approached her while she was cutting grass to sell magazine subscriptions. He said he was affiliated with the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office, selling these subscriptions to raise money for at-risk youth. The sales sheet showed other Nithsdale residents had participated, so she thought it was legitimate. When she told me the subscription was for $109 for two years, I knew it was probably a scam. The Sheriff’s office has no knowledge of this company or program. Could you warn others in the area about this man and company?

Baltimore City officials defend trip to Las Vegas

BALTIMORE —Baltimore city officials are expected to approve taxpayer money Wednesday to send City Council President Jack Young and council member Carl Stokes to a big convention in Las Vegas in May.

But Stokes is leaving the council and the trip isn't cheap, so is it a good deal?

Travel expenses by Baltimore's City Council more than quadrupled in recent years. The cost of the trip is more than $10,000.

The convention is put on by the International Council of Shopping Centers. As its promotion video suggests, it is a big deal and a popular destination for politicians.

This year's Baltimore delegation includes Young, two of his aides and Stokes.

273k Union Worker / Retirees Brace for Pension Cuts

About 273,000 union workers and retirees are about to learn the fate of their pensions.

The struggling Central States Pension Fund is in such bad shape that it's seeking government approval to cut benefits -- and the ruling is expected to come this week.

It would be the first time the government green-lights pension cuts under a new law giving the Treasury Department authority to approve, or reject, cuts proposed by a multi-employer, private fund as a way to head off insolvency.

Previously, failing pension funds could reduce future benefits for current workers, but they couldn't touch those already being paid to current retirees -- until now.

First individual charged out of 17 people who were arrested for violent acts during Trump’s campaign rally.

Luis Fernando Alarcon, a 19-year-old Anaheim man was charged Monday with felony vandalism over $400 and inciting a riot, for his part in the violent protest during a Donald Trump rally in Costa Mesa.

Alarcon was among a group of protesters Thursday night, April 28, who all started marching south on Newport Boulevard, according to LA Times. They were headed toward the freeway, when a highway patrol car managed to block the crowd from entering the freeway. A second officer responded to assist. Connecticut Governor to Sign Gun Confiscation Bill — Here Are the Key Details

Connecticut lawmakers have passed legislation to permit law enforcement to confiscate guns and ammunition from anyone accused of domestic abuse. The bill is headed to the desk of Gov. Dannel Malloy and he’s expected to sign it.

Under the legislation, suspects would have 24 hours after being accused to surrender all firearms.

After nearly three hours of debate, the bill was approved with a 23-13 amid failed attempted by Republicans to amend the bill.

The Connecticut Post explains the intention behind the legislation:

The goal is to protect women from the increased lethality at a critical point in a relationship: when they are trying to leave their abusers. About 14 domestic homicides occur annually in Connecticut, half of which are caused by guns.

While 5,000 temporary restraining orders are issued annually, about half result in permanent orders. The bill, which was approved last week in the House, would require court hearings within seven days and if judges decide against extending the orders, weapons would be returned within five days later. Currently, court hearings are held 14 days later.

Coalition: Park Ranger Uniforms ‘Threatening’ Latinos - Have ‘Cultural Implications’

(CNSNews.com) - A coalition of legislators and civil rights groups say the National Park Service needs to focus on increasing inclusion on public lands, including possibly changing the “threatening” uniforms of Park Rangers.

“What we’re calling for is drastic, very scary change,” Maite Arce of the Hispanic Access Foundation said at a press conference Thursday.

“One example I can give you is with the Latino community, especially among the border states, but even nationwide, just the simple color of the uniforms that rangers wear.”

“It’s such a shame that something as simple as the uniform and it’s similarity to the border patrols uniform – in the coloring - could be very threatening to certain segments of the Latino population. So a discussion about that is going to be really tough.” Arce later added.

Arce has joined a coalition of civil rights groups and lawmakers asking President Obama to issue an executive order emphasizing the need for the Department of Interior and the U.S. Department of Agriculture to adopt guiding priorities for a more inclusive approach to National Parks.

Among the coalition’s policy suggestions are:

Something To Ponder...

I was speaking to a friend recently and they said something to me that really sparked my interest.

"I find it interesting how the Republican Party always wants to start with the poor, instead of the rich in congress and corporate welfare".

I don't care who you are or what party you are affiliated with, they're right.

We get all excited when states start going after people on Welfare and Food Stamps, yet we watch Congress and the Pentagon continue to purchase BILLIONS of dollars worth of airplanes that just don't work.

This is one of the key reasons I fully support Donald Trump. HE GETS IT and he won't stand for it. If these planes, (for example) don't work, he'll get our money back or we'll SUE those companies screwing us taxpayers.

While we all know there are people taking advantage of the system with food stamps and welfare, it's NOTHING compared to our own Government taking advantage of us with NO accountability or punishment.

Make America Great Again, Vote Trump.

NO MORE SNOPES

Talk about crooked!!!

Wow...read this one! Then check out the suggested web sites!!!

Many of the emails that I have sent or forwarded that had any anti Obama in it were negated by Snopes. I thought that was odd. Check this out.

Snopes, Soros and the Supreme Court's Kagan.We-l-l-l-l now, I guess the time has come to check out Snopes! Ya' don't suppose it might not be a good time to take a second look at some of the stuff that got kicked in the ditch by Snopes, do ya'?

We've known that it was owned by a lefty couple but hadn't known it to be financed by
Soros!

Snopes is heavily financed by George Soros, a big time supporter of Obama!

In our Search for the truth department, we find what I have suspected on many occasions.

I went to Snopes to check something about the dockets of the new Supreme Court Justice,
Elena Kagan, who Obama appointed, and Snopes said the email was false and there were no such dockets. So I Googled the Supreme Court, typed in Obama-Kagan, and guess what? Yep, you got it; Snopes Lied! Everyone of those dockets are there.

So Here is what I wrote to Snopes:
Referencing the article about Elana Kagan and Barak Obama dockets:
The information you have posted stating that there were no such cases as claimed and the examples you gave are blatantly false.
I went directly to the Supreme Courts website, typed in Obama Kagan and immediately came up with all of the dockets that the article made reference to. I have long suspected that you really slant things but this was really shocking. Thank You. I hope you will be much more truthful in the future, but I doubt it.

That being said, Ill bet you didn't know this.

Kagan was representing Obama in all the petitions to prove his citizenship.

Now she may help rule on them.

Folks, this is really ugly!!! Chicago Politics... and the beat goes on and on and on. Once again the US Senate sold us out!

Now we know why Obama nominated Elana Kagan for the Supreme Court.

Pull up the Supreme Courts website, go to the docket and search for Obama.
She was the Solicitor General for all the suits against him filed with the Supreme Court to show proof of natural born citizenship.
He owed her big time. All of the requests were denied, of course. They were never heard. It just keeps getting deeper and deeper, doesn't it? The American people mean nothing any longer.

It's all about payback time for those who compromised themselves to elect someone who really has no true right to even be there.

Here are some websites of the Supreme Court Docket: You can look up some of these hearings and guess what?

Elana Kagan is the attorney
representing Obama!

Check out these examples:

Window Tint Regulations

There are many questions that the Maryland State Police receive about window tint on vehicles. The Automotive Safety Enforcement Division(ASED) of the Maryland State Police have put together some information about window tint that should answer most questions about the topic.

Window Tinting Regulations for vehicles registered in the State of Maryland

The State of Maryland regulates post manufacture window tint film on all motor vehicles registered in the State. This regulation is set forth in both the Maryland Transportation Article (Title 22 section 406), and the Inspection process for vehicles being registered in Maryland (COMAR Title 11 subtitle 14). These regulations state that windows can have post manufacture window tint film added to allow 35% light transmittance (amount of light going through glass),and indicates the types of vehicles and the locations that tint is permitted. All vehicles manufactured for sale in the United States come from the factory with some window tinting already in the regulated windows. Most of the regulated glass on vehicles allow between 70-75% light transmittance. Therefore, to meet the State requirement of 35% light transmittance you would need to apply 50% post manufacture window tint film.

Passenger cars: (2dr, 4dr, station wagons) All windows on these vehicles are regulated and have to meet the 35% light transmittance requirement. The brake light in the back windowcannot be covered by tint.

Trucks, Vans, SUVs: The only windows regulated on these type of vehicles are the windows immediately left and right of driver. These two windows are the only ones that have to meet the 35% light transmittance requirement.

Windshields: Post manufacture window film can not be placed on the front windshield below the AS1 mark or 5 inches down horizontally from the top of the windshield whichever is less.

Colors of Tint: COMAR (11.14.02.14.D.1) Prohibits red, yellow, amber and reflective(mirrored) post manufacture window tint film.

Medical Waiver: Maryland Transportation Article, Title 22 Section 406 allows for an exemption to the 35% light transmittance requirement. This exemption applies to the regulated windows of all vehicles, you still cannot tint the windshield below AS1 mark or 5 inches from top. The requirements to meet the medical waiver are: (22-406-i-4-i) A person who must be protected from the sun for medical reasons is exempt from the provisions of paragraph (1) of this subsection if the owner has, in the vehicle at the time the vehicle is stopped by a police officer, a written certification that details the owner’s medical need for tinted windows, from a physician licensed to practice medicine in the State.

11 Year-Old Shoots Intruder- ‘He Started Crying Like a Little Baby’

11 year-old Talladega, Alabama home school student Chris Gaither was alone last Wednesday morning when he realized there was an intruder in his home.

WVTM reports, Gaither said he was scared, but wanted to be prepared so he grabbed a nine-millimeter handgun.

“When he was coming down the stairs, that’s when he told me he was going to kill me, f-you and all that,” Gaither said.

The intruder made it out the front door with a hamper in hand. That’s when Gaither started firing off bullets.
