Did Ray Lewis & Co. Completely Suck The Life Out Of Wicomico County?

In today's USA Weekend Magazine provided in the Daily Times, this ad was placed inside to draw more people to certain Counties. Wicomico County was NOT in there. Worcester County was, Ocean City was but Wicomico County sits vacant, or shall I say, a No Show? Thanks Ray Lewis & Co.!

More Than 300 Attend Farm Bureau Dinner

While more than 300 people attended last nights Banquet, the Politicians were everywhere!

Rick Pollitt gave the speech of the year last night, getting down to business and cracking people up with a variety of jokes. While Rick spoke for about 45 minutes, he addressed the Landfill and other challenges throughout Wicomico County and IMO did so with class.

All I can tell you Folks is, Thank God they served dinner FIRST because the speeches went on for about 2 hours! Sorry but that's just too much to digest. The food was absolutely fantastic, so a hat tip to Sharptown. They served fried oysters, sweet potatoes, dumplings with turkey. Look, it was simply delicious.

I'll close with one of the topics I found most interesting. Mr. Pollitt expressed his concerns over the Liquor Dispensary System in Wicomico County and possibly privatising that system. He said it would have to make sense financially to the County as they bring in around $400,000.00 yearly to the County but they're open to ideas and they want to investigate that further.

Andy Harris and Frank Kratovil were there, (photos above) and quite frankly everyone was having a great time. I'm glad I went and I look forward to next year.

Yesterday Was A Perfect Day For Shooting Guns

While I was off doing what seemed like a million different things yesterday, I was able to get a break and hang out with the guys and shoot off a few hundred rounds. It didn't take long before we were nailing every target as well as clays. No Trespassing means No Trespassing!

Salisbury's Troubled Past With The EPA

UNITED STATES ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY

BEFORE THE ADMINISTRATOR IN THE MATTER OF CITY OF SALISBURY, MARYLAND ) DOCKET No. CWA-III-219
)
Respondent )

ORDER GRANTING IN PART AND DENYING IN PART COMPLAINANT'S MOTION FOR ACCELERATED DECISION

By Motion filed May 21, 1999, Complainant moved for accelerated decision on the issue of liability only, for each of the three types of violations described in the Complaint. For the reasons discussed below Complainant's motion will be granted in part and denied in part.(1)
I. Background

On July 15, 1998, Complainant initiated this administrative proceeding pursuant to Section 309(g) of the Clean Water Act ("CWA"), 33 U.S.C. § 1319(g).(2) Respondent, the City of Salisbury, Maryland, owns and operates a publicly owned treatment works ("POTW") in Salisbury that treats domestic sewage. The Complaint charges Respondent, in one undesignated Count, with 24 violations of the sludge regulating provisions of CWA § 405, 33 U.S.C. § 1345, and implementing regulations codified at 40 C.F.R. § 503. Complainant seeks assessment of an aggregated penalty in the amount of $16,000.

Section 405(d)(1) of the CWA directs the Administrator to issue "regulations providing guidelines for the disposal of sludge and the utilization of sludge for various purposes." 33 U.S.C. § 1345(d)(1). The regulations governing the use or disposal of sewage sludge are found at 40 C.F.R. § 503 and impose upon persons engaging in use or disposal of sewage sludge specific requirements. The Complaint charges Respondent with violating the regulatory requirements governing: (a) monitoring under 40 C.F.R. § 503.16; (b) pollutant concentration ceilings under 40 C.F.R. 503.13; and (c) data reporting for the land application of sludge under 40 C.F.R. § 503.18.

Complainant asserts that, based on admissions in the form of Respondent's own records and reports, there is no genuine issue as to any material fact in this proceeding and that it is entitled to judgment as a matter of law pursuant to 40 C.F.R. § 22.20(a). Respondent opposes Complainant's Motion as to its alleged violations of pollutant concentration ceilings and reporting requirements; Respondent urges that material issues of fact are in dispute, that Complainant is not entitled to judgment as a matter of law, and that an evidentiary hearing is necessary to resolve disputed factual issues. As to the remaining violation charged, Respondent admits that it failed to monitor for arsenic and selenium in the first quarter of 1996 as required by 40 C.F.R. § 503.16, and does not contest the granting of an accelerated decision on liability for that violation.

Property Assessments To High!

Property Confiscation without Compensation?

Many Marylanders have not stopped to realize what a 'Soviet Maryland' would mean. Your Maryland governing officials - (Communist and Progressive Democrats) - have no doubts as their blueprints are already made.

SO YOU THINK YOU GOT A TEMPORARY REPRIEVE?

READ ON IT GETS BETTER.

In June, 1957, Nikita Khruhchev, Soviet Communist Party boss, was interviewed before a nation-wide American television audience. With Calm Assurance he stated:

' I can prophesy that your grandchildren in America will live
under Socialism. And please do not be afraid of that. Your
grandchildren will . . .not understand how their grandparents
did not understand the progressive nature of a Socialist
Society.'

I've got news for every one of my fellow Marylanders.

WE HAVE ALREADY EVOLVED THERE!

So Chamber of Commerce what are you going to do?

How are you going to launch a Counter offensive?

HIGHER TAXES?

Most all businesses in Maryland got a royal screwing by our last Maryland General Assembly session.

Just examine the following link where they have substantially increased the tax rates.

http://taxpros.marylandtaxes.com/taxforms/updates.asp

Now take a look at the Entity Types- ( who and whom got screwed) . . . S Corporations, Partnerships, LLCs, Business Trust - (link below).

AND PEOPLE WONDER WHY MARYLAND HAS A BAD REPUTATION?

ITS A NO-BRAINER!!!!

New Posts

I am truly excited about the NEW format on our Posts. Rather than cluttering up the Home Page with articles that can tend to take up a ton of space, we're been able to enable a "READ MORE" link that takes you to the rest of the article. After clicking the read more link it brings you to the rest of our article and I think that's way cool.

Attn. Daily Times, YOU'RE KIDDING ME, RIGHT?

I just got my Sunday Daily Times. You know, the one that cost $1.25! OK, I'm VERY pissed off. Before my coffee finished brewing, I was done with the paper! Look, these guys are pissing me off so bad, I'm truly thinking about to cancelling my own subscription! They have me stuck between a rock and a hard place because this is one of my life lines to Salisbury News. Am I right here Ladies & Gentlemen? did you get a copy of the Sunday paper that is smaller than weekly paper, minus the sale ads, of course. I read the Editorial apologizing for the piece of sh!t paper they've been delivering. Now they didn't say, we're NOT going to BILL all of you for all those days of screw ups, we're just sorry instead. They also didn't say, "can you forgive me?" Sorry but it was difficult to stay focused throughout his message. We're not getting what we pay for and today will be yet another major blow to the Daily Times cancellation department because people simply aren't that stupid. If you're like me and you travel to almost every event around the County, I never see the Daily Times at these events any more. I started my morning on the road at 8:30 am and I returned home at 9:30 last night! Not once did I see a Daily Times Reporter and not once did I see a Daily Times Photographer. There's plenty of news to go get, you're just not doing it and obviously you're not delivering it.

Recall Effort Has Support Of Many City Residents

The Salisbury University student who has correctly challenged and identified the incompetence and ineffectiveness of our local government has the support and encouragement of a large majority of Salisbury citizens.

The ridiculous notion that his effort is motivated and driven by "unknown" sources is a poor attempt to defame this young man's credibility and purpose.

Unfortunately for these targeted city officials highlighted for recall, this is a poor attempt on their part to deflect and escape public notice of their poor performance. It should also be noted that the mayor, council President Louise Smith, Councilman Gary Comegys and Councilwoman Shanie Shields are actually noncompliant with the standards established in the city of Salisbury's mission, values and vision statement.

If you read this document, especially the area of core values, you will see these public officials fail to meet the requirements. This should further substantiate, validate and endorse the current recall effort.

The current arrogance and abuse of power by these individuals is inexcusable and will continue to impede real progress required to properly operate the city of Salisbury. The political climate that exists now is based entirely on bullying, noninclusion and lack of accountability toward its citizens.

I find it hard to believe any citizen of Salisbury endorses, accepts or is satisfied with what exists. These current officials cannot be oblivious to their inept, divisive and nonrepresentative style of government.

The effort to recall is necessary and correct, and all in question should immediately resign from office.

Tony Tank At Draw Down

I took these pictures the other day. I'm not sure why Tony Tank is at draw down from Camden to Riverside, but it was neat to see the bottom of the area where I often fish. All of those stumps are submerged at normal water level. I have never seen the lake at this water level and I definately saw some bikes sitting in the mud. Other than that I saw no signs of illegal dumping which was nice. The first picture you can really tell the difference in the change of water level with the exposed dock. I didn't see any construction or future construction like they had on the pond at the end of South Division.

For those of you who missed History 101

For those of you who slept through World History 101 here is a condensed version. Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.

The two most important events in all of history were:

1. The invention of beer, and
2. The invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer, and the beer to the man.

These facts formed the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:

1. Liberals
2. Conservatives.

Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to BBQ at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement.

Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly BBQ's and doing the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement.

Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became known as girlie-men.

Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy and group hugs, the evolution of the Hollywood actor, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide all the meat and beer that conservatives provided.

Over the years, Conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the jackass.

Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare. Another interesting evolutionary side note: most liberal women have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group therapists are liberals.

Conservatives drink domestic beer. They eat red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, firemen, lumberjacks, construction workers, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, athletes, Marines, and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America . They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for nothing.

Here ends today's lesson in world history.

It should be noted that a liberal may have a momentary urge to angrily respond to the above before forwarding it.

A conservative will simply laugh and be so convinced of the absolute truth of this history that it will be forwarded immediately to other true believers, and to more liberals...just to piss them off. :

Can You Stand It?

It was a year ago when gas prices were through the roof and everyone wondered just how we were going to afford it. One year later it's jumped almost $2.00 per gallon!

I'm sure the Federal Government is doing polls right now asking Americans at what price will people start to kill one and other and start a Revolution and they believe it will be somewhere around $10.00 a gallon!

Just like cigarettes, everyone became dependent on it and once you're addicted, you have no choice. Americans are very stupid. We're like robots and the Government we grew up proud of and loving has become our enemy. We're doing the things Russia was accused of doing. We're torturing prisoners. We're being told what we can and can't do every day. If you're a local Student and a 21 year old Police Officer thinks you're too loud, they slap you in Jail, period! Heck, we're now paying more for gas than those other Countries we used to laugh at and or sit there in awe.

America is no longer the land of the free. It's run by crooks at the local and federal level and quite frankly, I've seen enough. Even our very own Mayor and Police Chief want to sue me to shut me up from my freedom of speech rights. When I was a kid, I loved America and what it stood for. Now, I think it sucks and if there was another Country I could go to and feel safe, I'd take all my American Dollars, pack my things and get the hell out of here. It's not worth it any more. The Mexicans are smart. It's no wonder they make their money here and send it elsewhere.

One Year Ago Today

It was one year ago today I was getting phone call after phone call telling me that A.S.A.P. owned by Mr. Ray Lewis was out in this field allegedly pumping sewage into this tank and allegedly spreading it into this field.

To this day I have friends that swear on their children's eyes that's what they saw. Now look at where Mr. Lewis sits one year later? Things that make you go, hmmmmm?

If You're On Dial Up, Blognetnews Is Not For You!

Blognetnews is a unique site that offers a multitude of Bloggers on one site, making it convenient to see who's got what that day.

However, Blognetnews has pop up ads and other flashy annoying ads that slows everything down quite a bit but mainly, when you're on dial up, the first time you go there for the day it freezes your computer up completely.

Yep, the next thing you know you're hitting the old control, alt, delete buttons to get out of their site and restart your on line access all over again. I've warned them of this in the past and they sent me a letter stating they corrected it, NOT!

Dial Up sucks but when you're in the country, it's all we've got. Blognetnews needs to get rid of the BS Pop Up Ads, period! Does ANYONE ever click on them anyway?

Local Blogger Booted From WMDT

Anti Albero Blogger Joe Perdue, (tan jacket in photo) was dropped by WMDT last week based on harsh attacks and articles of no real substance. All of the attacks were against me personally.

WMDT had made it very clear. If you're not going to be a news worthy site, you're history. Joe Perdue is a Salisbury Firefighter who created a Blog that spent most of his time attacking me. Sure does make you wonder who he was in bed with?

Always known as an anti Mayor, See & Gordy individual, all of a sudden out of nowhere came Joe Perdue, the guy that now supports them to no end? Oh, she's got her people out there doing what she had hoped to be damage control but they only get a hand full of visitors and very few comments, so although she may feel better, it didn't work.

Saturdays are the slowest day of the week but I'd expect to hit more than 6,000 visitors today and that's a FACT! Not bad for a Saturday. How high can you hold your head now Joe Perdue? Just like Wayne Barrall, another Bully who got suspended. However, in Joe's case, expelled.

Louise Smith Can't Stand Being Held Accountable

Predictably, after her tell-it-like-it-is comments at the end of the city council meeting Monday night, Donna Ennis got a "Dot Truitt Letter" from council president Louise Smith. (Dot Truitt, you'll recall, was the grandmotherly lady who took city attorney Paul Wilber to task for "letting us down" on the Hearn annexation. Oh, that was SO MEAN of her! Take a shawl and whip her!)

Let's look at the letter Louise Smith sent Donna:

1. Smith quotes extensively "according to the tape." Wow. Is this how Louise Smith spends her time? Listening to tapes so she can send scolding, even threatening letters to citizens, instead of watching your tax dollars? Smith's mentor, the mayor, is known spend time quoting tapes and writing nasty letters to citizens. Or did Smith squander staff time to listen to the tape and transcribe it for her? (It's a question, Louise, not an accusation.)

2. Yep. Donna Ennis said all that. Except that last line was much later, specific to Smith and her campaign lies, as Ennis talked about how she stood out in the cold campaigning for Smith on the basis of her campaign promises.

3. Smith said: "Including this President in accusatory statements that Mrs. Campbell and Mrs. Cohen were involved with this recent recall or people dissatisfied with the elections bears no truth at all. This was confirmed yesterday by the reporter that wrote the article, Greg Latshaw."

Awww, c'mon, Louise. You stopped just a gnat's behind from out and out accusing Campbell and Cohen. The innuendo was strong enough when Greg Latshaw reported you saying: "'I would hope the petition is not a concentrated attack (on one part of the council) because I'm trying to do something completely opposite and bring all sides together,' Smith said." It was plugged right in with the stronger innuendo from your underlings, Comegys and Shields.

Why would you worry about sides, Louise, if casting the shadow of blame on the other side wasn't the intent? If you were really interested in bringing "sides" together, you could have just asked Campbell and Cohen if they were involved. In fact, Cohen had already publicly stated that she hadn't approached the college student. You could have said something unifying, but fed the fires of divisiveness instead. Please, enlighten us. Just what have you done to bring "all" sides together?

4. Smith said to Ennis: "Continuing at the podium with, 'you lied to us all along..." is unacceptable.'

Why is it unacceptable, Louise? Because it was directed specifically to you? Check your record. You told people that you weren't aligned with anybody but the taxpayer. Then in your first few months in office, you voted for a tax hike and a water rate hike, even before attempting to get the facts.

You promised government in the sunshine, but you have cut meetings and speakers short. You've asked few questions and none were of any light-shining quality. You even got upset in the newspaper with Campbell and Cohen for doing outreach to constituents about open government.

You promised fiscal responsibility and accountability. You're "woodshed talks" with the mayor over the audit are as meaningful as her saying, "I take full responsibility." You campaigned on the same principles as Campbell and Cohen practice, but your performance has been the exact opposite. (Not to beat up the Recall Kid too much, but this is much like Jordan Reisman who is touting those same principles, but started out inciting SU students to riot over tough noise ordinances and neighborhood housing laws. Funny thing is, if Reisman went after you seriously, you'd be the easiest to recall.)

Tell us again, Louise, what's unacceptable about Ennis saying you lied all along?

5. Smith said: "To use a public forum for disrespectful discourse...."

Louise, is the Daily Times a public forum? Answer: Yes. Is falsely insinuating that two of your council colleagues are in cahoots with the Recall Kid disrespectful? Answer: Yes.

6. Smith then goes through all her old emails from Ennis to draw out some peppery phrases that basically say Louise lied and is a tool of the mayor. Again, THIS is how your council president spends her time, Salisbury, while the administration overspends account budgets containing your money?

Ennis, a veteran of the military and of 18 years on the road as a trucker, picked up a few colorful turns of phrase, but there are no obscenities. She wasn't out of control at the podium. As discussed above, there's no slander here, either. In fact, Louise, you came a lot closer to slander with your innuendo about Cohen and Campbell in Latshaw's hatchet piece on the recall.

By the way, Louise, did you write a similar scolding letter to that paragon of virtue supporter of the zoo who stood at the podium last year at budget time and said Campbell and Cohen had sold their souls to the devil for 30 pieces of silver? No? Well, why not?

Alas, the Empress Smith has no clothes. (I gave her a promotion from "princess," as G.A. Harrison used to call her.) Her letter to Donna Ennis reads more like an effort to intimidate than it does a call for civility. Donna Ennis' only "crime" was that she told it like she sees it, in plain-speaking words, to hold Louise Smith accountable for her very own words and deeds. "Accountability." Remember that term, Louise?

All just my opinion, of course. I wouldn't want to get a nasty letter or anything.

Shorebirds Host A Family Fun Fest Saturday

The Shorebirds will open their Stadium for Kids and Families at 9:00 AM tomorrow whereas they will have an Easter Egg Hunt and other activities for children. I read this information on Michael's Blog and thought it would reach a larger audience here.

Hopefully Michael chimes in and shares more information about tomorrow in the comment section? Thanks for the update Michael. I did not see anything about this in The Daily Times, did any of you?

EXCLUSIVE! SHOTS FIRED IN HEBRON

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Department was doing routine neighborhood patrols in Hebron this afternoon and knocking on some doors to see if anyone had see or heard anyone stealing Long & Foster signs.

One Deputy went to a residence, (I was there) where the owner opened the door and their Pit Bull/Mix broke loose from the owner and started attacking the Deputy. After being bit, the Deputy was able to kick the dog off of him, he spun around and came back to attack him again.

Unfortunately, in fear of his life, the Officer was forced to shoot the animal and he was killed. I have to tell you Ladies & Gentlemen, each and every Officer there was heartbroken. There simply was no choice.

Considering the circumstances, I did not take pictures. The Officer is at PRMC as we speak and this happened some time after 4:00 PM today.

Why I Just Can't Pass Gas! LOL

Someone mysteriously sent me these photos, (LOL) taken today on Spring Hill Road. This is a windy road not suited for such speed, yet a fuel truck just leaving their base loaded with fuel thinks he's in the Indy 500 driving a stock car!

Anyway, it's kind of tough to pass gas when he's already doing 70 MPH!

Salisbury Kennel Club Breaks Ground

The Salisbury Kennel Club broke ground this afternoon and expressed some very exciting news. They plan on swinging their doors, (believe it or not) in June 08! Quite a bit of people were on hand for the event and it was a perfect day for it.

It was announced that the Poodle Club and Salisbury Kennel Club Shows are the two biggest events held in Wicomico County, raising more than $2,500,000.00 in revenue. I didn't know that and I'm confident many of you did not as well.

It should be very interesting to watch this structure go up and I look forward to their Grand Opening Party in June. I still can't believe that but we'll see how things go. Peggy Bradford is behind the whole project, so when they say it's going to happen, I have to believe them.

If you're wondering where this is located, you'll see the back of the building from west bound Rt. 50. If you turn at the Shorebirds Stadium, make your first right heading into Winter Place Park and it's about 1/2 mile down on your right.

What Do YOU Think About The New Daily Times?

Fair is fair. I'll share my thoughts on what I think of the new Paper and hope you'll do the same.

First of all, I'll start with, I have never received so many telephone calls and e-mails on one issue than the new Daily Times Newspaper. People quite frankly are ticked off. Their print sucks, (so I'm told by many as well as my person experience).

Change is something most people don't like. With the Newspaper Industry failing everywhere around us, I personally cannot understand why they would take such a risk and change so dramatically? It's not my Paper and or decision but I would have kept the format the same, to say the least.

The Daily Times is in a major jam period. You see, I learned yesterday there's no turning back! The size of the paper will remain the same, no matter what! Their new press only allows this size paper and they also had to eliminate one column per page, admittedly stating their stories must now be shorter, every story.

Now is that such a bad thing? I don't know yet. I will say my experience so far has been horrible and I have to add, I'm getting TWO papers per day now. Have they finally learned that we have a ton of young/small dogs that rely on their paper? It makes no sense but we're not calling them to fight off the second paper.

The print quality has improved day by day, then we fall back to bad days where you can't read a thing in some places. Your input is important because for all I know they're making sure I get a very special TOP SHELF edition to make sure I don't bash them each and every day?

I'd also like to touch on what they're reporting. Much of what you see daily can be read right here on Salisbury News, seriously. Granted, their articles are more journalistic but they don't have the UMPH! There's no real humor either. I enjoy knowing I've made people laugh when they're reading my articles, even at the risk of parting away from any journalistic qualities. See what I mean? LOL

Anyhow, what are your thoughts? Where do you think the news is going? Would you rather get the paper, or would you rather go on line? Would you rather have news with a twist like mine, or would you rather have news like the paper offers?

As we grow at Salisbury News, I'd like to know. You know me, it doesn't mean I'm going to listen but I'm sure you're enjoying it because the hits keep going through the roof! My personal goal is to continue delivering FREE information and that's what's killing The Daily Times. They rely on that $4.50 a week per person. If "I" was getting that, OMG! Instead, we'll rely on selling some advertising down the road and help these poor writers make a buck at what they do.

In the mean time, let us know your thoughts?

Your Tax Dollars Hard At Work!

Bear Stearns is the nation's fifth-largest Investment Bank who received a bailout today by the Federal Government and JPMorgan Chase & Co. in a last-ditch effort to save the 86-year old institution.

Bear Stearns made its fortune dealing in opaque mortgage backed securities and lost 1/2 of their value within 30 minutes of the market open, before climbing back a bit to be down 41 percent by mid day.

Can you say, Depression?

Congratulations Totmom!

Did you see today's Daily Times? I know many have cancelled their subscription, so I'll try to keep you up to speed.

Totmom put up an Entertainment Article talking about a woman who was on the toilet seat for 2 years. Well guess what? The Daily Times decided this article couldn't be resisted, so they put it in today's paper!

Another "As Seen On Salisbury News" article. Great work Totmom!

Know Where The Adult Entertainment Could Be In Salisbury

The City of Salisbury finally got their language together following the lead of other municipalities and found territories in which Adult Book Stores etc. could be located in the City. The pickins are slim but you should be aware of just where they might go.

So before you make an investment into property anywhere around the City, don't say you weren't warned ahead of time.

It's A Carbonated Soda Party!

While this driver has figured out a way to run his vehicle on Soda, the rest of us are still paying out the tail for gas nearly $3.25 per gallon.

They're claiming gas will exceed $4.00 a gallon this summer. Will Americans stand for it, truly? I want this guys secret! I mean, how much more of this crap can we take, seriously?

The Drive In Theater In West OC Isn't Exactly Closed

As you can see, the Theater has been closed long enough to show some pretty serious growth of trees on the property but it would appear the homeless have found a decent place to call home.

There are tents up throughout the property and they look fairly new.

You Do Not Get What You Pay For

Did you catch it? A Front Page Story and they can't even get the title straight? It's supposed to say, OC Mayor rejects firefighters' proposal.

Maybe they'll get it right in their $1.50 edition on Sunday?

If You're Not Going To Play Fair, Well, Well, I'm Gonna Leave!

After Councilwoman Debbie Campbell flat out tore the Mayor a new one last Monday night, the Mayor tried to interrupt Campbell and she just wouldn't stand for it. Debbie immediately instructed Louise Smith to basically shut that woman, (the Mayor) up as Mrs. Campbell had the floor.

Debbie was discussing just how this Mayor could SPEND all that money in change orders FIRST, without bringing it to the Council beforehand? Rather than the Mayor sitting back and waiting her turn, she pulled a power play and was told to be quiet.

The Mayor soon got up in anger, stormed out of the room and went to play in another sand box where the children can be more controlled.

Salisbury Kennel Club Ground Breaking Ceremony Today

The Salisbury Kennel Club wants to invite everyone out today at 3:00 PM to celebrate with them on their ground breaking ceremony where they are ready to start building their new facility in Winter Place Park.

If you just happen to be off today and are available to bring your pet at 3:00, join their celebration and even perhaps their Club.

Drive In Theaters, A Thing Of The Past

It's strange to think that many of the people reading this Post have never experienced a Drive In Theater. These photos are of the Theater in West Ocean City on Rt. 50.

I'll show some additional photos in another Post as to what's going on with this property now and I'll show you what has grown there.

Today I'll head out to the old Drive In Theater in Delmar, DE. Do you know of any other places that may still be sitting there doing nothing? If so, let us know.

OK, now don't lie. How many of you stuffed people in your trunks going in? How many of you lied about the age of your children? DON'T LIE!

Will The SFD Ever Understand It's About A Ladder Truck?

As I produced a Post last night about a fire on the West Side, a Ladder Truck was one of the first responders and because they didn't get my point the first go around, I'll try it one last time.

The Ladder Truck was NOT needed, they now admit that. It was there, just in case. Well, when you're spending $1,200,000.00 of my money for a TOY, I want that TOY to stay where it is UNTIL it's NECESSARY to go out.

IMO, it would be simple to set up an address perimeter for areas in which might REQUIRE a Ladder Truck? Oh, that's right, that would take WORK and some SMARTS. Oh, and guess what, if you're wrong you can always CALL back for the Ladder Truck!

You see Folks, accountability questions like this is what really ticks these guys/gals off. It doesn't have to have a high level of "what if's" to it if they just started managing things better. Nothing is perfect but when you run a system to send if ALL of the troops at once, what happens when another fire starts at the same time elsewhere?

So let's say yesterday a fire broke out at SU on the 3rd floor of an apartment building? The Ladder Truck is now EXTENDED, but NOT needed. They would have to retract it, then figure out how to clear the cluster of 500 Fire Trucks now in the way because every Fire Department from the local Eastern Shore is there toasting marshmallow's.

I know this is a bit much but come on, it's a reality though. I believe they could easily manage these Fire Departments better and all I'm saying is, why not try? By the way BOYS, did you SAVE that garage? Or is it a total loss? As for the home owner, WAY TO GO! As for the Insurance Company, YOU SUCK! I'm sure we'll be looking at a new Fire Station out in that area now to, because we must save everything.

The Ladder Truck, (especially the new one on order) needs to stay behind until necessary. That's my opinion.

I'll Do One Better, I'll Publish This Idiotic Comment

"Joe needs to stop worrying about being the first with so called news, and be the most accurate. there has already been some misleading about this ray lewis deal - and it seems that some people are more concerned with ray-ray-ray than the others who may have been involved. Joe, you gotta stiff one for ray or what? why aren't you saying a lot about the rest of the people who may have been involved? ray didn't take that stuff by himself. huh? print this, joe - let the people read it. and there are PLENTY of folks around who know damned well how far this stealing went through the county ranks. if you don't know, no problem. and this doesn't make make ray less innocent. but joe talks like ray went in there with guns loaded and took the stuff by force. My a$$! let's tell it all like it is. AND THIS IS NO DAMAGE CONTROL FROM RAY LEWIS, JOE!!! PRINT IT IF YOU'RE SO MUCH MAN!!"

Blast Away Everyone!

Another Record Day Yesterday

Again, I'll not get into numbers but it has been confirmed this morning we experienced yet another record day with visitors. Thanks for coming by everyone, we hope you enjoy your visit.

My guess would be more and more people are cancelling their subscription to The Daily Times and they're finding their way here.

Running For President Bites!

In a recent Parade, people expressed their views of the Presdential Race. Even Bill won't go there!

Dear Lord, Please Don't Allow The Mayor To Yell At Me

If you haven't experienced going to a City Council Meeting, especially if you're trying to ASK for something, it's an experience, to say the least.

Seniors and College Students have the greatest fears as Seniors can't properly hear what's being said because no one talks into their mic and SU Students fear that if they raise their voice too much, Chiefy will be there to arrest them.

So mainly the Council Room stays quiet with few visitors. I wonder Barrie, how does it feel to know you've scared the sh!t out of so many, even taking down names and staring at the during the Council Meeting making them uncomfortable, how does it feel to be in that kind of control?

I think the woman should be ashamed of herself for making seniors feel this way whenever they want to be heard.

The West Side Fire On Thursday

ATTN. MR. COMEGYS!!!!!! If you'll recall on Monday night during the City Council Meeting I got up there and asked about a Ladder Truck only having a 15 year life span for $1,200,000.00. I went on to ask, does the Ladder Truck need to go out on almost every call?

Granted, I was not on this scene for this p[articular fire, so I don't know who's Ladder Truck this is but my point should be well made and absorbed right here.

Come On Now, a Ladder Truck at a shed/garage fire? This is exactly why Salisbury and other surrounding Fire Departments need to have more experienced professionals running these Fire Departments.

Oh, I'm sure they'll have every excuse in the world like, it was so windy, you never know if it would have hit a taller 2 story building next door and we needed a Ladder Truck just in case. I don't care what their BS excuse is, these are Boys with bigger Toys!

Man up and face it, this is a waste of serious taxpayers money and I just wonder who was in charge. Was See & Gordy there? Did THEY call in for a Ladder Truck? Come on, let's get the real story up here and see who's accountable for this kind of stupidity.
