Did Ray Lewis & Co. Completely Suck The Life Out Of Wicomico County?

In today's USA Weekend Magazine provided in the Daily Times, this ad was placed inside to draw more people to certain Counties. Wicomico County was NOT in there. Worcester County was, Ocean City was but Wicomico County sits vacant, or shall I say, a No Show? Thanks Ray Lewis & Co.!

This happened before in a magazine (ChesapeakeLife or Coastal LIving-can't rmemeber which) that featured the Eastern Shore tourist attractions, Wicomico County was also not mentioned at all.

Ray Lewis should not be blamed for the mess that is Wicomico County.
Lewis is,one, and unconvicted felon and two and opportunist. Not someone who set out to destroy the well being of the County, that responsibility lies squarely on the shoulders of County Management.
You can blame the thief, however the greater blame is to those who created,by their neglect, the opportunity for such massive theft of county resources.
Rai Sharma has resigned for reasons yet know to us. In his capacity as Dept Head of the Land Fill, he is in the chain of command, and justifiably must take some of the blame. It should not however stop there, he had assistants and they had subordinates. All of them from the Dept Heads position reported to a higher responsibility.
The County Executive by virtue of his position must have the sign on his desk that says "The Buck Stops Here." He,however, must rely on competent assistants who have put in place checks and balances which swiftly identify such blatant misappropriation of county assets. Those individuals failed in their duties to the Executive, he failed in his duties to the tax payer.
So, foist all the blame on Ray Lewis if it makes you feel better but from Mr. Pollitt all the way to the Land Fill staff there is plenty of blame to go around.

You don't suppose the cost of providing Christmas gifts of those expensive pens to "Important" persons sucked money from the advertising account.
Oh! you know what I plum forgot that was not taxpayer money's. You can disregard the above thought If of course you are naive enough to believe it was not tax payer money spent on the 2007 gift or the 2006 gifts which were even more expensive. Does anyone know what the 06 gifts were?
There is a mission for you Joe.

The pens were $500.00, not $2,500,000.00! Buut who's counting, right?

Joe a little sensitive this morning aren't you.
In the police world there is a thing called the "Broken Window" theory.
That theory is explained by suggesting one broken window, if allowed to be ignored, will lead to two broken windows and the next thing you know you got a slum.
So lets not you and I not quibble over the amount, let us discuss the theft or misuse of tax papers dollars.

Yes, this thing goes very deep as far as the blame goes, but the bad part is that its the tax payer who suffers the consequenses. Someone had to set this planned theft in motion and I think it probably was Ray Lewis, by his talking with certain people on staff with the county. We my never know who all was involved, but you can bet it goes very deep indeed!

Where is Rays girlfriend-Vera-that works at the attorneys office?

Mr. Goetz is correct. someone had to set this thievery in motion, or the plans had to be laid for it. One thing's for sure. the blame goes a long way past Ray Lewis. While he should be held largely accountable for his part in this, i sure do hope they get to the bottom of whoever else was involved.

Joe, why
couldn't every employee in the department associated with the landfill voluntarily take a lie detector test and erase any doubt anyone might have regarding their involvement. The employees would feel so good and know they have the honest values people think they have. What a wonderful idea?
