There’s a Solution to Police Abuse. It’s Not Defunding Police Departments.

The majority of America’s police officers are brave men and women who make sacrifices and take risks every day to keep our communities safe, but incidents of misconduct do occur. Defunding America’s police departments would not solve the issue of police abuse, but limiting the power of police unions would allow for needed reforms.

Rachel Greszler, a research fellow at The Heritage Foundation, joins “Problematic Women” to discuss her new piece “Confronting Police Abuse Requires Shifting Power From Police Unions.”

Police unions have made it extremely challenging for police chiefs to fire or adequately reprimand officers for poor behavior or abuse of power. Control of police departments must be taken away from unions, Greszler argues, and placed back in the hands of the police chiefs who know their communities and officers best.

Also on today’s show, we share Rachel del Guidice’s conversation with Star Parker, founder of the Center for Urban Renewal and Education. Parker explains why America is not inherently racist.

I don't get it. It isn't about police abuse. If someone at a job steals money from their job, do you fire everyone? This isn't about skin color. Well, I guess 'they' are using people to cause disruption and hate so behind the scenes the agenda can move forward. Protesters are pawns and they don't even know it. Imagine if they did. Imagine what all those protesters could actually accomplish? So much corruption and black lives matter is being used. Sad.

I too am sick of police abuse. They had better start defending themselves and get rid of those foolish rubber bullets. If you wear or carry a badge you are appreciated by myself and most. Don’t let the vile nasty insects deter you at all. Thank you for your service and be careful out there.

We all know some cops that shouldn't be cops. I know several MSP that shouldn't be on the force. But since their families have some political pull. They are on it. These are the ones who will become a liability. This is the major problem everywhere. Just like the NJ State Trooper who pulled a woman over. Then started stalking her. How did this creep become a trooper. When I was growing up. If you were a Trooper. You were the best of the best. NOW. Not so much.

The police are fine in this country. Blacks think they own the license on racial injustice. When the country realizes that the large majority of all Americans support one another regardless of race or condition. The subculture of both races are lazy and obey no laws. You just witnessed it during the riots. How dare anyone call that a protest. There are a couple of thugs at every police department. They need to be weeded out. There is where the problem exist. If the supervisors have documented proof of brutality there is no problem firing the officer. So this is just more Liberal B.S.

There are 3 things that can be done and will solve all of this quick and easy, the next day cops go on the beat you will see a 100% transformation if all of what I say happens!!!! But the govt doesn't want that so we won't get it... Your better off defending and starting over than you have a chance of getting laws changed or passed... We already have laws protecting citizens, and the cops don't follow it, that is the problem...

7:45: It is power, money and greed!!!! Mainly by the unions but nonetheless still a problem... Just listen to how the police unions talk, talking about coming after anyone who wants to hold cops accountable... Corruptions always starts at the top... since they are the ones who allow it and push for it!!!! When you get laws passed that says cops need to have insurance to be a cop, and if they lose insurance they can't be a cop, and make them pay for it out of their pocket since they already get paid form tax payer money... Then you pass a law that says cops have to pay out of their own pocket for a lawyer if they are sued for any wrong doing, and if they lose, they have to cover it with their own personal money, this right there will stop most of anything cops do... NO one cares becasue it i snot their money they are wasting!!! Start wasting their own money, and you will see night and day transformation... When a cop can lose his house for a judge he lost for abusing peoples knows established rights, will make them think twice or at least thing is this lawful, not can I get away with it and how... But like I said, you have a better chance of seeing Sasquatch sitting by a camp fire with a unicorn sing show tunes than you will, of ever getting laws reformed to go against the cops... But then again we have laws protecting us form cos and they don't follow them, like criminals don't follow laws, which is why they call them criminals...

Vet, evaluate, test mental state, TRAIN, inspect, supervise, monitor. These steps could avoid some of the crap the public have to deal with concerning police.

Truck drivers have a national database recording any violations, results of drug tests, employment history, etc.

Why are not cops subject to the same? Stop covering for bad cops. Police yourselves. No more being fired in one town and then going two towns over and getting a job there and repeating the same crap that got them fired/disciplined.
