ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Larry Hogan today announced that the state of Maryland’s COVID-19 positivity rate continues to decline and now stands at 7.38%, and total current hospitalizations dropped below 1,000 for the first time since April 10.
The governor also announced that beginning this week, state-operated testing sites at Six Flags America and other locations across the state will provide more summer-friendly testing hours. Tests are provided at no out-of-pocket cost to patients, and Marylanders do not need to exhibit symptoms or suspect exposure to COVID-19 in order to get tested.
More than 435,000 COVID-19 Tests, 7.38% Positivity Rate. Maryland has now conducted 435,363 COVID-19 tests, and the state’s positivity rate has dropped more than 72% from its peak, down to 7.38% statewide.
COVID-19 Hospitalizations Drop Below 1,000. Maryland’s current total COVID-19 hospitalizations—one of the state’s key recovery metrics—have dropped to 979, their lowest level since April 10. There are 392 ICU beds and 587 acute care beds currently in use for COVID-19 patients.
Positivity Rate Continues to Decline in Key Jurisdictions. The positivity rate in Baltimore City is at 7.98% and Frederick County is at 7.68%—above the state average. Anne Arundel County is at 7.28%, Howard County is at 6.37%, and Baltimore County is at 6.33%—all below the state average.
The positivity rate in Prince George’s County has dropped by nearly 72%, from a high of 41.96% to a current rate of 11.83%. Montgomery County has dropped by more than 68%, from a high of 32.64% to a current rate of 10.26%.
Summer Hours to Begin at State-Operated Testing Sites. The Six Flags America testing site will be open on Wednesday, June 10 and Friday, June 12 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day. No appointment or doctor’s order is required to get a test at the Six Flags America site. Patients who are tested at state-operated sites will be contacted with their results, typically within two to five days.
Now More Than 115 Major Testing Sites Statewide. With expanded capacity and supplies available, the state has broadened the criteria for COVID-19 testing to include those who are asymptomatic. Well the numbers are fake, but either way, let me ask, how is being a good salve, how is that working out for you???? Listening to illegal orders???
Worcester county health department is harassing restaurants and threatening to close them for minor violations. Also, cadets are being sent to the restaurants to try and get served. Restaurants need to start threatening lawsuits. If protests are allowed then every business should be open.

It’s time to open maryland completely, king Hogan needs to be impeached or overstepped on this issue. Financially ruining the middle class will not be tolerated any longer. Either Annapolis opens maryland or we will open it ourselves and sue Annapolis if they interfere.
Testing, testing and more testing! Governor Hogan you need to grow a pair, and do what needs to be done for the people of the State of Maryland, and discontinue the draconian policies you have illegally implemented. We the people have gone along with your game plan up until now. It has become quite obvious as the riots have shown, social distancing and a continuation of your virus policies are meaningless.
"Uncle Fester" Hogan should gather up that blob of a body and waddle on down to the Eastern Shore to see what is going on.
The majority of the visitors are not complying with anything that comes out of that bottle-of-roll-on-deodorant-looking head of his.
Meanwhile businesses are dying.
It may be "a few weeks" to other businesses in other cities, but here it is a huge percentage of the YEAR!
C'mon Governor Stay-Puft, you don't look like you miss many meals. Try eating one in a hot parking lot, then LET US REOPEN!

I have written his office to complain - not that I expect any kind of answer.
My advise to business's is this.
OPEN UP. Just do it. If they cite you DON'T PAY. People like me and others who will be glad to see you open and WILL SUPPORT YOU.
Please, please, reopen Maryland.
All businesses should open their doors ASAP and then join together to file a lawsuit and included violation of the US Constitution.
When they win have in the settlement a monetary amount for each pro-rated and the State mandated to pay all legal fees.
I always hear businesses call for the public to call Legislatures but I hear nothing about the businesses forming a coalition to fight for themselves.
I believe (am not positive) that the state is given money by the feds fro each positive case. Please notice all the free new testing sites.
